message 2302: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I have been rejoicing in the cooler, wetter summer...though I've heard the mosquitos will soon rise up against us, forming a giant collective mosquito to wipe us from the earth.

TxLadyForever | 190 comments it is so dry here the 'clay' has turned to 'dirt'! ugggg yet in this heat rain would just make it sticky!

Nuri (nools) | 538 comments OH MY GOODNESS, having just returned to my Berkeley apartment a day or so ago... I am STILL working on the dishes. So. Many. Freaking. Dishes. Pots. Baking Pans. Measuring cups. Forks. Knives. Sieves and cutting boards. All plural!!!

I wish I were more confrontational. : /

message 2306: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 777 comments Don't you hate dirty dishes?? And it gets bad, then it gets worse, then the worst and then I can't stand to touch them, but what choice do I have?
Do you have a dishwasher? I do, thank goodness, but when they sit in the sink for a few days, it's still yucky!
I sympathize Nools--I really do.

message 2307: by TxLadyForever (new)

TxLadyForever | 190 comments dishes (???) does that mean someone cooked (???)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments Writting a crazy piece of fiction cuz I did'nt like where the author took the story, and it left me annoyed. I am almost happy with it. Oh, and drinking my coffee.Happy thoughts.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments It's a wet, gray day here in the northwest. I'm watching the rain come down after four weeks of beautiful sunny dry weather, and thinking about the kids who just had their last day of school yesterday.
Kind of ironic, really.

I'm going crazy with the front yard gardening.

I'm so fed up with the cool, dark refrigerator garden I have in the back yard. nothing grows in that thing. it's like the place plants go to slowly fade away into rot.

>:(

Cool thunderstorms and cloud formations here lately. Mean weather, which I like because it signals the true start to summer.

That's what we've had for years! That's the part we finally just tore out and turned into a people-area instead of a plant-area.

TxLadyForever | 190 comments do you have a pic of the new people area you want to share?

I'm slowly moving everything to the front. It's an arduous task. Everything needs to be in ICU for a week after getting pulled out of there.

message 2324: by TxLadyForever (new)

TxLadyForever | 190 comments NOW it is past lunch time ahhhhhhhhh wondering if i missed it or can i catch up!

message 2325: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I haven't taken pictures yet but I shall.

Lunch was very good, though not quite as good as usual. We had a choice between the place with authentic (super spicy) food and the place with more choices, and picked the one with more choices.

I was good and did not stuff myself to the gills, but something that I ate must be a soporific or else I ate more than I thought I did, because now I can barely keep my eyes open.

message 2342: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I do remember that feeling of being light years beyond my friends who were still in high school, the first visit back from college. Which was most of my friends, since I graduated in four years instead of Ontario's then-five.

message 2343: by Félix (last edited Jun 19, 2009 12:32PM) (new)

message 2346: by Nuri (new)

Nuri (nools) | 538 comments Yes, Matt, you're absolutely ancient. : )

Reading plays, waiting on laundry, putting off vacuuming. Should be studying, but today was too nice.... I'll do extra tomorrow to make up for it.

message 2347: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Nools, vacuuming and doing laundry on vacation? Just buy enough underwear to last a few months. It'll save all kinds of time.

message 2348: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments would you let them stack up or throw them away as you go?just curious

message 2349: by Nuri (new)

Nuri (nools) | 538 comments Hahaha, I like the way Sarah Pi thinks!
But I've put it off way too long already....

I went away for a weekend and our place was kind of disgusting when I got back. I've been working on it the past couple of days. I should have the place to myself this weekend, though, so I am kind of looking forward to that. : )

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I find it much easier to clean when the house is empty. Vacuuming around people makes me surly.

Or maybe that's just the vacuuming doing that...
