Option to merge genres/shelves synonyms names?

Where is option to merge genres/shelves synonyms names?

There are many duplicated shelves for example:

sci-fi http://www.goodreads.com/genres/sci-fi
science-fiction http://www.goodreads.com/genres/scien...
scifi http://www.goodreads.com/genres/scifi
sf http://www.goodreads.com/genres/sf

they were merged to one:
http://www.goodreads.com/genres/scien...

when we enter http://www.goodreads.com/genres/sci-fi
we will be redirected to http://www.goodreads.com/genres/scien...


Where is this option? How can I do that?
This can be done only with genres, but not with shelves?

This can only be done by GR staff AFAIK.

Actually, it is not done at all. They can be linked via the genre feature, but merging would force renamed shelves on users, and we absolutely do not do that.

Main shelf will be turkish-literature and türk-edebiyatı shelf will be merged to turkish-literature.

No, genres are really shelf names by merging you would be changing the name of the shelf a user created to catalog their books
