Vered (vered_ehsani) Oh yeah, Kimberly's Forbidden Mind was really good and intense.

That's another title I'm quite curious about.

I just finished it and it is FANTASTIC. I was quite impressed. Hopefully the wait for the next book isn't too long! ;-)

Then, I'll give it a try soon, thanks :)

Flora Smith (bookwormflo) I've got a bit on my plate at the moment. I'm reading Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer which I love so far. I'm also reading Dark Waltz, a Praestani Novel (#1) by A.M. Hargrove that I'm not real crazy about. I'm also reading Chronicles of M Ammit by Nicholas Forristal that I'm enjoying. I liked the first one in this series and this one is just as good so far. I'm also reading The Year-God's Daughter (The Child of the Erinyes, #1) by Rebecca Lochlann which I also love so far.

message 107: by Flora (new)

Flora Smith (bookwormflo) I just finished Dark Waltz, a Praestani Novel (#1) by A.M. Hargrove and I was less than impressed. I didn't post it on my blog since I gave it less than 3 stars but my review is here to read.

message 108: by Monica Porta (new)

Monica Porta | 196 comments Cinder has been on my tbr list for a while now. It would be nice if the book is as nice as the cover :)

message 109: by Flora (new)

Flora Smith (bookwormflo) I am loving Cinder so far. I think its better than I thought it was gonna be.

message 110: by Heather (new)

Heather (ham1299) I'm in the middle of Ultraviolet (Ultraviolet, #1) by R.J. Anderson , which I've been meaning to read for awhile now. It's pretty good. :-)

Up next is the sequel, Quicksilver (Ultraviolet, #2) by R.J. Anderson .

message 111: by Flora (new)

Flora Smith (bookwormflo) I just finished Chronicles of M Ammit by Nicholas Forristal . This is a really fun series.

message 112: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) I'm reading Christmas Lites II by Amy Eye , a collection of Christmas related short stories. I highly recommend it (as in it should be obligatory reading!!!) for two reasons.

1) All the proceeds go to a great charity supporting victims of domestic violence
2) All the stories so far are fantastic!

Monica, I loved your story - it read like a classic fairy tale. Beautiful.

message 113: by Monica Porta (new)

Monica Porta | 196 comments Thank you, Vered. When my kids were younger, I used to invent a new story every night. They're all grownup now, but I still like to tell fairytales :)

message 114: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Wow! Now that's creative! Did you record the stories you made for them?

message 115: by Monica Porta (new)

Monica Porta | 196 comments Unfortunately, I didn't :( In retrospect, I should've written those stories. There was one in particular my kids loved; it was about two young knights fighting in Medieval tournaments. I remember the MCs were called Guido and Marco :) There were castles and damsels aplenty.

message 116: by Meghan (new)

Meghan (vividpixie) | 4 comments Just finished Nevermore by Kelly Creagh! I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it! I also just posted a review on here and in my blog! (My first review too!) I'm debating between reading The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong or Evermore by Alyson Noel. :)

message 117: by Flora (new)

Flora Smith (bookwormflo) I just finished The Year-God's Daughter (The Child of the Erinyes, #1) by Rebecca Lochlann and I loved it. Its a great historical fiction set in ancient Greece.

Currently I've just started on The Breeders by Matthew J. Beier

Vered (vered_ehsani) Ugh - I have a list of books I read the past lazy two weeks, but I'm too lazy to write up reviews or even track them down here. So it will just have to wait for the New Years resolution #23 "Write review right after reading book".

message 120: by Heather (new)

Heather (ham1299) Just finished Grave Peril (The Dresden Files, #3) by Jim Butcher - it was all right.

About to start Prophecy (The Dragon King Chronicles, #1) by Ellen Oh

Vered (vered_ehsani) Hey all- Happy New Year! I've been seriously offline this past few weeks. Lots of family and friends visiting in Kenya, and it's been brilliant. I've done lots of reading. Bad news: I have a long list to review now.

Hope everyone had a great holiday season.

message 124: by Monica Porta (new)

Monica Porta | 196 comments Read The Stereotypical Freaks by Howard Shapiro and liked it. A nice comic books about friendship and the power of music. Very touching. Reading now Anomaly by Skip Brittenham and it looks epic. It's a huge scifi graphic novel. Every illustration looks like a painting. Amazing art.

message 130: by Monica Porta (new)

Monica Porta | 196 comments Finished Anomaly by Skip Brittenham and although there were a few instances where the narration lacked, the illustrations are majestic. Also finished The Griffin Cryer by Julia Hughes and liked it a lot. It's a YA novel, but with an interesting mix of genres. Reading and almost finished Warm Bodies (Warm Bodies, #1) by Isaac Marion , so far it's refreshing :)Maybe, I'll go see the movie.

message 131: by Flora (new)

Flora Smith (bookwormflo) Just finished The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken and liked it right up til the end. I think it could have ended better.

message 136: by Jax (new)

Jax @ Monica - That they are! :D
And I absolutely adore one of the characters!

message 137: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Which character, Jax? I read Hounded and I liked it, but it wasn't as good as all the hype I'd heard about it.

message 138: by Jax (new)

Jax ;D Oberon!!
He's sooo adorable!
I was lucky - I didn't get bombarded by all the hype...
Just my hubby. :D
I'm busy reading Hexed now - and I have to say that the Morrigan is definitely growing on me...
my only complaint at this point, is his apprentices' name! LOL

message 139: by Flora (new)

Flora Smith (bookwormflo) I just got started on The Dragon's Egg (Dragonslayer Book 4) by Resa Nelson . I really enjoyed the other books in this series so I'm sure this one will be good too.

Flora Smith (bookwormflo) I just finished The Hidden Village by Greg Krehbiel which I thought was a really fun read.

I'm currently reading two books from both ends of the spectrum. Women of the Bible Jael's Story A Novel by Ann Burton and also Dominic (The Lords of Satyr, #4) by Elizabeth Amber and I like them both

message 149: by Vered (new)
