Félix (habitseven) Just got home from DC. Great to be home. Taking tomorrow off, too.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm glad you're home, Larry. Glad you had a good time in DC, too. I heard there were cupcakes!

message 3353: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Thanks, Jackie. Boy were there ever. Cupcake shops are a big thing in DC. Maybe they are everywhere. I don't know.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Not here, but Olympia isn't all that up on trends.

message 3355: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) At almost $4 each, they seem to be a good business to be in these days.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I remember that. Back when "Lazy Sunday" came out as a digital short on SNL.

That was our high yesterday Heidi.

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Cold here this morning, too, Jim. This weekend's supposed to be cold and rainy. Good reading weather.

Yes, no soccer games to ref this weekend, wearing sweats and reading is a good possibility, but tomorrow afternoon and evening is supposed to be cold and wet and there is a football game to watch.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments It's in the 50s and beautiful outside. It was supposed to rain today. Hurray for inaccurate weather forecasts!

message 3364: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I wouldn't have minded the 50ish degree weather this morning if I had expected it, but it sort of snuck up on me (esp. since I don't watch the news). Plus, I'm wearing my gladiator sandals to work today. My toes have been a bit chilly all day.

message 3365: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments 50 degrees and fall like. glorious in IN. harvest time, pumpkins, high school FB on friday nights, apple cider

message 3366: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Right now I'm wondering how many of the people on my friends list are alcoholics. For some reason that is on my mind this morning.

message 3367: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) A strange thing to wonder. Is this logic based? Pure conjecture? I'm not following.

message 3368: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Based upon some things I've read this morning. After waking at 4am, I started reading things, and wondered. Don't mind me.

message 3369: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) OK.

message 3370: by [deleted user] (new)

Right now I'm wondering how many of the people on my friends list are needy, annoying, boring sycophants. For some reason that is on my mind this morning.

Oh, wait. I just counted. One.

Hold on... Make that zero.

message 3371: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) O Loss.

message 3372: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) So, the sun it out today, for a change, and the wind is high, as is usual in this part of the Bluegrass region. I'm enjoying the morning.

message 3373: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Heheeh...

Ok, right now I'm about to go to the gym for an hour on the elliptical...

message 3374: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Hello RA

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm about to put the kettle on and make some tea. I couldn't sleep in for some reason this morning, so I might as well have some tea and catch up on those newspapers sitting on the table.

message 3376: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Be grateful for newspapers. I'm scanning mine, too.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I am, Larry. I can't imagine not having a newspaper every day.

message 3378: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Jackie, I was up at 4am, made me mad but what can a person do?

message 3379: by [deleted user] (new)

Wondering where I can get a good Cuban sandwich.

message 3380: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Atlanta

message 3381: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I'm preparing for a job interview in 30 minutes. I'm one of three finalists. Getting this job/promotion would be a major boost. Wish me luck, guys.

message 3382: by [deleted user] (new)

Good luck Larry, even though you don't need it, I'm sure you will do great.

Félix (habitseven) I appreciate your confidence, Jim.

message 3385: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Good luck, Larry. Knock their socks off!

message 3386: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I hope I did. Won't know anything until late next week. Thanks, Heidi.

message 3387: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments You're welcome.

A friend of mine sent a link to this video clip this morning. I "YAY"'d out loud! More than once...

message 3388: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Good Luck Larry!!!!!!

message 3389: by [deleted user] (new)

I'd seen that one before Heidi, but it is a good one.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm crossing my fingers for you, Larry.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Jim wrote: "I'd seen that one before Heidi, but it is a good one."

I'm pretty sure I'd seen it too, Jim... but I had to repost it because it was relevant to today/this morning/right now (at that time). :)

message 3392: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) To when, Heidi?
:-)

message 3393: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Jackie "the Librarian" wrote: "I'm crossing my fingers for you, Larry. "

Thank you! Interview went pretty well, I believe. Now is the time when we wait patiently for a decision. :( (I'm not especially good at that.)

message 3394: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Waiting for news is the hardest thing of all. I'm still waiting on the decision of the Social Security Judge, 32 days now. Join me in painful waiting.

message 3395: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I imagine that is a worse kind of waiting, Stephen. We're pulling for you!

message 3396: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) As I pull for you too. :-) No go assure David we value him. Value, that worries me. Am I valued?? I always thought you all considered me "on sale."

lol

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm drinking pear cider on an empty stomach. No good can come of this.

message 3399: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Uh oh. Don't be taking any bike rides, Jackie.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Nope, I'm doing the dishes, Larry. Dinner to follow.
Wait, that sounds totally backwards, doesn't it?
