RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I froze up and had to scoot down the stairs on my butt... the WHOLE way.

I would mock you but I have done the same thing myself, just not on an oil rig.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments The people were backing up behind me, and my parents were getting embarrassed. I tried to move my feet, but they were STUCK... FROZEN in place.

I told them they were stupid for bringing me there KNOWING my dad had to carry me across the rickety bridge and the rope supported platforms at Swiss Family Robinson TreeHouse when we went to DisneyWorld.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments A lot of people hate stairs you can see through, or that have open space instead of risers, Heidi.

message 1804: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments man, i have climbed up a staircase to no where in china (it used to lead to a very high tank but now just went straight up maybe 100' and just hung over nothing - rusty and rickety) and just climbed to the the top of a water tower in india that was basically a home made stair/ladder deal that was WAY to narrow for my american ***. i just never consider that it might be dangerous

Richard | 347 comments Right now I'm still wondering what happened to Kevin's "overall ridiculousness" thread...

message 1806: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments yeah, that was supposed to be fun and got weird quick

message 1807: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i do like seeing that word spelled though [ridiculousness:]

message 1808: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments It was the HIGH-FIVE thread, Richard!!! Remember I high-fived you there? :)

message 1809: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments It got off to an excellent start. But I think someone took offense to my "ridiculous overall" pic - which I selected with great care.

message 1810: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments You did high-five me, Heidi, you did. My palm is still stinging.

message 1811: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments not really offense, just not something i wanted to be associated with. gave me the heebies. (might as well say kevin richard...LOL)

message 1812: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments Right now I'm wondering whether Kevin zapped his own excellent thread. Well, did you Kevin, zap your own thread?

Sally has some great overall pictures on another website - four gals lined up at camp. :) I have a feeling they planned it ahead of time. If it was mere coincedence, that'd be REALLY cool!

I would be one of those "a lot of people," Jackie. It's not so much that I dislike them. I just can't move.

Félix (habitseven) Getting back to a fear of heights ....

message 1816: by [deleted user] (last edited May 29, 2009 01:40PM) (new)

They have a video out of someone walking this, but it is currently pulled. I got nervous sitting at my desk watching it.

Here is part of it.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments A distinction - mine's not a fear of heights - I can , just a ridiculous amount of disorientation when I can see massive drop below my feet... probably more akin to vertigo.

message 1818: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Mine's not a fear of heights - it's a fear of landing.

message 1819: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Hm. A thread disappeared? Weird. Kevin?

Another problem with cathedrals is looking up at them. Sometimes looking up at heights is just as bad as looking down from them, at least for me.

message 1820: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments yup, i did richard. i could see it wasn't going to be near as funny or interesting as i thought and just killed it before it became another dead thread

message 1821: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) The floor is already littered with dead threads. Many of them started by yours truly.

message 1822: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments hey, no sense beating a dead horse LOL

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
I think starting threads is like sowing seeds. You have to toss out many to get one or two to grow every day. I try not to mourn the ones that don't make it. They have as good a chance as any.

message 1824: by Félix (last edited May 29, 2009 02:02PM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) They have a better chance if you toss them on the manure pile. Poop makes everything grow better.

message 1825: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow, Sally is a gardener at heart (♥).

message 1826: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments Because of a coy man in a ridiculous overall, Kevin? I'll let it rest. Nuff said.

Your zombie threads are indeed notorious, Larry.

Feeling feisty, Dutch man?

message 1828: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Poop makes everything grow better.

message 1829: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments I try to keep Feisty on a short leash, Sally. But she does like to run now and then.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Larry, focus. We've moved on.

message 1831: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Poop.

message 1832: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments right now i am waiting for a phone call with an EIN number so i can get my shipment to South Africa ready for pick-up on monday morning. c'mon phone....

message 1833: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Is that like a PIN number? Or an ATM machine?

message 1834: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments What's in the box, Kevin? Good tidings?

message 1835: by Félix (last edited May 29, 2009 02:24PM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) Feisty says to keep your hands off her, if you please, Richard.

message 1836: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments it is a tax ID number. doing all the customs forms and declaration stuff. shipping a crate with a 300# electronic programmable drive in it to a place called Dowerglen

message 1837: by [deleted user] (new)

Employer Identification Number, kind of like a Social Security number for a business.

message 1838: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments suppose it is good tidings. they needed it and i made a bundle from selling it. that is good in my book

message 1839: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Oh.

message 1840: by [deleted user] (new)

Richard wrote: "What's in the box, Kevin? Good tidings?"

Bah Humbug!

message 1841: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments My mom lives near Dowerglen. How weird.

message 1842: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments ding ding ding! jim was correct

message 1843: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments ok, call came. i am outt-ee

message 1844: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments Never heard of them. But my brother probably has.

Don't drive that hog too hard on the way home.

message 1845: by Matthieu (new)

Matthieu | 1009 comments ...Just getting back to my room. I spent the last hour + throwing off the synthetic mound in the gym. My arm feels absolutely wonderful. No pain.

I still have to finish packing...

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm at home at last, eating tortilla chips and salsa.
I'm spoiling my dinner, but I don't care!

message 1847: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell Don't you dare go swimming right now. Or run with scissors.

message 1848: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments (Do it Jackie, do it!)

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Swimming would get the tortilla chips soggy. And I hate running, with or without scissors.
I may play with my food a bit. Sorry, it's the best I can do right now...

message 1850: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Well, I think playing with food qualifies. But, mostly, just eating those forbidden foods before dinner def makes you the Rebel of the Day, Jacks. :)
