Jackie - that parade sounds wonderful! I'd want to be in it, and I haven't been in any parade since the NY Halloween about 25 years ago. Now THAT was a hoot. Russian sites, eh? I have heard things about the Geek Squad, same as what Kevin said. When Jake got a computer virus so bad we couldn't even turn the damn thing on, I couldn't believe how much places were going to charge to wipe his PC clean, yikes! Then I called this guy who was located near me, turns out he closed his little shop, moved to Edmonds and just operates out of his house now. An old-timer geek, and he came and picked the PC up too! Charged $75, as opposed to the $400 the other places wanted. I got so lucky to have found him. Start asking around for future reference, I'm sure there are people like him all over.
Did someone say Round Rock? I lived there for 3 months and worked for IBM way back in '92, my first geek job. I loved Austin, but was living with one neurotic woman that still causes me nightmares, so I came back to Oregon. But, it gave me what I needed to start techie jobs in Seattle, which brought me to graphic design and Jared... and the rest, as they say, is history.
Yes, Sherrie. Round Rock. Here is the round rock it's named after, located along the old Chisholm Trail:
Wow, Lori! How sweet to have found that dude. I bet he remembers Linux. My grandpa would never update from DOS , he didn't "believe" in Windows.
No, Sherrie. I think you mean Hippie Hollow where they swim on Lake Travis. The round rock is in Brushy Creek right near the historic part of Round Rock, along the old cattle drive trail. Here's the other place:

It is a friend's birthday today. We "surprised" her at midnight. I couldn't stay long, but I obligingly helped out with the cake. It was a small slice, but I'm feeling a little nauseous. : ( Three years ago, a little late-night cake was nothing....I still have much work to do. Weekend, where did you go?!

I am NOT clicking on that link, Larry.
Ah. Of course. Sorry. I won't click on it at work, either. It's not that bad, though. The pictures are very small.
I'm sorry I clicked on it to see what all the fuss was about. I'm sure the majority of people who frequent that place don't have 8" wangs or inflatable fake boobies.

Indeed it is, mister man. Click the link and inspect the people they've cut and pasted onto the top border! They all look like quasi-human blow up dolls.
Right now I'm really into baking Bosc pears with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. I can't get enough!
Yum, Sally! I'm having a hot buttered rum, for medicinal purposes. I'm having trouble straightening all the way up today - no clue why.I'm going through old shebangs, and adding the songs I really like to my ipod. The trouble is, I left some of the playlists at work, so I don't know who I'm listening to half the time.
It's not a big deal, but it bothers the cataloguer part of me. :\
I'm working on the shebangs, drinking Darjeeling tea, and watching the foggy mist outside. Three more weeks of school and then I'll become a relaxed, non-guilt-ridden, thesis writer.
I got home from school yesterday and napped from 4-7, then got in bed at 10 and slept another 9 hours. I bet my metabolism has stopped.

Right now I'm having a really hard time getting my ass in gear. It's already 9:30!I assume my entire CDs have made Jackie's ipod:)
Sounds like you needed the sleep, Sallers...
I should be grading right now.
Nah.
as for me, lunch at my desk as i have some things to catch up on. writing some biz blogs today for our companies.
Right now I am in Seattle visiting my sister. Woo-hoo!Going to the U Village today to eat Thai for lunch.
Tomorrow I have to drive back home :( but I've been here since last Wednesday, so no complaining.
I really enjoy Seattle in the spring and summer. :)
Thanks! Glad to be here. Am now eating a chicken panini but have to get back to work soon. Updating the company website metrics & making a list items for website optimization. Yippeee!
I just picked up my new glasses, two pairs. I now have glasses just for computing, and it's WONDERFUL. Before, I had to choose between making the stuff on the screen so big I had to scroll left and right to see everything on the screen, or having everything fit, but to have to tip my head back to see through the reading part of my bifocals to have it in focus.
Plus, my new glasses are super cute!
Hi Kevin The Barbarian. Its the first time I'm working on website optimization - its pretty interesting!
As soon as I can, Larry. How soon I can post pictures depends on if I can upload them onto Chris' computer, or if I have to wait until mine gets back from the shop.
I am slowly easing back into the world after several days in the valley countryside, surrounded by buttes and the Red River and farmland and forest and animals!, where I was completely disconnected from phone service, internet, electricity. The animals had just recently birthed, so while I was there, I got to watch a week-old baby goat following his mama, Lily, around the field. She was still v. protective and wouldn't let us near him. It was fun to watch all the same. And the sheep were frolicking and hopping about like large bunnies. They're so playful! Man, the weather was perfect... I didn't want to leave. I'm returning to work tomorrow. I think I'm ready to go back to work.
