That is hilarious Stacia. Sometimes our eyes play tricks on us. I can see how you could see farted. Ha ha!

I know I just really started getting into the book this morning and I couldn't put it down, its been awesome!

I was really enjoying it last night. I thought Sam was just the best. Kia's story is so sad. I really can't wait to get home and read. I didn't get the chance to read during my lunch break. :-(

I hate when that happen Marcella, I always try to eat lunch early or late so that i can read (is that bad?) lol

No it isn't bad. I have been so slammed at work that I just eat real quick and get back to work. I want to read so bad. Ha ha!

Wow, there have been a few moments where i've cried. I just feel for Kia so much.

48% (view spoiler)[ There home and I loved her friends reactions to Sampson. LOL!! So you think it was Lee and the guys giving Sam the gun once they got home? Sounds about right. I love that all the books are slightly connected, awesome! (hide spoiler)]

I was crying my eyes out through every single interaction between Kia and Sam. I also cried when she went to the restaurant and saw him with another woman.

I feel the same way! I think she's had a really hard life, especially after Cooter (that is the ulitmate hick name) beat her, he then took out insurance on her, adn then planned to kill her seriously? He is a special kind of monster.

I totally agree Shanna! That guy was some kind of monster and there is a special place in hell for people like him. I was secretly hoping that his accomplice would have died too but no such luck. She will have to live with being the town piraha and most likely life in prison.

I love that KA dove into the whole (view spoiler)[Idea that Kia had a strong family support system but still didn't leave him for 7 years. It broke my heart when Kia came to terms with what happened and why she didn't lean on those who love her. It's so much guilt wrapped up with the pain, you cannot help but feel for her. Sam is an angel for wanting to take that on and keep her safe. He does piss me off when he corners her. He's so big, but i'm proud Kia told him he needed to stop that and he said he wouldn't do it again. Love it! (hide spoiler)]

So my had was physically abusive with my mom and me. So this book is hard to read on many levels. I know that Sam dosen't understand his size and how it can make a person literally shut down. I'm glad that Sam understands that. He's got some demons... I think that's what's going to surprise us.

I think Sam does have some demons and that is why it is so easy for him to understand Kia and his patience with her.

I'm sorry to hear that Leea, yeah it is hard to read, (view spoiler)[ especially the part with the family, her dad in the room made me cry, he was just so remorseful, it was clear that he felt guilty for what had happened, and i agree that im glad that she also realized that she hurt them by not coming to them. Sam is really sweet and I think that he's apprehensive to share because she has so much going on right now.

I'm still at 48%... I'm about to pick it up and read some more while the kids play. But i've got to get my sons homework done. Ugh!

Sorry to hear about your ordeal Leea. My father was verbally abusive to most of us kids so I can relate.

Damn I must be way behind. I justgot to the part whereCelest told Kia she reminded her of her dead daughter (how sad is that). Now Sam is supposed to take Kia out on Lake Como.

Seriously I am really behind. What is it about KA's books that make it seem like I haven't read a damn thing. I read for a good 2 hours and I am still so far behind. Geez!

Marcella they really are long, I'm not going to deny that. But keep going, where are u at now?

I know her books are long but I feel like with all the reading I did last night, I should have made a dent. I am not a slow reader but reading her books makes me feel like one. Lol!

I left off at the part where they had sex for the first time. He was so sweet. God how I wish Sam was real. Ha ha!

I wish he was too, he is just the best! Such a good guy.

Men like that do not exist in real life and that is why it sometimes sucks reading. The men we read about totally ruin it for us when it comes to the real deal. Ha ha!

Lol, so true, but its cool, I like having book bfs LOL, what do you think of Kia so far?

I have a bunch of book bf's. Ha ha!

I am really liking Kia, although at times I find her a little annoying. I think it is the way KA writes her female characters. If she says "sorry?" one more time, I may flip out. Lol!

Yeah, but I like her more than some others, she's really something for someone who has been through what she has, I think she's pretty accurately written, its always easier to share pain with new people, than it is to share it with ppl who knew you before the pain.

[Marcella]

I totally agree. I think when you share your pain with someone you don't know, there aren't the judgements of those who know you. I personally find it easier to share things with strangers.

I do think she is something for going through what she went through and coming out of it the person she is.

I totally agree with that, at teh same time I think she has a good reason to be scared and apprehensive about Sam, cause the way i picture him, he is intimidating.

I see why she would be afraid of him. Especially how he acted at Luci's party. She has never known kindness so she has no frame of reference.

Yup, but I really liked the story, it was endearing reminded me of the Colorado Mountains series.

Hey Leea what do you think about Kia?

I really like her a lot, I have a ton on empathy for her and her situation. What I like most about her is that she's still being true to herself, still following her heart and she's a lion. No letting Sam push her around, saying what/how she feels is amazing to read.
