message 3854: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I'm in my room at the Comfort Inn in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, about 40 miles from the Wyoming border.

Lots of cowboys around. Not that I'm into cowboys. Oh, you know what I mean.

message 3855: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes we do Larry, yes we do :-).

message 3856: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm in my office avoiding archiving. Normally I can foist that sort of onto my subordinates, but unfortunately, what’s left is too confidential. I would rather bore the be-gingoes out of you lot.

message 3857: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Well, it's working, Gail. I mean ... no ... we're not bored at all. Really.

message 3858: by [deleted user] (new)

Sure sure.

message 3859: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i like both the words foist and be-gingoes

message 3860: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 23, 2010 07:05PM) (new)

Feel free to use them. (not sure of the spelling of be-gingoes,b'gingoes,begingoes???) I am expert at foisting.

message 3861: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) foist, second, thoid ....

message 3862: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 23, 2010 07:08PM) (new)

message 3864: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I'm feeling overwhelmed. TOOOOOO many threads have new messages. :(

I think I'm going to cry.

Oh, and I have an AC adapter that works now. :) That is good.

message 3865: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Don't cry, Heidi!

message 3866: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments heidi - when i get that way i just click "mark all as read" and start fresh on convo's

Me too Heidi, I really don't try to read them after I've been away. I do like Kevin and mark them all as read and then just start fresh with the ones posted on the day I get back.

message 3868: by [deleted user] (new)

I try to plow through them all Heidi, but it can take quite awhile sometimes to get caught up.

message 3869: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I like Kevin, too.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
I do like Kevin does. You know what I meant. Grrr.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Jim, I can't believe you plow! I could never do that. I find myself wanting to post my two cents on discussions that happened last Tueday afternoon, and they end up being placed Friday morning and it's just too frustrating.

message 3872: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i also usually do not get into a convo that i initially did not get into. por ejemplo, if i had nothing really to say (i know, i know it has never really stopped me) i just don't get involved in a thread. that way i am not just making a comment for the sake of it. remember, too many comments can get you the heave ho on here. now if the thread title changes i may get in

Phil | 11852 comments Kevin "El Liso Grande" wrote: "heidi - when i get that way i just click "mark all as read" and start fresh on convo's"

"Mark all as read" does not work for me. I click the link & it comes back and says that all conversations have been marked as read. Then I go back to the "Discussions" page and there are still red numbers all over the place.

Yeah, it only works for when you click "unread topics" to see what's new. You can't go to the main page or any specifc folder.

As a long-time software test engineer, I say that is not acceptable behavior (the product, not the user). Using "mark all as read" should do as it says, not some subset of the functionality that appears in only one obscure part of the application.

I came into school to teach my one class today, and now I'm heading home. Thinking about making a pizza pie for dinner, so I have to get the yeast mixed and the dough rising before I head out for a walk.
I need to walk. I'm nearly 175 pounds, which is just not right on a person barely over five feet tall.

message 3882: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments had to say pie didn't you?

Well, I didn't go for a walk. The fat pregnant lady grows some more. I think I'll take a nap.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I did go for a walk, and I'm hungry again. But I'm not having pizza for dinner, I'm going to have Thai/Vietnamese food. Probably involving curry. :)

message 3887: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) pizza

message 3888: by [deleted user] (new)

You all made me hungry for pizza, and we have a new place here in town, and we got the deep dish, and it was delicious.

Félix (habitseven) The modern miracle of post-its.

message 3891: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments even more modern: i had to make a word document to keep track of them.

message 3892: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Next you'll be telling me you put them in a searchable database.

message 3894: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I always get carried away.

message 3895: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments It's GORGEOUS outside... and I'm too damn lazy to go out because it'll mean getting up to shower and finding clean clothes... which means I'll have to do laundry...

Does anyone else ever feel "stuck" inside because you don't want to do laundry and you don't have any clean clothes?

It's times like this when I wish I had a washer and dryer in the house (that works).

message 3896: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments right now i am contemplating yet another victory in the Coolest Uncle contest as i hear the GIANT HERMIT CRAB that i bought for my nephew noah scratching around the aquarium that i also got him. he is going to be soooo stoked when i unleash this wikked lookin' crustacean at the b-day party tomorrow. this sucka is about the size of my fist and has huge claws and creepy legs all tucked into the cool shell. i will once again be King Of The 10yr Olds

message 3897: by Misty (new)

Misty | 36 comments Awesome, Kevin! I'm a Favorite Aunt, so I feel your joy :) That is one cool present!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments You guys should paint the shell, Kevin. :)

message 3899: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments yup. i totally stole the party. the crab was the hit! i got an aquarium and food to go with it but just took it in the party in a paper sack. the kids were so icked out and excited at the same time. my nephew kept thanking me and giving me big hugs. all the boys would run in and say "uncle kev, uncle kev he is moving around" and we would all go back in and look at it. i said stuff like "wonder how high they can jump?" and "did you know they spit venom?" which delighted them.

great idea jackie. i think i will suggest that
