Yes. Which one do you want to do first?

message 102: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments You wanna do Hurt?

message 103: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Sure. I am going to try to catch up on the mountain tonight but I may switch over and start it instead. Otherwise I will start tomorrow. I am enjoying the mountain but I am just not in the mood for horror right now even if it is a good one.

message 104: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I love my horror, but its nice to switch it up. I'm even looking at SciFi titles and I usually despise SciFi...lol.

message 105: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I'll start and make a thread tomorrow. I am very curious about this one and hope I won't be disappointed.

I'm going to list the rest of the buddy reads we had discussed in case any one else wants to join. If I just list them now it will give every one a little notice.

Drowning Instinct Drowning Instinct by Ilsa J. Bick

Body Rides by Richard Laymon Body Rides

Flawed Flawed by Kate Avelynn

Monster Lake

I don't remember the name of the other one you suggested.

I have never liked sci fi either but I have considered giving one a try as well.

Am I forgetting any?

message 110: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Nope. Think you got 'em.

message 111: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Hyperion and Necroscope where both mentioned, I don't want to forget about them so I am putting them here. Also hoping more people will want to join.

message 112: by Andy (new)

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments Good idea, Justin. We talked about Buddy reading the few sleepers. I am interested in Perfume The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind and Hell House by Richard Matheson from Addy's list.

message 113: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I missed addys, probably because they are the only ones not linked I will have to go back and check them

message 114: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I will buddy read all of those. Not sure about Hyperion. Its prob pricey. I will have to check it out.

message 115: by Andy (new)

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments It's a pretty common book so keep an eye out at used book stores.

message 116: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I found it, so I can def read it now:)

message 117: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
It's not horror but me and addy are starting Some Are Sicker Than Others Don if anyone wants to join us

message 118: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Anyone be interested in reading the shining with me?

message 119: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) I promised my son I would read A Game of Thrones in February because he is in to it. I also plan on reading The Abominable since I already purchased it. Anyone want to buddy read either of those in February?

message 120: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Are you reading the first in the series? I would read both, but id have to see if I could get a copy of AGOT.

message 121: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) Yes, the first in the series. I'm assuming I can get it on kindle loan from the library. He was able to get one of the later ones on kindle from the library.

message 122: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Ok. I can see if I can borrow it. Which do u want to read first?

message 123: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) It will be A Game of Thrones. On Feb 1 my son will be asking if I have started it yet ;)

message 124: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Should I request it now? I don't know if I'll get it right away.

message 125: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Hey Scott, I got Game of Thrones and it looks really good. Do u want to start a thread on this? Just let me know and I'll set one up.

message 126: by Andy (new)

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments So many great books, so little time! Game of Thrones and The Shining (reread in preparation for Doctor Sleep) are both on the tip top of my tbr pile.

Can I join GoT? Addie, wanna also read the Shining?

I'm right at the point where The Passage changes tracks, so I'm thinking of putting it down for something easier until I have more time.

message 127: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Awesome Andy! Course u can join. I'll set up a thread tonight. And The Shining! Yay! Was hoping someone would join me. Gary wants to read Dr Sleep too, so I'm trying to read Shining first. You can join us on that one too. I'll set up a thread for that as well. Was gonna start on Monday. That good for you?

message 128: by Andy (new)

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments Monday is perfect. Have you read the Shining before. I did in 6th grade (32 now), so I'm really looking forward to a trip down memory lane. I wonder how much went over my head as a kid?

message 129: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I've never read much of king. Don't know why because I do like him. Heck, I lived in Maine for a long time...lol, should have been required. This is only my second book from him. I barely remember the movie, so this should be good.

message 130: by Andy (new)

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments Wow, I'll be excited to hear what you think. What was the other book you read?

message 131: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I'm going to be starting Fantastic Orgy soon if anyone wants to join.

message 132: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments The other book I read was Under the Dome and Mile 81, but that was a short. Loved them both! Can't wait for the Dome series to start again.

If I could get a loan I could. Have requested it on Lendle and BookLending.

message 134: by Andy (new)

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments I've yet to read Apeshit, so I think I'll start there for Mellick.

message 135: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Andy, don't. Apeshit sucks, I hear he originally wrote it as a movie script and then converted it to novel but he did a terrible job and it is horribly written to the point I couldn't read it. Start with cannibals of candyland.

message 136: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Yes! I vouch for that suggestion Andy.

message 137: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I just got a print copy of cannibals of candyland. It is one of those books that was so good I had to put a copy on my bookshelf as well as my kindle.

message 138: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Nice Justin! I could see myself reading it again. It was pretty awesome!

message 139: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
i am already trying to figure out when i am going to be able to do a reread of it. i have so much going on, between group reads, buddy reads, and challenges. i may need to just take a month off and do nothing but personal reads. maybe in may for the month of my birthday.

message 140: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) Thanks for setting up the thread Addy. I was out on a hike with the boy scouts.

message 141: by Andy (new)

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments Thanks for the rec guys.

message 142: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Anyone care to read a short novella, The Humans Under the Bed? Its only 63 pages.

message 143: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Would anyone be interested in reading Dagon by Fred Chappell? I'm gonna take this one slow like a couple of chapters a day.

message 144: by Andy (new)

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments No thanks, I'm full...

message 145: by Kate (new)

Kate | 1106 comments Mod
I don't have either of those, Addy. Sorry.

message 146: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments That's ok. Dagon is expensive as an eBook. I'm still waiting for it to arrive.

message 147: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I would do humans under the bed if I had it. I thought I had strange fucking stories which contains that one but I guess not.

message 148: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) I don't have either.

message 149: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) Anyone still in the Darkfuse book club? I could buddy read one of those short stories.
