What are you reading?
lol, it has been a while since I saw that movie. Ambien does some weird stuff to people who take it ... When my mom takes a tramadol it sucks because she has to take one ... but damn a high mom who babbles like crazy and says some weird shit is hilarious.
When I do one liners they are usually from an adam sandler movie or friday ... seriously I have seen billy madison, happy gilmore, and friday a million times.
It is kind of freaky when you say a random one liner and not many people get it cept for your sister.
O'doyle rules....
It's pretty obvious I will be reading all of Codex Alera straight through. I've finished
and
.Starting
I just finished my 14th book this month,
Running Hot (Arcane Society, # 5) by Jayne Ann Krentz. My next book is
Grave Secret (Harper Connelly #4) by Charlaine Harris
I read the posts on here but rarely post since I marathon read and finish my books too fast. I love your comments and recommendations I have started lots of new books based on your conversations. Now I am starting this
Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea HarrisonSomeday I should get and read the rest of the books in the series maybe…. Some of the quotes from this book make me lol.
“I am cursed with a terminal case of curiosity," he said. "I am jealous, selfish, acquisitive, territorial and possessive. I have a terrible temper, and I know I can be a cruel son of a bitch." He cocked his head. "I used to eat people, you know.”
I just finished my 15th book this month,
Grave Secret (Harper Connelly #4) by Charlaine Harris. My next book is
Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs

I finished
last night and started
finished
. it was actually really good. I ended up rating it 4 stars.now im thinking of starting
, looks good.
I'm busy reading
- which is pretty intense (which I'm LOVING!)but I did need a brief reprieve...so I read
which was surprisingly not too bad for a YA Romance. :) And then I decided it might be time to actually start reading some of the Freebies I got from Kindle, so I read
. It was fun!Now back to Memory of Light - (as much as Mat has been getting on my nerves... I'm looking forward to him handing the opposing army a thorough 'ass-whuppin'!;D
I just finished my 16th book this month,
Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs. My next book is
Fyre (Septimus Heap #7) by Angie Sage

Yay Llaph!! Can't wait to hear what you think (though we've probably spoiled half of it for you!)
Thanks Lannister! So far its been brilliant!
hair-pulling frustrating in places... But Brilliant!
Now is it just me? Or did Tuon just become a serious PAIN IN THE ASS!?!
Granted, Her and Min are proving somewhat entertaining! hehehe
Tuon has ALWAYS been a pain in the ass! Though I love her and Mat's interactions and they way they try to outsmart each other.Mat is awesome. Perrin used to be my favourite, but Mat took over and I love him.
LOL - True! Though Rand has always been my Favorite...
Perrin was a close second - then he met Faile and got all Whiny! Pfft! Though I'm glad he seems to be getting over his shit now.
Mat has always been bloody funnY! And he still is -
But He lost points because of his choice in women!
I'm rather amused at Berelain and Galad though...
At least that's been sorted out ;D
@ lannister:I was a good girl and avoided the thread about the book. I have been too occupied lately to look @ it. Plus, I am not really very good at saying what I am thinking yet. I have only read it once, but who knows!
A lot of comments made make more sense now, which is good. (specially ones made in the fight club thread lol)
I cheated with a Memory of Light: I read the epilogue....
Blasphemey I know ... 15 years of reading for me and I cheat. I don't think it counts since I have read the previous books too many times to count ... cept for the last three that is.
I have it and plan on reading it. You know how it is, you have to be in the mood for reading that type of thing.
Matt has always been my favorite, even back before the dagger when he was a pain in the ass. I think Tuon is perfect for him and he for her.
Yup, Perrin was such a great character at the start but the whole 'must save Faile' thing drove me nuts! Mat was kinda juvenile at the start but then he became smart & funny and became my favourite male character. Nynaeve is my favourite female, followed by Aviendha. Can't stand know-it-all Egwene & Elayne can die in a fire! :P
Llaph, it's quite a big book to take in at once. There's a lot going on. I think it's KC's best book to date. It completely engrossed me when I first read it.Any favourite or stand-out scenes?
@ lannister:I have only read it once so far. I thought it was great when I read it the first time. I can't think of a favorite scene/part yet though. :)
Finished
and
although I have to take a break before starting the next. House work :(. So far I am loving it.

I finished
around 4:30 this morning and loved it. Feeling a little lonely and bereft now that it's all over. I looovvveeee you, Tavi! And Max! And Crassus!Starting
Ok I finished
. Man that ending is forcing me to start the next.
. Not getting a lot of sleep tonight.
Touch of Evil (Thrall, #1) by C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp Vamps are not pretty and do not live very long at all in this series. Of course that is just a name for them since they are really a sort of parasite. I am reminded of the zerg for the most part. (only big nerds will get that….)
I finished 3 books recently, Skin Game, Skin Tight and Skin HeatThe series is good. Romance but I can actually relate to the characters. I especially loved how the female lead in the first book preferred to do the violence herself rather than let the guy protect her. And the second was all about rescuing herself.
I'm reading
And I have divided opinion about this book...On one hand it is written in a very unclear way and the characters seems to be very shallow . On the other hand there are many people who urge me to continue reading the series, what do you think?
"To read?, or not to read?" this is the question :S
Alina, personally I liked first 3 books from mortal instrument series. I did have a mixed feelings about the first book, but at the end, I really liked it. The loved for the series started to run dry on book 4, and when 5th book came along, I didn't know if I was more angry or frustrated with the author. So, the decision to read it is on you. I will try to read book 6 when it'll be released but if it's going to be anything like book #5, and Cassandra Clare will want to write another book, then I think I will stop reading the series. For me the mortal instrument series ended on book 3, the next books are only for generating money :/
It was supposed to end at book 3. It was only supposed to be a trilogy. I like books 4 and 5, but the series should have ended at book 3.
Yeah, I've heard that somewhere. The best thing is, that now I've checked how I've rated City of Fallen Angels, and it showed that I gave it 5 stars LOL :D. Of course I've changed it to 3. That's the problem I have with rating books. There are times where I read bad books and than I read something more interesting and give it high notes, but later on I read something great and decide that the other book shouldn't be that highly rated. I think for me, there should be 10 star rating choices instead of 5 ;)
I always rerate books lol. My mood at the time plays into how much I like the book a lot lol. Thats why I sometimes think I should go back and give series I gave up on another try.
Thank you all and I decided to give it a chance :)@ Lannister- yes we are! and it's much more fun that way :P
I read the first 3 books, couldn't get past the first chapter for the 4th. I read clockwork prince in the other series ... never got around to reading the others. Just meh....
I re-rate series/books sometimes too. I just did today ... what is weird is the random idea I get like in the shower or something to re-rate a book. Weird in that I am not currently reading anything really related to what book I want to re-rate....
I know my idea about a book can change once I try it again. I hated the jane true series and wasn't going to read it ... then I changed my mind and really liked it.
My view on subjects/tropes can change after I get more "experience" so to speak into my head and can cause me to re-evaluate what I already read. )Like having re-read the sazi series and thinking how much I liked it and comparing it to other books like it that I have read after it.)
Today I've finished Death Masks (The Dresden Files, #5) and quite liked it, but I started today Consequences, and am on chapter 17 and I still don't get this book. It's not that it's bad, it's just plain weird. I hope later on I will get the sense of it.
stayed up super late last night reading
it was SOOOO good!! loved it!! (which I said like 30 times in my review, lol)also thinking of starting
which is apparently really good.

Just kidding - I found couldn't resist after the ambien comment! I tried not to post...I really did!
Plus I loved that movie (Airplane) - what a gaggle of one-liners it has in it! I find they fit with almost any occasion.
Its almost as good as when the wife and I were walking through the woods and I inadvertently let a branch go that hit her in the face. I looked back at her and asked "Does your face hurt?"
Of course, trying to spare me any quilt she replied, "No."
Not being a wise man who values his life I replied, "Well, it should - its killing me!"
I'm here all week...
