Its been an effort but now I'm here at least the adventure begins. For a while I thought I was going to be spending more time working on the system than actually talking about and reading books.
Great that you like Soccer.
*dances into Petter's Cubical*
Yeah, Peter, you made it. I like what the builders did with your room :]
Nice desk, but your walls need something...I brought you a poster ...

Oh, and here is a plate of freshly baked brownies.
*Puts the plate of brownies on Peter's desk*
Welcome to our little world :]

I,ve just come in and there are cookies missing and I don't know how to put my poster up.
Fairy dust is not something we Brits recognise but I do see the door swinging closed. I'll be here for a while.
Thankyou so much for the gifts, I will now attempt to have them fuel my meanderings.

Hey Peter, I brought Edward with me, he is taller and does a great job with hanging posters.
*Looks around for the best place*
Ok, Edward, put it over there, on the wall opposite Peter's desk.
*Brings in a jar of Double Devon Cream and a plate of Walkers Shortbread*

Home is where my heart is. Right now it's London. However, at this moment I'm in Nashville. You did ask.
Nashville is a fun town.
My heart is in Tintagel, but my body is in New York :)
Good thing our hearts can survive without our bodies :)

*Rushes out of room and rushes back with poster in hand*
Ok, here is another poster for your wall :)

Would you like Edward to hang it for you?
So, wow, Nashville, is really, really, really a long way from London.

I went to the Grand Old Opry last night. I felt conspicuously underdressed without a stetson. No need for them in London
If you are going to stay there for any length of time, you will at least have to buy a decent pair of cowboy boots :)

I,ve scratched out another bit of 'A Stranger in a strange land '. Is this bit of writing in what you call my cubicle ? If so, how do I post it to the group. I really am hopless at this techno stuff. Thanks also for the pictures but where do I put them ? Maybe I,ve been sent to develop your patience muscles !
*Points around the room where Edward has pinned the posters to your walls*
Posters are already hung, hopefully your like the placement. Makes your cubical very cozy, don't you think?
In a manly-man sort of way of course :]

Ta Da...Ok, your pictures are hung, and links to your stories posted.
*Pours you a spot of tea, and puts it on your desk*
There, now you are all comfy cozy in your new writing cubical.

Thankyou for this. I followed the links and saw that the pieces have indeed been posted. I'm not sure how you did that but will ponder it awhile. BUT, I cant see any posters anywhere. Am I in the wrong room or something ? I think I may go slightly mad before I figure this out. The writing is very easy compared to this. When I crack it a bottle of champagne will be delivered to your cubicle - if I ever find it !
*Sits Peter down in the big chair, at his desk, takes off his glasses and cleans them on a corner of my T-shirt. Puts his glasses back on him*
Better?
Ok, Now look across from you, on the wall. See the poster of the footy-ball team?
http://www.footballpictures.net/data/...
Good.
Not look to your right
*Swivels Peter's chair around*
See on that wall, the picture of London?
http://stubwah1.files.wordpress.com/2...
Oh, and here is the map that will lead you to my cubical, it is located in the building next to you.
*points to the red x on the map*
I am right there :]

I think my spatial imagination is slightly lacking but I think I'm beginning to get used to this cubicle concept.
Mine might need to be padded !
Oh, not a problem...there is a ton of padding under the oak paneling :)
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. The only silly question is the one "not" asked.

Sorry, Dee, couldn't resist.=D
Don't worry Peter, Dee's cubical is more popular than the party room!

Just when I thought I was getting the hang of this I post your message twice instead of responding. How about I write an article called 'Confessions of an inept technophobe'.
Thanks for the tip on the pictures, I'll go and click them !
How are you ?
Oh, and here is a link to your poem,
It is very beautiful by the way :)

Oh, thanks very much. I'm sitting on a plane in Detroit waiting to fly to London. Am about to settle down with my book'The 19th wife' and hopefully go to sleep very quickly.
Thanks for the link.
If you run into Martin Millar while in London...please give him a huge hug from me :)
Have a safe trip.

have fun while writing your book!!
Hey Peter,
When you get back to the states (assuming you are coming back), I will have to send you a copy of SOA, so that you will have something to read on your next trip across the pond :)

Good Morning Peter,
We hope you had a smooth ride and uneventful flight back to London.
Wishing you a weekend filled with magical moments of writing inspiration, and no use for a bumbershoot :]

Alzheimers Valentine

I do not recall
the first time we met
or the last time we kissed
or what makes you smile.
I remember strange and mysterious things that are sometimes about you
or someone else,
Yours a jaded reflection
shimmering through the broken pool,
In the hotchpotch of my mind there are a thousand scrambled jigsaws
but your picture shines so many times.
So many times I look for you
but your not with me,
You do the same.
I often travel to far away places
but when I return
I come home to you.

They say at the end every hero is a bore. That's true too with technology. I began last night with high excitement that here at last in cyberspace I had found in this site something meaningful. A place worth the surfing. A home for scattered thoughts and a country to explore. Twenty hours or so later I arrive with the help of a new found friend reminded yet again that new media still has a way to go until it becomes truly intuitive and receives its true passport to world domination.
And so a technical Luddite has stumbled upon your shore. If you are a native here and would welcome an alien I am glad at last to be among you and my right hand is extended.
