I am planing on reading either 'Summer of night' or 'Carrion comfort' in october. So I guess we could partner up :)
I would join y'all, but I dont have the book. LOL. I am thinking I want to do a reread on Edgewise by Graham Masterton! Good luck and have fun on your read! Tim let me know how it goes.

I only do e-books since I got my Kindle a few years ago, makes reading so much easier, I read on my Kindle, on my tablet, and even on my phone! I always have a book with me where ever I go. LOL
Just let me know when you are ready to start and I will be glad to read with you.
Janie wrote: "I would join y'all, but I dont have the book. LOL. I am thinking I want to do a reread on Edgewise by Graham Masterton! Good luck and have fun on your read! I don't collect books so it doesn't matter to me if it is electronic.
I don't have it either, not yet anyway. I'll be sure to post a review when I finish Janie.Bojana, that sounds great! I've never read Dan Simmons before, but I've heard great things so I have high expectations for this one. We can start October 15th, if anyone else is interested just post here.
I'll post status updates for my progress on this thread starting on the 15th. Looking forward to this ;)

If I manage to get ahold of the book I will let you know Tim!
Tim wrote: "Bojana, that sounds great! I've never read Dan Simmons before, but I've heard great things so I have hig..."I haven't read any Simmons as well. And I own a few of his books since I was in high school. I feel a bit embarrassed :|
Lee, I'll be getting the ebook too. It's easier since I'll be traveling while reading this one. I already have a stack of books I'm going to have to ship back, there's no room in my bags! After looking at the size of this one (801 pages) I'm thinking we should start a little earlier. How about we start on the first Friday of October, the 5th?
Bojana, if you can't start that soon just let me know and we can push it back.
This is my first buddy read, so if you have any helpful suggestions as far as guidelines or structure feel free to comment :)

I am good with any start date - and this will be my first buddy/group read in a long while, so I don't have any suggestions. LOL
Dang it...Everyone keeps reading great books!! You do know this is up for nomination for October's read in the King group, right? If it wins it will be started on the first. I would love to join in on this, too, but I'll have to see what my reading schedule looks like, especially since there is going to be a group read of IT for Halloween.Nevermind...I'm dumb. The poll is already closed and the Bradbury book won. haha
Kathryn wrote: "Dang it...Everyone keeps reading great books!! You do know this is up for nomination for October's read in the King group, right? If it wins it will be started on the first. I would love to join in..."October Poll closed yesterday and Something Wicked This Way Comes was the top vote getter. So it looks like that is the group read.
I love IT - I have been thinking about a re-read as I haven't read it in over 10 years. I average between five and ten books a month, so maybe this month will be a good month for IT - it is long enough and could keep me busy for a few days.

Bojana we have just planned a read together with a few of us for IT. Kathryn has not read it yet so it will be a great read for her. You are more than welcome to join us on the read. We wanna plan it for October.
That sounds fun too. Please keep me posted. I've read It some 7 or 8 years ago, and remember practically nothing

October could be an excellent reading month! LOL

If you do any other re-reads of SK's popular books (that were already group reads here) I'd love to join if you don't mind another reader :)
*I'm hoping I really like Dan Simmons, I'd like to find another author to follow. That's assuming he's still writing and not retired!
Lee wrote: "That could be fun, Carion Comfort, IT, Something Wicked This Way Comes, and now possibly Adam thanks to Janie and her comments. October could be an excellent reading month! LOL..."Adam? What book is that? I do agree I think October will be a great month for book reads :) I love autumn!
Tim, Adam is a book by Ted Dekker. Ted Dekker is a christian writer. And let me tell you, he can write! I am so involved in Adam right now that I have to keep putting it down to take a breath. Ted Dekker writes suspense/thillers and he knows his stuff. Like "edge of your seat" stuff. The first book I read by him was Thr3e. It was a phenominal read.If you wanna try some new Authors, try Dekker, Masterton, and Laymon! All favorites of mine. Laymon is pretty classic horror/thiller. Masterton is the BEST paranormal horror writer ever. LOL
Lee wrote: "That could be fun, Carion Comfort, IT, Something Wicked This Way Comes, and now possibly Adam thanks to Janie and her comments. October could be an excellent reading month! LOL"I agree so many great reads planned for October. I have to throw Edgewise in the mix as well! Graham Masterton is a master at Paranormal thiller/horror.
Bojana wrote: "That sounds fun too. Please keep me posted. I've read It some 7 or 8 years ago, and remember practically nothing"Will do Bojana, it will be alot of fun. I feel like starting a group sometimes about buddy reads lol. I have made so many great friends here.
Janie wrote: "I feel like starting a group sometimes about buddy reads lol. I have made so many great friends here..."If you do, let me know I'd join :) I joined goodreads over a year ago and until I joined this group I didn't realize how much fun this place can be.

I would join.. :) I had no idea goodreads could be so much fun, I was using it for a book list of to read books and nothing else. I was missing out for the first few months! LOL
Same Tim, I joined a little over a year ago myself, and I find myself here constantly. Reading reviews sharing reviews lol. It has become quite the hobby!
Janie wrote: "Same Tim, I joined a little over a year ago myself, and I find myself here constantly. Reading reviews sharing reviews lol. It has become quite the hobby!"I know what you mean! I'm on Goodreads at least once a day, sometimes twice!
Hey Janie, you like Dean Koontz, right?
Janie wrote: "Hehe awesome guys, let me think about it! :)"If you do create it, I could help you moderate it.

Oh good! I'm glad my plan is working! LOL
LOL Hehe Holly. I was thinking the name would be something like Bookworm Buddies. Is there a group called that already? LOL

Great idea. I'd LOVE to join you, but I read the book about a year ago (or maybe it was two, I'm not sure,) plus I have much going on right now. Thank you for the invite, though. It's much appreciated!
I've been wanting to read Dan Simmons (an author who had somehow slipped under my radar until a few years ago) and this looks like the perfect opportunity. I'm in. And Janie, I'm also in on the buddy read group as well.

Awesome Brent! :)
Tim wrote: "No problem Dustin, maybe a different book when you have some time"Yes, sounds great, Tim! I'd love to do a buddy read with any one of you.
I'm a part of Janie's awesome group, BTW.
I would love to partner up and actually just started Carrion Comfort yesterday not knowing that there may be a partner read in the works. Count me in. I am a slow but steady reader and I am only 60 pages in!
Kim wrote: "I would love to partner up and actually just started Carrion Comfort yesterday not knowing that there may be a partner read in the works. Count me in. I am so excited about CC. I hope my book gets here on the fifth. LOL You know how deliveries can be. Holly I did not see your post till today, yes I do like Dean Koontz, his earlier stuff mostly. I have arranged a buddy read of Tick Tock in November. I love his Frankenstein series so far, but I have only read the first 2. I have all of them. Do you like Koontz as well?
"Carrion Comfort" is one incredible book - I read it years ago, when it was first published, and recently re-read it, to prepare for the coming discussion. Dan Simmons is unbelievable. He can be uneven -- to avoid spoilers, I'll just say that the first part of the book -The bit that is WWII background - is some of the best writing I've ever encountered. Don't make the mistake that this is the ONLY good part - the whole book is a fantastic read, it's just that this particular set piece is great, rather than good!

Brent wrote: "Is anyone still planning on starting CC on Oct 15?"Hi Brent! We are going to start IT on the 18th, if you want to join in on that one, too! You still have a week to read CC before we start IT, so you've got plenty of time! :)

If your interested just let me know :)
* We'll be starting this on 5 October, next friday
