How can you be posting and watching BSG at the same time? I'll be giving you a test later, pay attention, important stuff revealed!
It's fun. You should visit sometime. How's Florida? We have family in Palm Beach. I haven't gone to visit in over a year, though.
I'm in Orlando.. well it's warm now. A couple of weeks ago, some days were so cold! I got sick since i'm not used to it. I'll be so sad when i leave, i'll miss the cool breezy weather.
I'd love to be in the West Village or in West Palm Beach. I'm cozied up with chamomile and I'm trying out some J.M. Coetzee on RA's recommendation, now that I've finished The Feast of Love.
Y'know, I've never been one hankering for a tropical island before, but that's what I'm longing for.
Wow, Lori, you weren't kidding. This week's was a really pivotal episode. It's one that I'm going to rewatch tomorrow morning when the Maker's has left the system and I'm better able to pay attention to what's going on. This reminds me that there's another thread elsewhere that would be better suited to my BSG musings.
Also, may I suggest the ever-alluring Hawaii as a welcome break from the North-West gloom? You really can't go wrong with one of those isles of splendor.
I grew up in Brooklym, Matthew, and then lived on the Upper West Side and Soho for many years. Did the NY thing. Succeeded. Got sick of the noise, smells, stress, and decided I'd like to see some sky when I went for a walk, haha! But NY is great when you're young. Then I got old and wanted some creature comforts, nature, quiet, a kid, and I realized that would require a much larger income than I would ever get!
Riverside Park is my favorite. I loved looking at the house boats. Ever been to the Cloisters in the Bronx, Matthew? Loved it there too.
I have! Haven't been there in a little while, though. I generally never leave Manhattan. Wait, that's not completely true; I head over to Brooklyn on a rather consistent basis.
Where do you live now? Your profile says Princeton, beautiful area, but then you say NY?? That's a great winter picture.
Ah I really wanted to go to Princeton and applied early admission, but alas, didn't get it, so in a huff, didn't roll over my application.Haha! In hindsight, it would have been all wrong for me!
Welcome, Karencilla!I hope you guys found something fun to do last night...I fell asleep by nine...
Right now I'm watching the NBA three point contest, drinking coffee, and thinking I very, very much need a shower...even Sally and Logan would think so.
Whoo, I was smelly. It would surprise me. I'm about to work out, though, so it's going to be a clean type of smelly...

Thank you!!! i already love this group.
Right now I'm drinking coffee and watching the clock...have to leave for the Y by five if I'm going to get some elliptical time in before basketball. I also have to return a book to the library on the way.Good morning!
i'm impressed with your schedule RA. nice job. you have to stick the book in one of those drop off slots?
Thanks, Kevin...yep...in the drop slot...I'm home with the kids this morning, since they're off of school, then I have to haul ass to school to teach at 1:10...
Goooooood Morning Milwaukee. How long does it take you to get to Y RA? Just wondering because we are contemplating joining, but the closest one is probably twenty minutes away. Is it open 24/7?
right now i am reviewing all the business from our e-commerce site's and doing all my work correspondence and semi-dorking around with goodreads
The Y is only maybe six, seven minutes away, Jim. It's open M-F 5AM to 9PM (I think), Saturdays 6AM to 8PM, Sundays 8:30AM to 6PM (I think, again). I was kind of against rejoining, honestly, but my wife loves taking the kids, etc., and I played hoops two to four times a week for years until we quit about 18 months ago. We just rejoined in early January. The fee is pretty outragous, though...about 65 bucks a month for the family. So I try to go to the Y and use their machines instead of using home elliptical since we're paying anyway. I use the home elliptical when I can't make it to the Y or it's too cold to leave the house at 4:45AM. Oh, there's also a twenty-four hour place nearby, one of those places you use a card to get into but they don't have a person supervising. Right now I'm listening to my six year old's arguments as to why he should be allowed to watch television before 11AM.
Right now I'm trying to decide what to do about lunch now that my date canceled on me. Go home? Fast food? Chips from the vending machine?
Damn the ol' cancelled lunch date, it puts a hole in the day, and then scrambling for lunch.
Right now I'm on break from teaching. Should I clean my office? Nah. Tomorrow is an office day. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
Wow Anthony--you get up at 2am!!! Do you go to bed early or are you a kind of person that needs very little sleep? I always wanted to be one of those poeple, but I could sleep 10 hours a day, easy!My daughter and I got in a "debate" last night. She wanted to start baking cookies at 8:30 pm on a school night and I said no. More and more she's getting angry when I say no. She's 16 and feels like she knows just as much as I do about most things, these days. I'm pretty flexible and listen and decide things based on all the factors that I can, and she knows that when I say no, it isn't this automatic thing, but she's changing a lot, naturally, and she is having more trouble with the word no. We've done good so far, and I think we will still do good--I'm not complaining. I'm just seeing this change.
Hey Leslie...I'm in central time zone, so it's 4AM for me:) I usually go to sleep by nine, so I get about seven hours a night. My oldest is ten, so I'm headed right down your alley, Leslie...any tips, let me know:)
Oh, and right now I'm in the office...had a leisurely (sp?) chat with a couple colleagues...starting to get my shit together for the day...
Hang in there Leslie, my daughter hit that age and was sure that she knew everything, little by little she realized mom and dad weren't as stupid as we seemed. She now even asks for advice sometimes.
