I'm in the middle of the week four section, and I already cannot recall anything about "Johnny contemplating his relationship to Zampanò and the text" ... Only thing I remember is the really creepy attack of the house. I also loved Tom's story. It felt incredibly real, like I was there with him. Johnny's story about the Pekinese shocked me. I don't know what to make of these stories of his, I never know what is real and why he puts this or that in a particular footnote.

Sorry, I should have included page numbers. In particular, I was thinking of Johnny's comments about the text, Zampanò's relation to the text, and Johnny contemplating how the text has changed him as he works on it.
See note 226, page 248; note 276, page 323; and note 302, page 337
These are not the only times Johnny thinks of these relations, but they are foregrounded in these particular notes.

Some pretty intense chapters here – especially chapter XIII when the house attacks. What did you think about Johnny contemplating his relationship to Zampanò and the text?
To avoid spoilers, please restrict your comments to Chapter XI - XIII, pp. 246 - 346 (and the earlier chapters)
