I always find the open hood in the background intriguing. Is that the monk's car? Did he open the hood to avoid getting a parking ticket?
But Richard, WHY are you deboning dead giraffes?I really want to know in case you're creepy and I need to avoid you at all costs.
Purely for fictional purposes, I assure you, Julie. I think it's safe to say I'm a fabulous taxidermist.
Heh-Okay, it's good to know it's fictional deboning.
You should say these things up front so people don't go around assuming you're a poaching, deboning fiend.
Like how some of us are scared of Kevin cause he eats live pigeons.
I'm currently in Philly. I took the train this afternoon. It was lovely out during the early afternoon. It has since become rather chilly.Oh, Penn...
I'm concerned that I self-immolated in protest and y'all just carry on, talking about giraffes and weekend plans. Now I know how much I'd be missed, shit.
Heh. Now y'all find some concern. I love how everyone just rolls with the punches here. Blah, blah, blah giraffe blah point, blah Philly spam missile, blah blah.
I think he's setting traps for pigeons, Larry.I'm thoroughly enjoying some chicken soup. Chris made a special trip to the store for me so I can finally have proper sick person food, hurrah! Soup, and toasted extra crispy English muffin with peanut butter, and more tea. Aaaahhh... so soothing!
Well, yeah, Sally. Duh! ; ) I'm glad the postcards are finally arriving. My mom said she got hers today, too.
Actually I have been gone all day volunteering at our church. We had an absolutely free dinner today ( no donations accepted) and I helped serve over 5000 free meals to our community. Very cool to be a part ofJulie - I didn't really eat a pigeon but I did debone a dodo bird
Kevin wrote: Julie - I didn't really eat a pigeon but I did debone a dodo bird Is that what you served at your church dinner, Kevin? Uh, were you aware...
HURRAH! I'm hooome! And I can tell because: I've eaten more in a single meal than I have in the last five days!
I was told to eat more and that I was getting fat in the same sentence!
My arms are still shaking a little from 6 hours non-stop driving!
There are giant Asian pears!!
I am rolling about the house happily! A disheveled, sleepy-eyed ball of happiness and food! More exclamations for sleep-deprivation!
P.S. Thank you, Larry for the well-wishes. I did drowse a little at the wheel a couple times, but traffic was okay, and I didn't swerve too much.
P.P.S. EIGHTY new posts? Self-immolation and debone-ing of questionable poultry? If I didn't know you all any better, I'd be concerned for my reading comprehension/sanity. <3
Glad you're home safely, Nools! Yikes! But if you get sleepy on the road on the way home, pull over and get some fresh air, or a catnap, or some Dr. Pepper, okay?
Thank you, Jackie! I should! That is what an intelligent person would do, I think.I was so ridiculously caffeine-saturated, it was like I wasn't actually falling asleep? That doesn't make sense. Trying again: The girl responsible for keeping me awake/us alive told me my eyes were shutting, but I didn't even realize that they were. This would happen mid-moderately coherent sentence. We traded off eventually, but not before I got a generous share of traffic.
I am sorry, everyone who was driving around me! I am sorry, Asian women, for perpetuating an unfair driving stereotype against our kind!
Nools! I'm glad you arrived safely. Never ever ::wags finger:: drive sleepy again.
I once dozed off and woke when my arms jerked - but I didn't know I'd fallen asleep, I just thought the steering wheel was coming loose.
It sounded more probable at the time.

The moon is shining through the windows of Provosts Tower. The lights in the quad are glowing in the diffused haze. Center City can be seen in the distance. I can't wait to be home.
Nighttime walks without fear of being mugged/raped are some of the things I miss the most when I'm in Berkeley. : ) It's LA, so there were no stars, but my home's nestled in hills that smell like rosemary and wildflowers. I always miss this so much.
Great post, Nools. I would miss that, too. Pretty soon I'll be able to sit on the back deck all night without getting cold.Right now I'm waiting for the kids to wake before the Easter thing commences. I thought about going running, but I think I'll wait until after the Easter thing.
Yesterday was a long day, sort of, so today I'm trying to focus on that Easter/rebirth thing. My wife and kids fly to Florida for a week tomorrow. I hate when they're gone, and I hate more than anything having a bad day before they leave, then regretting the bad day for a week while they're gone.
