BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — The revelation that Arnold Schwarzenegger has an out-of-wedlock child with a former employee turned into a tabloid frenzy Wednesday, as scores of reporters and photographers swarmed a quiet suburban cul-de-sac in the middle of California farm country amid unconfirmed reports it was the home of the child's mother.

The woman was not at the Bakersfield home when the flash mob arrived, its satellite TV trucks filling her quiet Bakersfield street and spilling onto another one. The media descended after the woman's name surfaced in several Internet reports.

message 6311: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Right now I am trying not to cry at work.

message 6312: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Thanks, Barb, but a hug would probably make the crying happen--I just found out that my health insurance is tripling in cost and is only good until 9/30.

Lyzzibug ~Still Breathing~ (lyzzibug) | 708 comments *picks jaw off the ground*

That's horrible, Jammies.

message 6314: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) I echo Lyzzibug's comment! Big HUG!

janine | 7709 comments That really sucks. I'll try not to hug you until you're somewhere you feel comfortable crying.

Oh crap Jammies. I hope you have something handy to kick.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments That's really awful, Jammies. I'm fuming at the health insurance industry right now. Grrrrr!

Jammies, that is horrible. Do you have other options?

message 6323: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I hate reading about that stuff. But heck, there's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH HEALTHCARE in the US.

Or so some would have you believe.

message 6324: by [deleted user] (new)

Can you say that a little louder, I didn't quite catch that Larry.

Stina (stinalee) | 749 comments Speaking of health care... here are those delicious cakes I made within the last few weeks. See how fun the fondant is??

Jammies... can I make you voodoo doll (of your healthcare administrator or boss or whoever made that shit decision) cake?

Phil | 11852 comments Right now I'm relaxing after a full day. I started with an early 60 mile ride out to (and up) Utah hill, then saw Kung Fu Panda 2 with the family. I had a bowl of cereal for dinner (because that's what I wanted, dammit!), and some applesauce for dessert.

message 6328: by [deleted user] (new)

I like cereal for dinner occasionally. Nothing wrong with that.

message 6329: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) finishing the bottle of wine

message 6330: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Right niow I can't understand why after I clicked mark all read I get more red things popping up with 40 posts unread. Don't get it.

message 6331: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finishing up my final project for the class I'm taking, then I'm off until September.

Let the games begin.

Larry, man, it was something like five hours ago you were posting about drinking. How many sheets to the wind are you, my friend?

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I wonder if Larry heaved and if Clark started drinking when he finished his project.

I'm on the couch watching Sportscenter. I had an interesting early morning. Around 2:30AM a cop knocked on my door...I was sleeping on the front porch, so I was right there. I thought, "shit, can I get busted for peeing out the front door?" but in fact someone had sideswiped my wife's van. This is the second time this has happened on Memorial Day weekend in the past ten years. I think drunks use our street as a sneak-route past downtown on holiday weekends. Anyway, I think she'll park in back from now on. Also, the dumbass who hit the car lost his license plate, according to the cop, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DAMAGE. Heh. But anyway I didn't really get to sleep after that. And the car's in bad shape, probably can't drive it for a while.

message 6342: by [deleted user] (new)

Bugger.

message 6343: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Street parking sucks.

Not yet. I'm going to tie the celebration into my post-softball game suds-a-thon tonight. We're 0-4 - losing those four games by a total of seven runs - and I've run a mini-marathon out in left chasing down fly balls. What better reason to drink?

That sucks RA, more for the inconvenience than anything else.

message 6346: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) I just finished meeting with a general contractor and a flooring contractor and waiting for my insurance adjuster. Last Tuesday a water line burst in a bathroom on my main floor. My daughter and I were both at work and came home to a disaster. My entire finished basement was flooded, partial ceiling collapse, and all my hardwood floors on the main floor were ruined. Basically everything in the house has to be moved out and redone. Contractors hope to have everything done by July.....
