I'm very excited. If only I could convince myself that reading wouldn't interfere with work...

Haha. I knew you would love that one, Claire. But like Duane said, wait 'til Ashes of Honor. Love that book.

If you haven't already gotten it I would suggest dl'ing Let it Bleed since that is a must so you don't feel like you miss anything.
Not like book 3 I think it was when I thought I had missed an entire book and did a lot of looking to see if I had actually missed a book ... no just seemed like it.
I really liked the "Dark Days" series - read it a couple of times. As far as the two shorts went on Asylum Tales, I wasn't sure I was going to read the series after reading them as I didn't think they were very good.. But I did, based on how I liked her other series, and I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked the book - even did a review on it!

I can't really say because the two shorts are.....well short. As far as I can tell, the bones of the Asylum Tales are different from her Dark Days series.

Mello ❣ Gin ✮Illium✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Jaqen wrote: "Let It Bleed is a novella, right?"Yes, you can get it off of the author's website. I haven't checked it since I got it a few months ago though.
Thanks. I'll check it out. I still have get books 2-4. This is one of the series I started earlier this year that I'm trying to get off of my TBR before the year is over.

There are some shorts on the author's website too. They don't really have a direct sort of connection to the main series. They are mainly stories about when each D.J. was turned.
Finished:Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher
and
Fool Moon (The Dresden Files, #2) by Jim Butcher
Pretty sure I will start this book:
Grave Peril (The Dresden Files, #3) by Jim Butcher
If I don't get distracted by something else. I remember now why I got pissed and quit reading the series after book one.
Murphy ... I think she is annoyingly stubborn and I did not want to keep reading about her when I started Full Moon so I stopped and read something else, then forgot about it. Fun stuff having a book on your reader you forget is there because you can't see it and did not go down in the list to hear it. bleh ...
@Zeenat - When I read Anna Karenina I reached a point where I had to stop coz the book simply had too much rambling. So to finish, I started skimming/skipping those parts. It was mostly the musings of that one Noble.. whose name now eludes me.

Shadowland (Cassandra Palmer, #4.2) by Karen Chance
This is a great short ... I am glad I read this thread to remind me to go back and check for it again. I love how cass is now compared to how she was in the first book.
You are going through those the way that I did, haha.Finished
and really liked it. I love Reacher.Gonna start
next. I've been dying to get to it ever since the series was selected as group read for December in another group. I've been making myself wait to start on time. Now it's about to be 12/1 and I can start!

Just finished Coveted #3 of the Gwen Sparks series.Loved it. I think this is the best book of the series.
Finally got some background on Dorian (Angel of Death)
I want to be on his team.
I'm starting Bite Club...Morganville Vampires.
      finished

. It was so so and I think 60% of the sentences started with: "(Name) said" like: "Kate said..."; "Noah said..."; "Sean said...". It drove me crazy after a while :/

I've started rereading a book I read a couple of years back. I was talking about it with Anna and it put me in the mood to read it again.
It features some dude called Christopher Marlowe. No idea who that might be?! :P
Zeenat, did you like Steel's Edge?
the first book and the last book are really good, the 2nd book is good but not as much. The third is kinda . . . "not good". only "ok" for IA is "not good" in my book. The series is not continuing because people didn't respond to it well.

@ Claire:I like what I have read so far, I usually read super fast so don't absorb the book too good the first time around.
I like investigation/mystery stuff sometimes and it is a nice extra to have a paranormal aspect and Harry's weird sense of humor/ sarcastic comments added.
Having a series from a male's point of view written by a male is refreshing too at times. Well, except the numerous comments on how a chick looks ... Typical guy.
well compared to KD it's not good. I rated the books 4, 4, 2, and 4 stars. I think if that third book was better, and got better reception, then the series might have been continued.I don't think she balanced the romance with the fantasy aspects well, and the character qualities got lost. Plus people expect more action adventure from her, not such heavy PNR romance stuff.
I hate that it's not continuing. The second book is actually my favorite of them all. William <3 I still have Steel's Edge to read, so it might change my mind.

RE: The EdgeI have only read 1 and 2.
I liked the first book, it actually got me to look up what else my library had for IA and got me started on KD. It was different, but I liked book 2 more personally.
I liked 2 a lot because of William's sense of humor, the bayouthing, the magic used in the swamp, and William's side of being a changeling as compared to Jack's.
Still having to wait on book 3.
@ zeenat:So in agreement there <3 William and his action figure army and hissing fights with racoons.
I loved that. I loved how he kept saying that the Mire wasn't "a proper place." His sense of humor made me love him. I adore William.

I liked the second book the best. I still laugh every time I think about 'hoboqueen'. It was my favourite along with William as well.

I've only read the first two Edge books and I didn't much like them. Personally, I think IA should stick to UF and not PNR. I was disappointed.

i think steel's edge was the best because the character's felt unique, fair balanced of romance and fantasy, and we got to see a lot of George, Jack and Sophie/Lark.

@Lannister I think that's how a lot of people felt about The Edge series. I thought I was going to feel the same way about them at first, too. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed them.@Zeenat I love George and Jack.
Just finished
. Pretty good first book. Not spectacular, but I'm definitely interested in more and will continue the series. I love Harry. That poor man.Starting
. Time for some funny.
