It'll keep smelling like dog pee to them because you likely didn't get rid of whatever scent marks it as theirs. Have you washed it with vinegar? If no, then vinegar, then normal washing... otherwise, the trend will continue.

Oh, he's just checking out the cute baristas, Kevin. Don't let him fool you!

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Nools! Welcome back. Was wondering where you were...

message 3108: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I'm at work! On Saturday morning! But I just got off from working... so I'm going to go home, do laundry, take a nap... and then come back to work. And then probably work again tomorrow.

UGH! >:F

(I may try to squeeze some pool time in there, too, weather permitting)

message 3109: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) I'm glad Heidi of the many avatars is up. I am up and wondering where everyone is. Don't you people know that Saturday morning is the best silent hours of the week? You can actually have silence, think, and the rest of the world is asleep. Unless, of course, you are Heidi and having to work.

message 3110: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Also, I'm reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.

Looking forward to your review. I really enjoyed this book.

message 3113: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Jim, I find the more I read it, the more I need to talk about it. It's like some kind of obsession.

Excellent, he's pulling you in like a great author should.

message 3115: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Actually, I didn't get off from work when I said I would. But I'm leaving now... and THEN I'll be back. It's not such a bad thing, though - getting work done over the weekend when I don't get interrupted is good because then I can be more relaxed during the week about the stuff I don't have time to do when I get constant interruption because the front desk is calling to say a study participant is here for clinic or for an intake... or because I need to track down bill issues that needs to be sorted out or whatever the interruption of the moment might be. :) I will definitely get some me time in first, though. And I plan on hanging out with my dog because he deserves it.

message 3116: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) All dogs go to heaven, you know. I'm trying to keep up with whether or not everyone we know in California is in danger, and this is seriously messing with my Murakami addiction.

I finished my comprehensive exam this morning in exactly the allotted time. It was not as difficult as I'd been preparing myself for, or perhaps because of my preparation it was not that difficult. Or maybe it was deceptively easy and I actually failed flat on my face and I won't be defending my thesis come October.
In any case, I'm finished with that. I'm trolling around on the boards, trying to catch up on all I've missed this week. Then I'll disappear again.

message 3118: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Welcome back Sally, thread namer. You did the comprehensive with ease because you were prepared. Funny how that works. :-D

Can you make it into "lackadaisical thread namer"? for me?

message 3122: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I always thought it was laxadaisical.

message 3123: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome back Sally, and I think Sally is correct Larry.

Not that she's lackadaisical, just in how to spell it.

Félix (habitseven) Exlaxadaisical?

message 3125: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) LOL, that is hysterical, Larry, and so appropriate for a thread with 3231 messages. lol Love it.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments She keeps GIVING it to me to play... I think she's TRYING to get me addicted. She's like an iPhone apps pusher. :-/ So far, 4 of us are trying to beat each other's scores. Goodness knows who else she'll push it on.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments For the last 5 days, I've noticed I start getting a headache around 3:30 in the afternoon... and it won't go away (until I get to sleep). WHY GOD, WHY? :(

message 3133: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Allergies.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I get those when I need caffeine, Heidi. Have you stopped drinking coffee, lately?

message 3135: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Or stopped smoking cigarettes?

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Right now I am a little bit freaking out because Jared is scheduled to have his second interview with Puerto Rico.

Holy Crap! This might actually happen! *O* (shocked expression)
But, this is a good thing because we need it to happen. And... I'm still freaking out.

Trying not to hyperventilate while thinking of everything we have still to do to get ready. ::Breathe... Breathe::

Still crossing all my fingers & toes. Are ya crossing yours too? :D

I stopped drinking sodas. I used to drinka diet coke every morning. Now I drink a cup of coffee in the mornings and water for the rest of the day. I made myself a cup of black tea this afternoon (and ate an apple with peanut butter), though, and it doesn't seem to be as bad as it has been.

It should stop in a couple more days after the brain gets used to not needing the caffeine.

Stephen (stephenT) Caffeine deficits, can bring some serious headaches.

message 3141: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Oh, good morning Heidi! Good morning everyone!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm just back from a really long dentist appointment. I had three old fillings replaced, because they had spread and were cracking the teeth.
Now, I'm waiting for the novocaine to wear off a bit before I try to drink some tea.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments The up side is, they replaced the old amalgam fillings with tooth-colored stuff, so my mouth will look prettier now. Once my upper lip isn't all puffy, anyways.

message 3144: by RandomAnthony (last edited Sep 02, 2009 02:18PM) (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I was wondering where the librarian could be. I figured she was galavanting about town in the library van...apparently I was wrong. Hope you feel better, Jacks...

message 3145: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i was going to say "keep a stiff upper lip jackie" but i guess i won't now

hope you get feeling better quickly. i have found that in similar circumstances a book helps :)

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments A book, Kevin? There's a novel idea!

Sorry, sorry, I think the novocaine is affecting my sense of humor...

message 3147: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Right now I'm just back from cleaning the office fridge. YYYYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUCK.
Me, looking at an item in a plastic bag: "Who knew chocolate-chocolate chip cookies could grow mold?"
Co-worker: "That's not a cookie. That's a hamburger."

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Ewwwwww!!!!!

Office refrigerators are notoriously gross. I used to try to keep half and half at work, but it would always go bad after two days from all the door opening.

message 3149: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments This one is theoretically cleaned every two weeks these days, but whomever did it the last couple of times clearly didn't do a good job. I threw away stuff that expired in 2007.

Also, why does everyone need their own mayo?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I think if we could answer that, we could achieve world peace, Sarah. :)
