What are you reading?
I'd love to see a Jane Yellowrock and Anita Blake crossover for they are my two favorite bad ass heroines.
I just finished my 8th book this month, titled
Death's Rival (Jane Yellowrock #5) by Faith Hunter. My next book is
Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye (Psychic Eye Mystery #1) by Victoria Laurie
Me, too, Zeenat. Especially with what happened with Leo at the end there.I finished
last night. I wanted to like it more than I did.I just finished
awesome dark contemporary. I can't wait for the sequel. So glad it will be a dual POV. It needs to be after that ending.Starting
Dale wrote: "I'd love to see a Jane Yellowrock and Anita Blake crossover for they are my two favorite bad ass heroines."Woo that would be fun! Someone should write some fanfic. I bet JC would like to sex up Jane, and Beast would rip his head off. :)
I read:Blooded (Jessica McClain, #0.5) by Amanda Carlson
I was going to read the next book in the series since Mello reminded me that duh next month is the 2nd book, but was able to finally get Fate’s Edge to read and went with that. I so love the Mars … though my reader always finishes that word with march so I always think of their last name as being March not Mar.
“psychotic swamp people” that line so fits … still on a biblio-high so!
Pfft @ gr disabling of searching
*This is my Top 6 favorite heroine series.**1.* Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter
*2.* Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs
*3.* Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep
*4.* Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton
*5.* Kitty Norville series by Carrie Vaughn
*6.* Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews
Full Blooded (Jessica McClain, #1) by Amanda CarlsonReading this book again had me seeing stuff that bothered me the first time and had me changing my rating. I liked the book, but I hope that she finds a balance in the next book. It seems like there is too much or too little of one thing or another.

Better Read Than Dead (Psychic Eye Mystery, #2) by Victoria Laurie
Hello!Well, I have been reading this page for a while, and I have found it very helpful. So, I am writing to ask for your help. I love Urban Fantasy, and specially Cassie’s book. I started reading this genre around 2 years ago, and now is my favorite. However, I do not like too much the “eternal love” or “oh!!! Is my mate” I love intrigue, and not knowing who is going to end with whom; but, with lots of action. So, here is my question. How is the Red Stepchild series? I found that I had read all the ones you guys have recommended or talk about (Hollows, awesome, Ilona Andrews , great, Diana Rowland, awesome, Briggs, fun, LK Hamilton, good until #10, Harris, awesome, Faith Hunter, great) So, you get an idea of the style that I like. For example, J. Frost, too romantic for my taste. Only read the first 2, and I was done. I am desperate for a new series. Ideas? Suggestions?
I rather suck at offering ideas. I am thinking the dresden files by jim butcher and the two series by seanan mcguire ... especially the encrypted series). I haven't read the red headed series though so can't say anything to that.
Diaries of an Urban Panther (Diaries of an Urban Panther #1) by Amanda AristaSometimes anthologies are good and sometimes they are not. I got this author from an anthology I did not like too much and her story was one of the only ones that did not tick me off too bad.
How about Secret McQueen series? Although there is a lot of romance but it is mainly focused on action.
The red stepchild series, is that the Sabina Kane series? Red-Headed StepchildI read that one in it's entirety. It's not focused on the romance, but there is a significant romance. I thought it ended a little too pretty... I wouldn't call it a GREAT series, but it's good.
The Sabina Kane series is on my TBR pile, so I'm afraid I can't offer an opinion (yet) Luichy. How about Jennifer Estep's Gin Blanco series?
Lannister wrote: "The Sabina Kane series is on my TBR pile, so I'm afraid I can't offer an opinion (yet) Luichy. How about Jennifer Estep's Gin Blanco series?"I am very excited for book 8. Low on the romance, heavy on the assassin stuff
Maybe this list might help:1. Mercedes Thompson by Patricia Briggs
2. Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine Harris
3. Meredith Gentry by Laurell K. Hamilton
4. Anita Blake by Laurell K. Hamilton
5. Rachel Morgan by Kim Harrison
6. Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill
7. Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands
8. The Saga of Darren Shan by Darren Shan
9. Demonata by Darren Shan
10. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
11. Weather Warden by Rachel Caine
12. Black Magician by Trudi Canavan
13. The Magician's Apprentice by Trudi Canavan
14. The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod by Heather Brewer
15. Kitty Norville by Carrie Vaughn
16. Elemental Assassin by Jennifer Estep
17. Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith
18. The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine
19. Shifters by Rachel Vincent
20. Dark Hunter by Sherrilyn Kenyon
21. Cassandra Palmer by Karen Chance
22. Allie Beckstrom by Devon Monk
23. Night Huntress by Jeaniene Frost
24. Calliope Reaper-Jones by Amber Benson
25. Septimus Heap by Angie Sage
Claws and Effect (Diaries of an Urban Panther, #2) by Amanda AristaIs there an emoticon for the hand gesture of a hand thingee … the only thing word wise I can think of to describe this gesture is “asi asi” and I don’t even speak Spanish.
I think if I still had a web cam I would totally record it. I would get a sightling to see if I just recorded my wall or armpit or something’ though.
Ot:
My phone has a privacy curtain sort of thing for voice over users and I usually keep it on because I am paranoid like that. I asked my sister to look up the date on a text msg I sent my mom and she started bitchin’ that my phone was broke or something because she could not get the screen to show up … oops. Also, it is sort of funny to hear my mom or her try to use my phone and forget that they have to double tap everything….
I guess working eyes are not everything!
Whew I talk a lot....
The Cal Leandros by Rob Thurman is also pretty good and there is almost no romance. Btw, I also really like the Sabina Kane series (Red Headed Step-child). There is romance but that is not the main point of the book. Another good series would be the Black Wings series by Christina Henry. Though that one can be hit and miss.
Nine Lives of an Urban Panther (Diaries of an Urban Panther #3) by Amanda AristaI kinda like this series so far, there are only 3.5 books. Is a lot of action, at points it seems like it wont stop till it pops like zit just waiting to share the love.
I think I make sense, but who knows
It was something different for me and I got good biblio vibes from it, maybe wont be as potent later on … but whatever!
I … need … to … stfu … kkthnx
I just finished my 10th book this month, titled
Better Read Than Dead (Psychic Eye Mystery, #2) by Victoria Laurie. My next book is
Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian
Dale wrote: "I'd love to see a Jane Yellowrock and Anita Blake crossover for they are my two favorite bad ass heroines."Have you read
? I'm having a hard time reading Murphy's Urban shaman series and don't want spoilers. I love Jane Yellowrock but Walker whine all the time it gets on my nerve.
A Certain Wolfish Charm (Westfield Wolves, #1) by Lydia DareI started this series with book 4 I think, then saw there were books before it … My OCD for other books possible in a series had gone tingly.
I read them all except this one, which is the first one. Hello … library have all of the books but the first one, that is a great idea. Finally they had gotten a book bundle, it was published with the first 3 books of the series, and I got to read it. Pfffft I rather the later books in the series, it is better after the author gets their groove on so to speak with a new world/series.
This is one of those historical/pnr sort of series. Not like I have read a lot of those, I can only think of two I have hah!

BloodSworn by Stacey BrutgerParts of it kind of reminded me of other books, but I think I have read too many books so that I will usually get that feeling….
The past few books have gone by pretty fast….
There's a free kindle book on Amazon today if anyone isinterested. The Ghost And The Graveyard by Genevieve Jack.

Good to know. I didn't get much reading done today, so I'm only 5% in now.
I had that same feeling when Changes ended, Claire. I jumped right into Ghost Story. I think that was one of those nights where I didn't go to sleep.
I felt sooo lucky I got Cold Days a few days before I was about to finish the book before it.Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs
I liked it. For some reason I really like Ansil’s character and did want to read more about him. Wish there had been more…. Now to wait another flippin’ year for the next book. :/
My opinion might change after I read the series again, I am still on a biblio-high....

Was just sent this review of Bared to You by a friend. Its Hilarious.http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I know a few ppl here have either read the book or are curious abt it and this is so worth sharing. If you did not like the book you will relate. If you liked it, it might make you laugh regardless. And if you haven't read it, either you never will after this review, or you will run straight to it.
@ arushi:I have never gotten good at reading a certain review, I don't know where they would be on the page in relation to other parts of a book's page. I know where my friends, and community reviews are, but ... What is the username so I can do a search on that to look? GR is bad for reading with a screen reader. I can't even figure out how to sort reviews from the defaults....
I did alter my rating :P and lol @ that book having one of my few reviews. I try not to post one since I tend to talk too much.
Claire and Mello, if I didn't know there were other books after it... I would of thought that was it!
No way could he have ended things there. That would have been even meaner than the ending being what it already was.I finished
this morning and it turns out that I really enjoyed it. Glad the sequel comes out Tuesday.

Hey Llaph - I am so sorry. I messed up and placed the link to the book instead of the review. I've edited that comment and adding the link here agian: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I don't have a special way of finding reviews. You're right, community reviews are below friend's reviews. I think my friend follows this person so she shares with me all the hilarious reviews.
