Lol yeah i didnt want to think it either, but you never know.. ugh may is so far away, i need to know what happens!!
i think that deep down, he still loves Rose, but his Stirgoi senses 'overpower' his old character. He knows he should love Rose, but all he feels now is possession with maybe an inkling of love.
oh yeah like his memories of her show that he should but his soul cant cuz he doesnt have a soul (YET) and so thats why he wanted her to choose willingly
The book is sooo good! Can't wait for the next one!!!!!
Oh dear! well i wish i could be a confident that dimetri's going to live, but i just can't help but think that we won't find out the answer untill Spirt Bound or the next one after that!!By the way the book is over 500 pages long, so anything can happen you'll just have to wait to find out!

I only hope that Mead isn't going to stretch the storyline so much.it's one important thing that I liked about the series.it was brief and concise,but full of unexpected events!
however,I think the beginning of BP was a little slow compared to her style of writing.I hope she doesn't change it.(her style I mean!)
This is going to be long haha. But I haven't written on here yet so bear with me.I know Dimitri is a strigoi and all, but I hated his character in this book. I've always been a Rose and Dimitri fan but now I kind of like Rose and Adrian together. And I'm pretty sure Rose was a blood whore in this book, considering she let a strigoi drink her blood twice a day and also did other sexual things with him. She also was going to let Nathan drink her blood too. I was so disappointed in her for getting involved with a strigoi and letting him drink her blood, since they are her absolute enemy and she's hated them so much since Mason's death. But she wasn't even close to being as bad as the regular blood whores, so it shouldn't really count...plus, she's Rose and we all love her. :)
So I was talking to a friend and she thinks that in Spirit Bound, Adrian will end up being the spirit user who helps Dimitri. I didn't think so at first, but think about it. In Blood Promise, the whole point of the Avery storyline was so everyone knows that being bound to more than one person is dangerous. Lets just say that whoever saves Dimitri has to literally bring him back from the dead, since Strigoi are the undead. So, whoever makes Dimitri alive again will be bound to him. Now, back to the "you shouldn't be bound to more than one person" thing. Lissa is bound to Rose, and every other spirit user in the book has a bondmate. Except Adrian (and Victor's brother I think but he's already unstable and we won't know anything about him until the next book). If Rose asks Adrian to do it for her, I'm sure he would, since he would do a lot for Rose. So what if, in the end, Adrian and Dimitri have a bond? That was just a friend's theory. Honestly, I would cry if that happened haha. It would be weird since both of them have feelings for her.
I know everyone will probably hate me for saying this, but Dimitri was an asshole (most of the time) in the last book, and I'm rooting for Rose and Adrian. I've always loved Adrian, and I wouldn't have minded him and Rose together in the other books, but Dimitri was just too awesome then. Now after reading this book, Dimitri was so different that I couldn't even like him anymore. Adrian changed a lot (in a good way) and obviously it was for Rose. I'm just trying to figure out why Mead made him change so much? I know it was so we would all love Adrian more, but why should we need to? She must be setting something up for the next book. Anyway, I do think Adrian really cares for Rose, and I hope they end up together. But I don't think that will happen, so don't worry people. :)
Oh and I thought the next book comes out April 2010?
I have to agree and disagree with Kaylie.... What she said about the whole bond thing... I thought about that a TON after the book but is he really undead.. because in the book he had rose feel his heart beat! If that means hes undead then would he have a heart beat? And then The reason Dimitri was as asshole ... was because of what he was... if you remember when he had ahold of that ring with the healing charm on it he was kinda himself... so I don't think he was meaning to be an ass he just couldn't help it! I think it would be Nice if Rose and Adrian would be together but I don't see it happening either because Dimitri is Roses soul mate! I kind see Adrian dying to bring Dimitri back from whatever he is because Adrian Loves Rose that much!!! But i don't see them getting together... Damki is just too Important to kill off completely... Mead I think would get aloud of hate mail about that!!! I want Damki and Rose to betogether... they complete each other!!!

That is so true! And well phrased! I feel like he KNOWS that he loved her and therefore he feels as if he STILL SHOULD love her, but his strigoi insticts overpower that feel of his. But it is still deep down in there. He just need to be 'awakened'. Tee hee.

Kaylie, i agree with ya, but the thing about Adrian is that there has never been a moroi and dhamphir relationship. Even her mother failed. Queen Titianna will surely give her a hard time and I don't think it is worth it. I think Rose gave Adrian a chance because she was trying to move on and cuz she thought he was died. I don't think Rose will ever consider another man besides Dimitri.
Yes, both Chrissy and Sophia have good points. But who knows? There are still two books left. A lot can happen.
Hey after listening to everyone's conversation I thought this theory, bare with me: Okay I have a feeling that in spirit bound we are going to learn more about the element of spirit which is obvious. I think that everyone that has spirit is going to gather around and learn about what everyone can do. Rose and lissa will probably talk to victor or try to free him with the help of rose's father, Abe. I think that rose will finish school and become a guardian because I know rose keeps all of her promises. I also think that rose will be the best guardian because she will be training with Alberta. I think she will also learn more about Nathan and galina. Also galina and dimitri's relationship. I think rose will communicate with dimitri's grandmother and his family. I think that we will not see Dimitri in the next book. In the sixth book I think their will be a war against the stigori which Dimitri will be leading. This time I think the moroi will also join the fight and titianna will step down her throne and lissa will be queen... Maybe.
You know... something that intrigued me was that he didn’t make love to her. And when she asked him why he just said it would be much better if they both were Strigoi. To me, it was an excuse… He wanted to do it just like her, but he resisted. Maybe there’s some reason. One thing that also makes me think about it is that the blond Strigoi said that Dimitri’s relationship with Rose as a damphir was dangerous to him… Maybe its because the love he felt for her could soften the darkness of his soul…

Nicole, that's interesting. I believe Dimka still loves Rose deep, deep, deep, deep down and that's what made him unable to kill her in the first place. He said he was trying to hide from her, but why? Dimitri could get killed by anyone, so it's not like he had to be afraid of dying, I think he didn't want to face her because maybe he was afraid of Rose seeing him that way and maybe hurting her. Sophia, I LOVE the idea of Lissa being queen! It would be the ultimate ending with everyone at court, including dhampir Dimitri and Rose and Eddie and Christian.

im totally with you but when she staked dimitri i cried so hard i mean ya he was srigoi and ya she didnt actually kill him but right then i thought she did and i was so upset! and what made it worse was i was at school in study hall!!! talk about embarrasing!!!!:)

Mead is a very mean woman, How could she allow her readers to go through more months of waiting for answers! Im going 2 go insain! I thought I did well waiting for blood Promise....Now its like not untill nxt year the next one comes out! CRUSHED
i soo agree... i finally read it, due to where i live i couldnt get the book til tuesday but i finished it with in hours... how could mead do this to us its gonna kill me waiting for sprit bound grrr... i cried when she thought she killed him n when lissa n christin broke up lol i dunno why haha..
Yep It was Pretty crushing. I kinda knew that she wouldn't have killed him 4 real cause there would then be no point in 6 books. But when she got the box and pulled out the stake I was like "Holly Crickit" I thought that the battle on the bridge and maze was hectic, the next book will be insain!. There must be so many more battles that will occur... Oh I hope Dimitri is restored! hahaha He has 2 be...maybe not untill book six....but he still has to be!

if you look at what Dimitri did,what would you call it,not considering his bad actions as a strigoi and his 'I want you' answers to Rose.
he didn't turn her against her own will,fought against Galina for her,and above all he saved her from her fall!
his own answer to Rose for ruling the world and all was also none sense,because he could do that with Galina or by turning any other powerful moroi /dhampir into a strigoi.
so,I conclude that he still loves her but he doesn't know that himself!he used 'want' instead of 'love' wrongly.it's like he didn't know how to explain his feelings.or in better words,it's kinda as if the word 'love' doesn't exist in a strigoi's vocabulary,if you know what I mean!!and that's why his last words to Rose were:"that's what I was supposed to say..."

well,it didn't happen.but the note and the stake in the end were much better than that!
I liked sydney too. She's cool. I think mead should get extra Kudos for actually researching alchemist. That was awesome. Also, the tatoos were cool too. I actually stopped reading and told my mom about that- I was so excited.

oh,if he's brought back,of course not!but after coming back to life,if he still remembers things,he may want Rose to kill him.because he feels so ashamed and sad of his own actions as a strigoi.

I told you guys spirit could prolly do magical things.. lol no pun intended. my theory was to infuse a stake with spirit-like roses ring-and stake one.. but i guess its just regular 'touch em' spirit.

lol Dafnii can't wait either i loved the last book when dimitri fell of the cliff i was so shocked i couldn't believe rose had actually 'killed' him, but then when she opened that box and found her stake and a note from dimitri i was so shocked i was thinking omg why aren't there more pages, i cant wait until may 18 2010 that is wayyyy too long. Do any of you think that when Rose leaves to hunt Dimitri that she will actually bring Lissa with her?

ok...so I think that Rose needs to move on and just kill Dimitri once and for all.I personally love Dimitri, but if I have to go through another book as unresolved as the last two have been, I'm going to go crazy. It's inevitable.

Okay people, all those Dimitri haters, consider one thing... Season two of Buffy. Angel became Angelus. He was an asshole. He did mean things. He killed Buffy's friends, and somehow, when he came back from Hell a few episodes later, everyone was still in love with him. Compare Angelus to Stigoi Dimitri... Doesn't that feel a little similar to you? Dimitri was actually kinder. There was several things he did that were completely out of character for a Strigoi, especially considering the previous three books. He acted on emotion, Nathan said it was 'destroy' him if Rose died, and he risked himself to stop her jumping from the bridge. This 'connection' that he has with her seems to be something that changes the way he acts. He has Strigoi tendencies, and still, he was far, far nicer than any of them we have been introduced to before. It was almost like an inner battle, like his soul is strong enough within him to try and fight off the 'evil' of a Strigoi, which is why he had moments.Considering that, he wouldn't actually have to be brought back from the dead and shadow-kissed. Just given the strength to fight the battle with himself.
