I'm just about to present the project I've been working on for the past few weeks to the VP in charge of my future. ::holding breath::

Good Luck Larry, I'm sure you will do fine.
You'll do great, Larry! Heidi, you, not so much. You need electricity.
:)
Right now I'm looking for a new car. My 95 Saturn has, I'm afraid, reached the end of the road.
(Breaks into Boys II Men song)
I am hoping Larry's presentation is going well. Also that Heidi will have a good time convening with nature. : )
Thanks everyone. I certainly appreciate the kind, supportive thoughts. The particular VP is a good guy, but a very frustrating person with whom to communicate sometimes. He and I have different philosophies when it comes to dealing with people within management systems, he being more the define/dictate/audit performance type, whereas I favor the inform/inspire/recognize approach. I trust people more than he does.Fortunately, he's one who seems to appreciate people who speak their minds -- which I will do. Uh ... and I did that today.
I wasn't fired. So that's a good sign.
Right now I'm sitting at my desk for the fifth straight hour, trying to finish grading this stack of papers before tomorrow's class.
I've been watching a momma squirrel and her babies in a tree outside my window all morning. She first tried to take them all en masse from this tree to another in my neighbor's yard, yet the damn dogs on the other side of my back fence scared them all. So she resorted to luring one at a time down the tree, and then she'd pick them up in her mouth and they'd hold onto her neck, while she raced across my yard, up the fence, and up the neighbor's tree.
It's been a nice distraction, rooting her on all morning.

Larry the Train guy - Still - yeah!
I would get nothing done if I had a squirrel show like that outside my window. Instead I have the maintenance guys pruning the trees. Not nearly as cute. ; )Good luck, Larry! Break a leg, or whatever train guys are supposed to do... Bust a rail?
She just ran by with a ginormous nut or snack/treat of some kind, apparently they're done with the move and now it is lunchtime.
Seems early for baby squirrels. But I guess she knows what she's doing. Grey squirrels, Sally? Here in Omaha we have some black grey squirrels. That is, they're grey squirrels, but they're black.
Moving day isn't quite over, she's still going by with these enormous bundles in her mouth. I wonder if they're food, or maybe even a second little batch of babies?
Maybe it's lining for the new nest that she moved all her babies to?I'm eating cheese right now, by the way. And a Fuji apple. I knew you all would want to know that. :D

Do you bake it Larry?
Do you bake it Larry?
Right now this Dutch boy is discovering what "mac and cheese" is. Ziss is tasteful wiss ze skwirrel?
I love baked mac and cheese. I love it with tomatoes. Or ham. Or broccoli (in a particular mood) or ham. Bacon is good on top.
Right now I'm up, 2:30AM. I wish I wasn't. Normally I don't mind that much but I can't modify my day much...I have to observe a student teach at 8:19 then hang around for a late afternoon student awards thing. So I've got all day just sort of, um, sitting there. I'm pretty much caught up before the rush. Maybe I'll go to the library and sleep.
BACON!Sorry... I heard it calling out from my computer.
RA, are you really able to sleep at the library? They must have comfy chairs there.
Yeah, what's with the oddly specific student teaching time, RA?I'm feeling sad, because my Teen Book Group ended last night, and I don't know if it's going to be able to start up again in the fall. It may not survive all the budget cuts. :(
How much can a teen book group cost? That sucks.8:19 is when the class started. Don't ask me why. I just showed up to watch. I sat by the fish tank and watched the fish while I was supposed to be observing. But from what I did see of the student, well, he did a good job:)
Oh, Sherrie, the library has awesome chairs...
The Presbyterian church I visit every now and then has an 11:27 and a 5:05. Right now, I'm grumbling to myself about the way the guitar always disappears when I want it most. I bet those boys in 106 took it again....
I wish I could give you mine--I haven't played it since I arrived at school. So much for being in the jazz ensemble, huh? It's resting in its case beneath my bed.
I'm going to happy hour. I'm uber happy at this moment (see Woot thread) and I'm only going to get happier on $2 margaritas.
We've all seen pictures of Sarah drunk, thanks to the "beer goggles" thread, and she looks like she'll have a damn good time at Happy Hour:)
