I am looking for some Goodread reviews for my novel:
The Living Room
When success and even love are not enough, you need a miracle…

Daniel Clay has good looks, money, and a rising career as a New York investment advisor. Meanwhile, his personal life is barren of love and family. But when a distant relative dies and leaves him a house in England, Daniel embarks on a life-changing journey—toward love and his soul’s awakening.

He meets and falls in love with Claire, a children’s palliative care nurse. With her help, he opens his home and heart to comfort young patients in their final days. As Claire tends to the children in a beautiful glassed-in room overlooking the sea, Daniel prays for miracles. Just when his prayers are answered, a mysterious illness strikes him down and relentlessly drains away his life. With no hope for a cure, Daniel holds fast to a deep secret that he can never reveal. And now, he needs a miracle of his own.

Please contact me if this sounds like something you would be interested in reading and I will send you a copy in your preferred format.
Thanks!

Nicolas Wilson | 51 comments Whores is a minimalist speculative fiction novel encompassing feminist themes, and elements of film noir, science fiction, and police procedurals. The story is set in a near future where women’s rights are eroding, and those who buck the system are hunted as gender criminals by the authorities and rogue militias. This harrowing dystopia is seen through the eyes of a woman cast into a resistance group by circumstance, and a newly minted gender crimes detective tasked with bringing them to justice, as he grapples with the meaning of that word in his world.

Whores is topically political, and because of that I've made it temporarily available for free from smashwords. It is also available from amazon. As a word of caution, Whores contains some graphic violent content.

More information on my writing, as well as first-drafts of other novels, is available at nicolaswilson.com. Let me know if you have any questions or feedback.

Sean | 8 comments My latest novel 'Chasing the Tiger's Tail' is available as an ebook for the next couple of days free from amazon. It's a soft sci-fi with its tongue firmly in its cheek.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Chasing-the-T...

http://www.amazon.com/Chasing-the-Tig...

Here's the blurb...

“Michael, I have been given the gift of time-travel”
“That’s nice! I only get given socks.”

Professor Jason Fielding has finally built the time-machine he hopes will enable him to prevent the murder of his parents thirty years earlier, but the prototype has some interesting quirks…

While escaping the clutches of sinister new Prime Minister, Brother Dougal, government secret agent Michael Karpathian is unwittingly drawn into the device and propelled back to the day before the murders, where the machine's idiosyncrasies become apparent: several versions of him appear, each dominated by a different part of his personality.

Is one of the instances of Karpathian driven by his killer instinct? Has Fielding created a paradox making Karpathian responsible for the original murders? and why does Brother Dougal’s ascendancy spell doom for the entire world?

Chasing the Tiger’s Tail is an adventure suitable for everyone who has ever thought "I wish I could go back and change that…."

Be careful what you wish for…

Pam Funke | 40 commentsOperation Dark Angel” is a story of what might very well be the ultimate terrorist attack.

Operation Dark Angel by Pam Funke

Quite contrary to what the doomsayers have been predicting ever since, the Antichrist does not appear in a tempest of fire, brimstone, and blood. He is born as a male infant named Nicolaitanes by a human female. The only thing extraordinary about him is his amazing charisma and intelligence. With these he virtually shoots up the sectors of the wealthy and powerful and secures a position of wealth and power for himself. Once he does, he proceeds to carry out Operation Dark Angel.

Operation Dark Angel is basically a complex and enormous terrorist attack involving various cells operating all over the world. At first, the terrorists carry out their master plan smoothly. But things suddenly begin unraveling when high-ranking members of the terrorist organization suspect Nicolaitanes to be more evil than they ever could have imagined. Meanwhile, unlikely forces fighting on the side of the good are brought together to stop Operation Dark Angel. A battle eventually erupts between the two sides. Tragically, all their efforts are for naught because Nicolaitanes ultimately wins when he plunges the world into a war from which he intends to emerge as supreme overlord.

Looking for people willing to do reviews of the book to post on goodreads, amazon, barnesandnoble and my blog. Email me at TheFourHorsemensSeries@hotmail.com if you are interested and I will provide a free pdf file of the book.

Gary Markwick (garymarkwick) | 23 comments Hi everyone,
My name is Gary Markwick and I have written a self help book called "Now it Begins" which is practical and spiritual with ancient learnings and short stories, split into 10 distinct phases.

"As the world is changing fast, a great shift of universal energy is taking place. Some of us are aware of this and are ready to move forward and leave behind an old world that has suffered from greed, selfishness, anger, blame, and hatred. This means, raising our vibration of energy from within and connecting with one another on a higher and faster frequency that is happening now on this planet. For some this is inconceivable and for others, the transformation has already begun"

If you would like to review my book either get in touch via http://goodreads.com/garymarkwick or email me on gary@palmistryinhand.com and I will send you a free download.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Ioana Visan (ioanavisan) | 8 comments Hi everyone,

I'm offering free electronic copies of my apocalyptic novella Human Instincts in exchange for a honest review posted on Amazon, Goodreads or your blog.

Synopsis:
Dr. Deanna Nichols is a geneticist searching for a cure to save the world. After the war nearly destroyed it by releasing an aggressive virus, it was the vaccine that killed the humanity’s chances for progress and survival. Deanna feels guilty because she has participated in creating the vaccine, and General Mackenzie never lets her forget that.

Their luck changes when they are contacted by the convicts held in a secret military prison hidden in the arctic desert. The C deviance criminals are willing to negotiate and provide unaffected DNA samples in exchange for supplies and a visit paid by the doctor herself. Suddenly there’s hope, so Deanna embarks on a dangerous journey to a grittier reality than she had expected.

Could a woman alone save the world?

Scott Andrews | 6 comments I am looking for 10 reviewers for my novel Existence Is Futile

‘Professor Henry Tomlinson, accredited member of the National Microbiologists Association, author of the best seller ‘The Futility of Sheep’, widower, father of twins, sat on the chair in his ransacked study and for the first time in his life, asked himself if he was losing his mind.’

There are three things which can irrevocably change a man’s life – the death of a loved one, a moment of revelation and saying the wrong thing at precisely the wrong time. Unfortunately for Professor Henry Tomlinson, he has recently experienced all three. And it’s those experiences which threaten to push him over the edge. Is his past really key to understanding his present, or is it yet another trick of his mind?

‘Existence Is Futile’, the debut novel from Scott Andrews, tells the story of one man’s struggle to keep his head whilst he tries to come to terms with his own reality. ‘Existence Is Futile’ aspires to address a number of existential questions, is brave enough to attempt jokes which don’t include toilets and inclusive enough to include a ninja. That’s right. A ninja.

I can provide the Ebook in any format. If you are interested contact me here on Goodreads.

Amazon link:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008X76CD6

Goodreads:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...

Synopsis:

Alan loves the beach. More than a weekend respite, it is his home, his refuge, his sanctuary. And for most of the year, he strolls the sand in blissful solitude, letting nature—and no one else—touch him. But spring has given way to summer, and soon, the annual invasion of vacationers and tourists will subdivide the beach with blankets, umbrellas, and chairs, depriving Alan of his privacy and seclusion—the fundamental touchstones of his life.

Resigned to endure another seasonal onslaught of beach-goers, Alan believes there is nothing he can do but prepare for the worst.

But fate has other plans.

Delivered to him on the crest of a rogue wave, the strange object appears to have no purpose, no practical use—until Alan accidentally discovers what waits inside. Now he must attempt to unravel an ageless mystery, unaware that the final outcome will change his life, and the beach, forever.

In the companion novella Short Time, you’ll meet a respectable but bored middle-class executive, who exchanges his future for six months of excess and extravagance, only to find out the price he must pay for his hedonistic indulgence is beyond anything he could have imagined.

THE MERCHANT AND THE MENACE: BOOK I OF THE SERAPHINIUM

description

The Merchant and the Menace

The Seraphim. Beings of power, created to guide the world in times of trouble. They live their lives of near immortality in servitude to a lesser creature, man.

One rebelled. Amird, the Hand of the Creator, bridled at the sovereignty of his lord. In defiance he murdered a brother and was cast into the Mists of Chaos.

Millennia passed as the Deceiver plotted his return. Backed by the might of a seemingly unstoppable army of Ulrog Stone Men and their fire-eyed Malveel Lords, Amird plans to wrest control of the world from the Creator and rain violence on the humans he once served.

All that stands between Amird and his triumphant return are the remnants of battered human armies and the hope that Seraphim, loyal to the Creator, still roam this world.

Kael knows little of this struggle. His quiet village lies deep in the Southlands, unchanged and unchallenged by the wars raging in the frozen North. In fact, the boy longs for a bit of adventure and freedom from the boring routine at his father’s inn.

Freedom comes at a cost. Kael’s first journey outside his secluded village results in a tragedy so deep it destroys the boy’s sheltered world and immerses him in the struggle.

Revelations surface. Kael uncovers a past linking him to legends, grapples with a present that resembles nothing he knows, and confronts a future that demands he tap long dormant power and stake a claim in the defense of the human races.

Kael’s first step toward that future lies through the darkness of the Nagur Wood, and rumor has it something prowls the Nagur!

Larry, I would be glad to read and review. I put my reviews up on Goodreads & Amazon. You can check out my reviews here on Goodreads. I would, however, need an actual book. Please let me know if I can be of assistance. Thanks. Brenda

Mike Hogan | 3 comments Hi everyone,
My novel Penny for the Guy Mr Olivier is free on Kindle today and tomorrow.

Penny for the Guy Mr Olivier by Mike Hogan

It's a romp in and around the Old Vic theatre in London in 1963 as twelve-year-old Mikey Cleary tries to keep his world: family, school, church, his gang, the Vic and his weird dentists apart from each other. Peter O'Toole appears, as Hamlet.
I would be very grateful for any comments or reviews.

V. Shaw (VShaw) | 2 comments I'm looking to give away free copies of my ebook, The Lady of Chains and Other Stories in return for some honest reviews.

Amazon Synopsis:

http://www.amazon.com/Lady-Chains-Oth...

“Remember; you have seventy-two hours to do the deed and not a moment longer. Cut her throat and remove her heart. That, my girl, is the only way to destroy the wretched creature.”

Greylock. A city supported by a network of scaffolding, bleeding rust and wheezing steam. Patrolled by an army of ‘metal men’—creatures who’re designed for nothing more than to kill and destroy. Nothing grows. Nothing truly lives.

The tower stands like an ice-pick, pushing through a snarl of thorns, resting upon the outskirts of Greylock. Its shadow is cast across the city like an elongated clock-hand, chipping away the hours, the days. The years. It is home to the Lady of Chains, a woman incarcerated without a sentence. A woman who almost single-handedly destroyed the world . . .

Viola, a young orphan girl, has been thrust into this nightmarish world by the devious Mrs Casket, caretaker of the tower and maid to the mysterious lady. She’s been given a task which could either see her demise or be her salvation.

But who is the Lady of Chains? And why does she insist that she is connected to Viola? With the clock ticking and the metal men drawing near, Viola is about to learn that not everything is what it seems . . .

A spellbinding fantasy with elements of steampunk.

Pushpam Singh (pushpamsingh) | 18 comments Dear all

My first novel "Shades of Shadows" is published and is out in book stores.

Summary of my book-

Every soul has a shadow. Every shadow has a shade. Every shade has a unique spirit. It is the beginning of life on earth. Life sprouts in the navel of Kausar, a land blessed with beautiful contours and landscapes. As life opens its eyes in the backdrop of silence and darkness, beauty wrapped in mysterious silk sings for it. On such a changing canvas of Nature, Kavi meets Kavya. Love finds a new flavor in their romance and Kausar finds a new array in their presence. But with change in the mood of time, the melody of shades undergo a change. Will these melodies sustain the test of time..? Join Kavi and Kavya on this poetic and intriguing journey to find out more…"
I have used 50 poems to showcase various emotions of Kavi and Kavya.
