Lindsay (lindsattack) | 15 comments You can't go wrong either way. But since some people might not be able to read Master of Crows because of it's format, then I wouldn't make it the main one. That way, everyone can at least read one, if not both of them.

message 52: by Elwen (last edited Sep 26, 2012 01:39AM) (new)

Elwen (elwen_books) I would prefer Poison Study as main, cause reading a whole book on browser? Please NO! :)

Natalie Moravec (dazmond) | 6 comments I say keep the choices as they are. =) I will be trying to read both!

message 54: by Tau-Mu (new)

Tau-Mu | 10 comments You can buy a kindle for $69 which might be a worthwhile investment for a member of this group since ebooks are in general cheaper and easier to obtain.

Amanda (ladycello) http://www.kobobooks.com/ebook/Master...

For those who use Kobo you can get the main pick there. It says it's a DRM-free ePub and is $2.99 there as well.

message 56: by Fi (new) - rated it 4 stars

Fi Miller | 75 comments I think we should keep the choices that are there. There MUST be a way to get a cheaper copy for the paperback readers...

Shona Nelson | 8 comments I vote keeping Master or Crows as the Main. I like sexy time.

I am no sure why Poison Study is more expensive.

message 58: by Jute (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jute | 238 comments I've already read both so it doesn't matter to me, though for anyone who hasn't read it, Master of Crows is amazing.

message 59: by Malaraa (new)

Malaraa | 335 comments Swapping the picks so Poison Study is the main and Master of Crows the alt would be the kind thing to do for both those who have troubles related to the format, and those of us who rely on being able to borrow the books from the library/overdrive. Extra smut is fun, sure, and partly the point, but it will be a more inviting experience for a lot of us if the more widely available book is the official main. By all means keep Master as an alt though, for those who can get it!

message 60: by Jessika (new) - added it

Jessika Dehaven | 1 comments I vote Master of Crows, I love my Kindle ^_^

William | 5 comments I vote for Master of Crows for main. The DRM on Poison Study isn't compatible with my e-reader and stripping it looks like a pain.

message 62: by Gotobedmouse (new) - added it

Gotobedmouse | 73 comments Okay this is the last time I am going to voice my opinion on this subject. I have really enjoyed being a part of this book club, I understand how hard all the ladies work on this, and I appreciate it.

In the future, I sincerely hope there is more planning on which book is chosen for the monthly choice. There always needs to be a paperback option. Assuming that everyone has an e-reader or ample time on a desktop is....not correct.

"Amazon offers authors certain benefits to ONLY DISTRIBUTE via Amazon. With these deals said authors cannot offer their titles on other platforms.

This is bad for the book industry and creates a monopoly. Instead of supporting this, we, as readers, IMO, should be fighting against it. If I can't get a B&N version from an indie author, I don't want to read their book. That isn't to say I don't want to, but it's good for US and THEM to offer for multiple platforms."

Michael | 12 comments I have already read Poison Study (really enjoyed it) and have a Kindle so the lack of availability doesn't bother me in any way.

message 64: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Turner | 1 comments I would prefer Master of Crows.

Killian (killianperry) | 6 comments Had Master of Crows on my TBR for quite a while, and since I have a Nook, I'm good :D

BonnieBew Rutledge | 24 comments Both books look incredible, so I'm getting both anyway and downloading the Kindle app to my phone to make it work. But...

It's better to have a book with a paper version like Poison Study available for the primary pick. So many people have rituals for when/where they read - buses, beds, bathrooms and beyond - having hard and soft copies available as options allows for flexibility over a larger audience.

So I vote accessibility > smut!

I agree, just switch it to the ALT pic.

message 68: by Tonks (new)

Tonks | 10 comments I think Poison Study should be the main. I actually just got my first tablet, but reading a whole book on a PC is not fun. My local library has 4 copies of Poison Study but none of Master of Crows.

Sarah - Exploring All Genres | 3 comments I vote Master of Crows for the main read, simply because first person books irk me and Poison Study is in first person. Plus Master of Crows just sounds better to me based on the synopsis.

message 70: by JoAnna (new) - added it

JoAnna | 26 comments does anyone know if it accesible from the andriod market?

Alicia (The Bookish Puff) (thebookishpuff) | 9 comments I have a nook, does anyone know if it comes in nook format? But if Felicia says it's on that site then I suppose that works as well.

message 72: by Tonks (new)

Tonks | 10 comments JoAnna, it doesn't seem to be on the Android Market, but if you download a free e-reader app on your Android (Aldiko, FBReader, etc.), you should be able to buy it from the Smashwords catalog within the app.

message 73: by Christine (new)

Christine (animecanuck) | 410 comments Earlier I was kind of "meh" on whether it switched or n ot, but I've given it some thought, and seen that I'm not the only one more interested in Poison Study, so I think swapping the Alt and Main books would be great.

Marissa J | 6 comments If Nook is a Beta tape, then my Nextbook is like an 8-track player. I'm good either way, I plan to read both.

message 75: by Jim (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jim (sleeplessjim) | 7 comments I'm getting a Kindle this week, so keeping it the main is fine with me.

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

Both look interesting, but if Master of Crows is out of print, I would say make it the alt for this month (I'm going to have to download ebooks of either, as my local library doesn't have either book).

message 77: by Lillian (new)

Lillian (yaycats365) I'd like the main book to be Poison Study if possible. My local library seems to have an available copy (which hopefully I can get tomorrow).

message 78: by Felicia, Grand Duchess (new) - rated it 5 stars

Felicia (feliciaday) | 740 comments Mod
Ok so I think I'm gonna switch the main/alt from feedback here, but I'm sure we'll discuss both, and plenty of people on the forum will be reading both/either to discuss so I think we're gonna be ok. Again, sorry for the confusion everyone I will be sure to check beforehand for other months to make sure regular and e-books are available.

message 79: by Nik (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nik (lunakaos) | 165 comments I always read both books anyway.

Tegan (joggiwagga) | 276 comments Its avail for download as epub, pdf, or kindle, so should work for all e-readers so the kindle vs other ereader argument isn't much of an issue. not available in my library network (155 libraries) in print, which is sad, but not the first time this has happened. I'll probably wait until I see some of the responses to buy it to see if its something that's worth the purchase.

message 81: by Briana (last edited Sep 26, 2012 04:50PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Briana (breemonkey) | 11 comments I love Poison Study, but I've got to admit Master of Crows has already got me hooked. I'm getting a Howls Moving Castle fibe and loving it.

Madeline (scribeofvoid) | 8 comments How funny! I bought this book months ago on kindle and never got around to reading it. Now I'll be motivated to read it. :)

OMG yes. Wait until they start doing it. It's pretty...descriptive haha.

Vozreni | 12 comments This shall be my first month actually reading the books on time! I just bought both of them right now for my Kindle app, so I'm good to go.

I'm excited to follow along and not just watch the show clueless XD

message 85: by Kelley (new)

Kelley | 1 comments Oh I'm glad you are switching. I have wanted to read Poison Study since you mentioned it in one of the first hangouts and was a litle disappointed it was only the alt.

message 86: by JoAnna (new) - added it

JoAnna | 26 comments i always read both pics as well.. except for this month. cthulurotica was a pass

ooooh so glad I downloaded both books to my kindle lol

message 88: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Noble | 6 comments Well I'm confused! lol. What is main and what is alt? Sorry to be a pain. If anyone can help that would be great. Would someone be able to PM me as I am only on phone and it's difficult to get on the forums. Thanks again xx

message 89: by Christina (new)

Christina | 2 comments So I have not read all the comments (and this is my first comment!) so if this has been recommended, I'm sorry.

Felicia, I would recommend making a very short video saying that the new main pick is poison study. Since not all the viewers are on goodreads, I think this would be helpful to them.

message 90: by A (new)

A (aarrghhh) | 17 comments I'm reading both. MoC sounds pretty good!

message 91: by Colleen (new)

Colleen (mkcolleen) | 118 comments My library has both books so I'm good to go. I'll try to read both of them. I only WISH I owned a Kindle or Nook. (I wish to support my last remaining local B&N store)

Alicia (The Bookish Puff) (thebookishpuff) | 9 comments I know the decision was already made but just so people know I couldn't seem to find Master of Crows in Nook format. So people with Nooks may be out of luck for the alt. read this month.

Tegan (joggiwagga) | 276 comments Alicia wrote: "I know the decision was already made but just so people know I couldn't seem to find Master of Crows in Nook format. So people with Nooks may be out of luck for the alt. read this month."

The link to buying it on smashwords is to buy it in "nook" format. Bascially books come in epub (with or without DRM, which is easily stripped in any case and can be read on any ereader but kindle) and kindle format (which can only be read on a Kindle)

Thanks, I'm obviously not the most tech savvy individual. Haha!

message 95: by Miya (new) - added it

Miya (bistitchualbee) Ah well, Master of Crows was only $2.99 anyways. I'll probably read both, but I wish I could read as fast as Felicia!

That's what I did :) Nice and cheap!

Renee | 2 comments Propmptly after Tuesdays VF session, I downloaded the free Kindle app on my computer and phone, and from Tuesday evening to Thursday evening.... I DEVOURED "Master of Crows"! It was great to the very end, and I am saddened to have finished so soon :P I will be reading Poison Study promptly. Thnank you for the VF ladies :) I'm loving it. This is the first month I caught the live feed and have read the books. You guys are wonderful.

Jennifer (jenniferspoke) | 4 comments I got this book on kindle for $2.99. It looks great, I can't wait to read it!

message 99: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (samanthadelayed) | 20 comments I have had Poison Study sitting on my shelf for a few months so it is a good pick for me!
