Congratulations, Knarik. Good job!

Sigh. I wish I was back in college.

Félix (habitseven) Today, while walking around in the expo area of the Berkshire Hathaway (Warren Buffett) annual shareholders meeting, we stumbled upon Leslie Baker, the guy who plays Stanley Hudson on The Office.

Hew was very gracious, and talked with us for several minutes. A very cool guy, and one of my favorites on the show.

Was he there as a shareholder?

message 6206: by Knarik (new)

Knarik Thanks everyone! and Thanks Larry :))
Oh, and that is nice of him to stop and talk.

message 6207: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Not sure. He could have been a guest, since the film they showed at the start of the meeting included Warren interacting with the cast of The Office.

Félix (habitseven) I have officially abandoned my efforts to use Apple Safari web browser. It has a lot of neat features -- but it doesn't run worth crap in XP.

Yes, yes, I know. No one cares about this.

message 6209: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I do Larry, mine ran real well in XP, but Sandboxie doesn''t allow me to run it now.

message 6210: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments i use safari. neato features? i had no idea! i just like the way it looks.

I did, too. But I find that Firefox has all the same things and looks just as good. I find all Apple software to be slow in starting in XP. Do you find that with Safari, J?

I used "find" in three sentences in a row.

message 6212: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) I just got a MacPro laptop and would love to know what neat features are available on Safari. I'm having a bit of a learning curve between Mac and Windows. For one thing I don't have a home or end key. There's got to be a fast way to get to the top of a page or to the bottom.

Sigh - gotta love the learning curve.

i have vista.

message 6215: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) Oh, I'll figure it out. I have no fear of bunching keys to see what they'll do. Since I posted ^^ I've found out how to quickly turn off my laptop and how to show all the open safari windows in one window.

Still haven't figured out how to find home and end though. LOL!

You have my condolences.

The most annoying thing about Firefox is that you can't copy a tab. I used to do that a lot in IE.

Sarah | 13814 comments Congrats, Knarik!

message 6219: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Right now I am hoping for someone to put me out of my misery.

*looks at TCers*

Anyone?

message 6220: by [deleted user] (new)

Can I help you Jammies?

message 6221: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Will you hit me really hard with a hammer or chloroform me, please?

message 6222: by [deleted user] (new)

Chloroform is more my style. I wouldn't want to hurt you.

message 6223: by Jammies (new)

Jammies I'll take it. You couldn't hurt me any worse than this cold is making me feel. :p

message 6224: by [deleted user] (last edited May 02, 2011 07:14PM) (new)

Awhhhh poor Jammies. I hate yuckie head colds.

::offers chicken soup, panadol, cough syrup, throat lozenge, codral cold & flu tablets...desperately digs into the medicine cabinet looking for anything that might help. Offers everything knowing full well nothing will help...offers to tuck Jammies in bed::

message 6225: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) ::holds fingers up in a cross::

Sorry you're sick Jammies. As my mother would tell me... drink lots of fluids and get plenty of rest. Hugs,

message 6226: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1678 comments Poor Jammies. Take some so you can sleep medicine and snooze through the worst of it.

I am home alone *sniff* Mr. Carol is at a sleep study.

message 6227: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Oh I hated my sleep study.

message 6228: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Thank you everyone, I'm not all the way well, but better today.

Carol, was Mr. C's study only for one night?

message 6229: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1678 comments Yes, one overnight. We're waiting for results.

I got results today. The neuropathy is very likely permanent. boo.

message 6230: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Carol, I didn't know you had neuropathy too--what kind and what cause? Unless I'm being too snoopy, in which case, just ignore me.

message 6231: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1678 comments Chemo induced peripheral neuropathy, how about you? Also the meds give me arthritis-like pain, so double whammy on my hands and feet.
I am going to give Lyrica a try. Neurontin did not alleviate enough of the pain for me to stumble around all zombified. No offense.

message 6232: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments I'm so sorry to hear it, Carol. That sounds awful. I hope the Lyrica relieves some of the pain.

message 6233: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1678 comments Thanks very much, Jonathan.

message 6234: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) So sorry, Carol.

In my imaginary little world all TC'ers are healthy and happy. That is the way I want you all to be. But we do live in the real world, I know I am rambling.

Carol you have my heartfelt sympathy. ::hugs::

message 6236: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Gah, Carol, that sucks! I'm lucky in that Neurontin just gives me heartburn. MS-caused neuropathic tingling in hands, arms, feet and legs and sometimes face, here. *hugs*

you're not rambling, that's how my imagination works too.

i had to look up neuropathy, my sympathy to anyone who has it.

and finally: proof we're not all figments of the australian's imagination.

Jammies Carol, I can stand a glomp! *glomps Carol and Barb*

message 6240: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11852 comments Relaxing just a few minutes after a busy, busy morning on the IronMan route. We volunteered to help at Aid Station #1 (10 miles into the bike route). There were about 2000 racers this year, from the extremely fit elite athletes down to the somewhat pudgy weekend warriors who had this on their bucket list.

It's an amazing trial that I will likely never try. But volunteering is fun, and now I've lost my voice from cheering them on.

message 6241: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1678 comments Good job, Phil! I'm sure they couldn't do it without help.

Thanks! And I was wearing my Tahs cap the entire time!

message 6245: by [deleted user] (new)

Right now it is Mothersday, too early in the morning for anyone else to be awake. I'm still in bed just listening to the quiet of the morning. I am looking forward to the delicious scrambled eggs my kids will make me when they eventually wake up.

message 6247: by [deleted user] (new)

I hope wearing the cap gets them through the game this weekend Phil. It's a game they should win, but almost the entire front line is out with injuries. Go the Tahs.
