Daphne Q | 143 comments Here's my four-star review of "Cinder"...

I was dubious of this book... a version of Cinderella told in a futuristic mechanical world... but I think the author pulled it off for the most part.

The love story between the main character and the prince was handled in just the right way.

There were some funny moments with some of the robots.

It flowed pretty well and was interesting.

It missed a few beats... so not quite a 5... but close to it.

Emily | 21 comments I'm reading Burned by Sara Shepard. It's the 12th Pretty Little Liars books. I'm only on chapter 3, but I already know it's going to be good. I've read a few books in this series so far. You could say I'm pretty hooked.

I totally would have replied to this sooner (sorry) but I was quite busy.
I am actually on the last book of VA right now!!! AND I LOVE THEM!!!! And now that I'm pretty much done VA, Bloodlines makes more sense. And I watched the VA trailer this morning!!! I really like the actress they chose for Rose, but I'm not too sure about the movie yet...it looks okay, but not amazing, you know???

Oh my god! I love VA too <3 And Bloodlines is even better in my opinion, especially the latest book, The Indigo Spell. I just like the romance even better in Bloodlines because I love Adrian <3 I mean, Dimitri's cool too, and he's better for Rose, but Adrian and Christian are my favorite guy characters. Sydney and Rose are my favorite female characters.
As far as the movie goes, I agree. It looks okay. I just hope they stay on key with the book. I also don't like that Lissa's voice is Australian. But oh well, I guess.

message 813: by Marrie (new)

Marrie Does anyone know if you have to read The Books of The Baeryn by Shannon Hale in order? I borrowed the middle two from the library but don't have The Goose Girl so I'm a bit reluctant to start reading it. :/

message 814: by Maddie (new)

Maddie | 17 comments I'm reading The Abundance of Katherines by John Green. I'm trying to read them all and I only have this one and Will Grayson, Will Grayson to complete!
But I must say, if I had the choice, I'd be reading Allegiant, part of the Divergent series, because I love those books so much and cannot wait for it to come out! :D

message 815: by Marrie (new)

Marrie Decided not to read Enna Burning (The Books of Bayern, #2) by Shannon Hale since I don't have the first book in the series yet. Starting Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay instead.

Yeah I really like Adrian too and I didn't like how Rose treated him at the end of VA. So I hope he gets what he deserves in Bloodlines!!
Oh, the actress is Australian??? I didn't know that. I think she LOOKS like she could be Rose, cuz she's super pretty.
I'm going to be starting
The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2) by Richelle Mead now and I'm super excited to read it!!!!
I LOVE Christian too!!! He's awesome!!!

I don't either. Rose just kind of used him. It made me like her a bit less as a character. I've read all the books, but I won't spoil them for you.
No, not the actress that plays Rose. The one that plays Lissa xD
And yes, Christian is awesome! He and Lissa are an amazing couple, too.

kenzie (harrypotterknut) | 110 comments I just finished Chasing Brooklynand O.M.G. That book was amazing and I swear when I closed the book a little piece of my heart went with it! It was just gahhhh! Too good. I am now reading Looking for Alaska and I love love love!, John Green like seriously! I read The Fault in Our Stars and goodness.. I cried like a baby at the end because it was amazing and this one is already starting to be awesome. Alaska is totally bad ass. :)

Emilee (emlizzl) Well right now I'm reading Clockwork Princess (no spoilers please!), but I went to the library and saw the book "The Raven Boys" by Maggie stiefvater and so now I'm reading that but ill resume Clockwork Princess soon. I'm kinda confused in The Raven Boys it's just a little weird in on page 66 and idk. O_o

message 823: by Marrie (new)

Marrie I still haven't started Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay even though it's on my "currently reading" shelf because all week my teachers have been giving me tests so I've spent most of my time studying or staying after school to get help. Thank god it's a four day weekend this week so I'll probably just read it then.

ikr!?!? I was sooo upset!!! I'm almost done the Golden Lily now and it's SOOO obvious that Adrian likes Sydney!!! It's adorable!!!
OH the one that plays Lissa!!! Yeah, I don't really like her. She looks nothing like how I imagined her.

I agree. I wish they'd picked someone better. I like Rose, Dimitri, and Christian.
And ikr?! Sydney is so socially inept though. It's really adorable. Sydrian completes each other in a weird way, even though they're way different, they have so much in common.

Yes those actors look really good!!! The guy who is playing Dimitri doesn't look exactly like I imagined, but I like how he's Russian!!! That makes it more legit!!! And I like that the actor playing Christian is British!!! I wonder if he will try to cover up his accent...I hope not!!!
I really hope the movie is actually really good and close to the book so then they can make the rest of the series into movies and eventually Bloodlines!!!
Do you like VA or Bloodlines better??? I'm leaning close to liking Bloodlines better right now.
I'm on The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3) by Richelle Mead now and it's soooooooooooo good!!!!

I hope he will just because Christian isn't supposed to be British and it annoys me when actors do that. Me too! I would love to see Adrian on the big screen!
I like Bloodlines waaaaayyyy better. Sydney is a more relatable protagonist to me, though I like Rose too. But I kinda liked her less in the last three books of VA. I also like the romance better in Bloodlines.
Omg! TIS is so good! It's my favorite one so far! So many feels! *sobs*

Daphne Q | 143 comments My two-star review of "The Elite"...

I didn't think I'd like this book... and I was right. I didn't.
I found it a little too much like a fairy tale and a little demeaning to woman.
The plot, therefore, bored me.
There was some nice writing... hence, the two stars instead of one.

Yeah same thing with the Mortal Instruments movie (I still haven't seen it) but I heard all the Shadowhunters have British accents or something which was NOT in the book.
omg I finished TIS last night and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE ENDING!!!! It was absolutely adorable!! I agree with you, that Sydney's a better protagonist. She's easier to relate to. I'm really excited for the next one!!! Fiery Heart, right??? Love the title!!!
