Right now I'm ... Janine awesomeness

1. Just learned that I'm partially lactose intolerant. Boo.2. Relieved that the temperature is finally dropping.
3. Shaking my fist at the freshmen crowding frat row. Rush week. Bah.
4. Anxious! Tough semester ahead.
5. Discovering this: http://current.com/items/90807437_rea... Tragic!
6. It takes, like, a million years to scroll through all the thread categories now... Nightmare of threads to catch up on. There's a "mark all as read" button somewhere, yes?
I'm at work! On Saturday morning! But I just got off from working... so I'm going to go home, do laundry, take a nap... and then come back to work. And then probably work again tomorrow. UGH! >:F
(I may try to squeeze some pool time in there, too, weather permitting)
I'm glad Heidi of the many avatars is up. I am up and wondering where everyone is. Don't you people know that Saturday morning is the best silent hours of the week? You can actually have silence, think, and the rest of the world is asleep. Unless, of course, you are Heidi and having to work.

Looking forward to your review. I really enjoyed this book.

Excellent, he's pulling you in like a great author should.

Actually, I didn't get off from work when I said I would. But I'm leaving now... and THEN I'll be back. It's not such a bad thing, though - getting work done over the weekend when I don't get interrupted is good because then I can be more relaxed during the week about the stuff I don't have time to do when I get constant interruption because the front desk is calling to say a study participant is here for clinic or for an intake... or because I need to track down bill issues that needs to be sorted out or whatever the interruption of the moment might be. :) I will definitely get some me time in first, though. And I plan on hanging out with my dog because he deserves it.
All dogs go to heaven, you know. I'm trying to keep up with whether or not everyone we know in California is in danger, and this is seriously messing with my Murakami addiction.
I finished my comprehensive exam this morning in exactly the allotted time. It was not as difficult as I'd been preparing myself for, or perhaps because of my preparation it was not that difficult. Or maybe it was deceptively easy and I actually failed flat on my face and I won't be defending my thesis come October.
In any case, I'm finished with that. I'm trolling around on the boards, trying to catch up on all I've missed this week. Then I'll disappear again.

Welcome back Sally, thread namer. You did the comprehensive with ease because you were prepared. Funny how that works. :-D
Welcome back Sally, and I think Sally is correct Larry.
Not that she's lackadaisical, just in how to spell it.

She keeps GIVING it to me to play... I think she's TRYING to get me addicted. She's like an iPhone apps pusher. :-/ So far, 4 of us are trying to beat each other's scores. Goodness knows who else she'll push it on.
Sally wrote: "Can you make it into "lackadaisical thread namer"? for me?"I fixed it. I might've made an additional title change or two. :)
For the last 5 days, I've noticed I start getting a headache around 3:30 in the afternoon... and it won't go away (until I get to sleep). WHY GOD, WHY? :(
Right now I am a little bit freaking out because Jared is scheduled to have his second interview with Puerto Rico. Holy Crap! This might actually happen! *O* (shocked expression)
But, this is a good thing because we need it to happen. And... I'm still freaking out.
Trying not to hyperventilate while thinking of everything we have still to do to get ready. ::Breathe... Breathe::
Still crossing all my fingers & toes. Are ya crossing yours too? :D
Jackie "the Librarian" wrote: "I get those when I need caffeine, Heidi. Have you stopped drinking coffee, lately?"I stopped drinking sodas. I used to drinka diet coke every morning. Now I drink a cup of coffee in the mornings and water for the rest of the day. I made myself a cup of black tea this afternoon (and ate an apple with peanut butter), though, and it doesn't seem to be as bad as it has been.

It should stop in a couple more days after the brain gets used to not needing the caffeine.

Ohhh, but it's been over a week. :(
I'm just back from a really long dentist appointment. I had three old fillings replaced, because they had spread and were cracking the teeth. Now, I'm waiting for the novocaine to wear off a bit before I try to drink some tea.
The up side is, they replaced the old amalgam fillings with tooth-colored stuff, so my mouth will look prettier now. Once my upper lip isn't all puffy, anyways.
I was wondering where the librarian could be. I figured she was galavanting about town in the library van...apparently I was wrong. Hope you feel better, Jacks...
i was going to say "keep a stiff upper lip jackie" but i guess i won't nowhope you get feeling better quickly. i have found that in similar circumstances a book helps :)
A book, Kevin? There's a novel idea! Sorry, sorry, I think the novocaine is affecting my sense of humor...
Right now I'm just back from cleaning the office fridge. YYYYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUCK. Me, looking at an item in a plastic bag: "Who knew chocolate-chocolate chip cookies could grow mold?"
Co-worker: "That's not a cookie. That's a hamburger."
Ewwwwww!!!!!Office refrigerators are notoriously gross. I used to try to keep half and half at work, but it would always go bad after two days from all the door opening.
This one is theoretically cleaned every two weeks these days, but whomever did it the last couple of times clearly didn't do a good job. I threw away stuff that expired in 2007. Also, why does everyone need their own mayo?

It'll keep smelling like dog pee to them because you likely didn't get rid of whatever scent marks it as theirs. Have you washed it with vinegar? If no, then vinegar, then normal washing... otherwise, the trend will continue.
