i think it is a 'south african' item.....

message 2455: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments What exactly does "getting him ready" entail, Michelle. Are you shaving his gifted leg?

Tell him: "Richard says: get well soon." Do it just before the anaesthetic kicks in.

message 2456: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments yea he's nervous, this is his first break, first surgery. 47 and never been in the hospital, except to help me thru my list of sugeries.

Richard | 347 comments Pronutro is a porridge that looks and tastes like sawdust.

And this is what South African youngsters think of it.

message 2460: by [deleted user] (new)

Best of luck to your husband Michelle.

message 2461: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments That sounds very caring, Michelle. My wife would probably help me into a taxi and tell me not to come back until I could walk properly.

if you lose your coffee - check the laundry room! (I lose mine sometimes so just a gentle reminder)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I bet Cinnamon Toast Crunch tastes better than Pronutro. :)

cinnamon toast crunch

message 2466: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Little cinammon-y fake-toast sugar bomb squares. MMMMMM....

message 2467: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments They're really mini cinnamon and sugar coated graham cracker-like squares... and I adore them. They're best when they're fully soaked with milk but not so soggy that they don't still have a bit of crunch.

message 2468: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments It makes my teeth hurt thinking about them. That was a great cereal.

message 2469: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments You can get low sugar Cinnamon Toast Crunch now. :) That's what I prefer, at least. I'm more a fan of cinnamon.

message 2470: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Interesting. Is it whole grain too?
Did anybody else read that Cheerios got told off by FDA? They were told they had to stop making so many health claims or they would become the first regulated cereal.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Oh, has the FDA developed a backbone finally?

message 2472: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments No, but they found one in a specially marked box of Frosted Flakes.

message 2473: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments a backbone?!!

message 2474: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Yup. You never know what you'll find in your food these days.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments UGH!!! GROSS!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm being too hard on the FDA. They didn't have support from the last administration, not for any actual regulation that might hurt an industry, or in adequate staffing and funding.
Hopefully this current administration will be better at supporting Americans, not just American business. We shall see.

You don't have to make thing up these days!!!! TRUTH is stranger than FICTION!!!!!

message 2479: by Lori (new)

Lori Thanks Sarah for bringing that up again with no warning as to what the link was about. I thought it had to do with Cheerios. Instead I find more details on a story that I purposefully skipped after seeing the headlines when the story first broke.

:)

I DO love Multi-Grain Cheerios, and these days fresh strawberries added makes it sublime.

Right now I'm resisting the urge to get back in the crawl space with my cats. Don't like windy storms.

Nuri (nools) | 538 comments We just made/killed a potful of ddukbukki and fried bananas. Delishious.

Now I want to go for a walk. Why do I always want most to go for a walk when it is least safe to do so? (One of my roommates just joked about how often I "need to be walked." But what a shame not to, with the hills just behind us and campus so near!)

They are guitaring and singing in the next room. Maybe I will join them instead.

Matthieu | 1009 comments I'm working on a bit of sentential calculus for work with recursion theory. My friend at Penn (and the CDC) is developing a possibility structure in order to predict the extent of future epidemics. I'm helping him.

Makes me want to go to medical school...

Matthieu | 1009 comments Haha! Oh, N...

Hopefully there will be a ∆ the weather before I make my way back to P--Alto.

And Berkeley.

Yes, let's MCAT, N.

I turned that into an imperative just for you.

message 2497: by Nuri (last edited Jun 26, 2009 12:17AM) (new)

Nuri (nools) | 538 comments Oh, I edited it out again. I may need to postpone my test date, depending on whether or not I keep Latin this summer. (It is looking like NOT, unfortunately. D:)

Yes, the weather's been on and off lately. Yesterday was at least beautiful to look at, if a bit more chilly than I like.

Hortatory! <3

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Michelle's 29... like the rest of us peeps. :) Duh.

I'm proud of you Cinnamon Toast Crunch consumers! Keep up the good work. Cuz as long as Cinnamon Toast Crunch is keeping you happy, the world is a better place.

I'm contemplating the fact that I seriously want breakfast right about now. I don't know what I want yet, though. I'm out of cereal and at work. I may have to settle for a bagel and some fruit... or something.

message 2499: by Richard (new)
