What kind of challenge?

I'd like some people to weigh in on what they'd like to see in the challenges. Since we have an opportunity to be International here I think it's a great way to learn some things we wouldn't learn in our normal baking routines.

I have two thoughts...one is to just put up a category for the month, say cake and then everyone picks a cake to make and posts their recipe and pictures.

The other is to pick a specific recipe everyone bakes.

What would people prefer?

I love the idea of everyone trying out a recipe together. But you might have to make sure there's a gluten-free alt or something like that.

I like more the category/month, but make it more specific. Like "chocolate layer cake" or "jalapeno bread". That way the recipes aren't quite so disparate, but still allow people to make gluten-free, vegan, etc.

Okay the poll results show that more people would like to bake something from a category, but not the same thing.

What I'd like to do, is rotate who picks the category. This month to start it off I will do the picking, then after that I'll send an email out to one of you asking for your categories. After we hash it out I'll post it here.
