Feeling Nostalgic? The archives

Right now I'm ... Janine awesomeness
Sounds like you are on a good start. We don't do PPC currently but are doing more blogging and news releases
I'm wishing I were a little bit more computer-illiterate. Not saying I'm a genius: only that if I'd never known to replace our modem, we'd still be internetless right now, and I'd still be productive.
The only pictures I have are in my mind. :) I had my camera with me, and for some reason, it seemed that taking pictures would be disruptive or out of sync with my disconnect, if that makes sense.
Well, the word pictures you gave us in the description of your vacation were already pretty darn wonderful, Heidi.
Right now I'm on the computer for the first time in a while. College reunion was this past weekend. Then jury duty (evacuated halfway through the day because of a water main break) which allowed me to go to my conference after all; the conference goes til tomorrow. They make us get up hideously early but they feed us every two hours. I'm stuffed and over-sugared, but the food is surprisingly good for hotel food. I'll get back to my regularly scheduled Goodreads hanging Friday or Monday...
Conference food is almost always bad...weird glazed excuses for donuts and the like. But if they have fruit and yogurt, I'm usually good to go.Welcome back, Ms. Pi...
Yes, I too felt a lack where your voice normally chimes in! Welcome back! Here, have some fresh strawberries.
Yes! And I figured out a new, nifty way of slicing them so I barely waste any berry and they're all the same shape & size!
Right now I'm in a local coffee shop listening to Sparklehorse and grading papers. The annoying teenage girls left and I stole their spot, which is nicer and out of the sun. Yay!
Gazing out the window to the east, where I can see the fantastic bursting forth of colors in the Heartland of America park next door. A lithe young lady is jogging on the pathway, as swans, ducks, and geese gliding around the lake, and an eastbound freight train rolls across the bridge over the mighty Missouri toward Chicago.I can see it all from my window.
Life is good ... but I must make some coffee ... and get ready to travel this afternoon.
I'm resting after going to the movies, and then downtown to do some Mother's Day shopping (a card AND earrings :)), and then being irresistably drawn over to Capital Lake where some sort of biking/kayaking event was going on. I NEVER see boats on that lake, so it was really neat to see all the folks out there messing about in boats. I wasn't planning to, but I ended up walking around the lake, and it was just a little too far for comfort (inappropriate shoes, no socks), but it was really great anyways. It was one of those days where everyone with a dog comes out to enjoy the sun before the rain returns. Which it has. And now I'm home petting cats and thinking about tea.
LOL well, I was kinda commenting on yours & Jackie's posts... but I did go on an awesome bike ride with Jared chasing thunderstorms. It felt great. (I actually commented on it in another post in the avatars thread, but should have saved it for here) Thanks for asking!Uh, what's up with the name this time Lar? Um, Mick?
right now i am waiting for the Fremont Municipal Court in OHIO to open up so i can plead my case for NOT appearing in court OR paying my speeding ticket. i got a ticket in OH on 4/16/09 and sort of put it on the back burner until last friday 5/1/09 when i decided to take care of it and found that it had to be paid or i was to appear in court on 4/29/09. 13 days after i got the ticket???? only 13 days???? my fault for the ticket AND not reading it but 13 days??? i want to say (but won't) "i have had lots of tickets and none had to be paid in 13 days!!"uh...they could suspend my license :(
Did you get the ticket in Ohio on the tollway, Kevin? In the past decade I've been ticketed twice on the Ohio tollway. They suck.
yup. 80/90 tollway. i have had 3 tickets in the past 15 years (well, three in the last year none for 14 years before that) and 2 have been in OH. i was driving in the flow of traffic, not out if front or passing anyone, side by side with a semi and when we came over a ridge he got me. 80 in a 65. i probably was doing that speed but i was def in the flow of traffic and he got me. he drove behind me for a long way prior to flipping the lights on. i think he saw my out of state plates and then got me. they def suck
I agree...they totally go for the out of state plates...I got caught once just east of Cleveland, right where the speed limit switches, and once in the middle of nowhere between Toledo and Cleveland...
well, i thought the speed limit was 70 but it was 65. either way i was definitely speeding but not excessively or unsafely weaving in traffic.anyway, i just spoke to the nicest lady at the Freemont Municipal Court system and between her pleasantness and my charm (LOL)we worked it out where i can send the payment today and she will not turn me in. she also is putting a note next to my ticket number saying she authorized this late payment. blessings to her today !!
THat's awesome, Kevin. It's always nice to know there are beurocrats who are willing to bend the rules.I am nursing sore EVERYTHING. The magnificent mudpit we spent six hours creating and maintaining left bruises and blisters everywhere.
I have pictures of the human sock monkey and many amazing sculptures, but for now you can look at the photos by others:

Then we took a bus to New York and ate our way through the city in 24 hours. I spent 3 hours in the Strand bookstore (my home away from home) and Forbidden Planet and a magnificent little record store, walked about seven miles carrying two dozen bagels, and came home very happy.
Today I woke up feeling like a punching bag. Bagels are heavy, my blisters have blisters, and I don't really feel like being at work... which means it must have been a great weekend.
I rediscovered the yummy goodness that is chocolate covered frozen bananas. :) I plan to experiment with making my own over the summer until I am utterly satisfied with my personal preparations (I did that last summer with green tea and mint).
I have Magic Shell at home - both the Reese's and the Heath variety. I got myself hooked on it waaaay back in the day when I was counting calories - fat free breyer's with a tablespoon of the Reese's magic shell (lower in fat/cal than the regular) was heaven to this former dieter.
You sound like my daughter. She loves vanilla, with a marichino cherry on top (although she also likes hot fudge with it). I always go for the super-duper-double-chocolate-fudge-with-a-brownie-&-chocolate-sauce variety. I'd take the cherry on top too.
I triple knotted one once when I was in college... don't know if I have to patience to try it again.
I just returned to my desk after doing a 2 hour interview with a new study participant to "Dom DeLouise dies at 75." Ugh. My heart just crashed into my stomach when it dropped. I loooove Dom DeLouise. Rest in peace, good man.
I'm sitting by gate C10, Dallas/Fort Worth, waiting for my flight home. It's extremely overcast here. The concourse is unusually quiet today.
Cinnamon wrote: "Tripled knotted? I didn't even know that was possible."Well, I'd knotted it and my friend bet me that I couldn't make two knots... and when I did, he said, "HOLY SHIT! Okay, I bet you can't do 3 on there..." Stubborn mule that I am... And now you know the rest of the story. I wouldn't back down on a bet. The stem, for the record, was longer than most usually are.
Larry, sometimes I'm really envious of your life.
I'd love to pass my days in airport terminals. They are the most neutral of spaces, IMHO.

Well PPC is part of the job description - alsoagain 1st time doing it and I find my ads aren't creative enough :-(
The SEO is more using hubspot to see how our website can be optimized (1st pass), making a list & writing us suggested content, headings, etc.
