And Umbridge, because although she wasn't a Death Eater she was her own personal brand of evil and twisted....yeah I really wanted to smack her in the toad face.
Team James to all those haters btw ;)

Umbridge, I wanted her dead more than Voldemort!

umbridge kinda made me sick with that fake smile thing and that little annoying laugh that was like ha im going to make your life miserable sort of thing but you can't do anything about it so get out of my way or i'll curse you. also its just a load of crap. I bet if the teachers had really tried they could have done something about it. maybe they could have had a wizarding vote thing to impeach the minister at the time you know kinda like we do the president of the united states if we don't like the one currently in office.

I missed seriouse after the fith book. I was so looking forward to Harry getting to live somewhere where he could be happy and not have to sneak the tv from the Dursleys and not have to sneak an actual meal.
Hmm tough one for me... but I'll go with (drumroll***)
***Umbridge***!
***Umbridge***!

WHATTTTTT? Why? She's like one of the best characters. I love that she's all house-wife-y and then kicks serious ass d..."
I agree when she killed Bellatrix, but I think she's to much of a mother-hen. The 5th book is where she really grates my nerves, espically when she shoves Sirius away from Harry at the train station, and she also says "act like a dog Sirius" She called the black dog Sirius in a place full of people, almost as if she wants Sirius out of Harry's life- or that's the vibe I got. She felt Sirius as a threat to her position as the 'Mother' to the orphan. She'd rather wrap Harry in bubble wrap and stick him in a cupboard until Voldemort is gone and wants to keep him in the dark about Voldy, whereas I agree with Sirius that Harry NEEDS TO KNOW what Voldy is doing, considering he's at the top of Voldemort's Hit List. And she is way to hard on her children and doesn't want them to do what they want as a job (Fred,George).
Where are the next would you rathers?

It's under http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/8...

Since Snape hated Harry because he looked like James, it made me wonder would he still treat him the same way if Harry was a /boygirl that had red hair and brown eyes or a female with black hair and green eyes.

I hated Voldemort too, but he added excitement in the story....even though I hate his character...I loved reading about him....fascinating.
Umbridge, but to be honest... my least favourite character would have to be Harry (DON'T HATE ON ME!!!)

James also wasn't exactly my favorite."

Oh don't worry it's totally fine I get questioned about this by my friends.
One of the main reasons I can't stand these characters is actually because they get so praised, both in and out of the books; and I don't think it's warranted.
As for Ron, I didn't like the poor way he treated women and the way he cared too much about shallow things in life and he was kind of a jerk for a lot of the series (Book 1, made Hermione cry with little to no remorse just because she was smarter than him. Book 2, can't think of much actually. Book 3, cast off Hermione just because he though her cat killed his dumb rat. Book 4, abandoned Harry at his most lonely point just because he was jealous he got into the Triwizard Tournament and he didn't. Also treated Hermione like dirt at the ball just because she ended up looking pretty even though he'd wanted to go with Fleur in the first place. Book 5, initially didn't want to hang out with Luna because she wasn't considered cool and was "loony." Book 6, he basically used Lavendar and took advantage of her feelings for him just to make Hermione jealous. Book 7, abandoned Harry and Hermione in the woods for WEEKS because obviously his life is more important than theirs.
And I just find it annoying that he's always referred to as the "loyal one" yet he's ditched Harry and Hermione how many times because of his ego? Meanwhile Harry and Hermione remain loyal to those on their side, but they never get credit for it.
That's my lil Ron rant!

James also wasn't exactly my favorite."

As for James, to put it quite simply, he just reminds me of a butthole rich preppy popular high school golden boy football player bully who gets the girl and has a tight pack of friends and picks on the nerd and never gets called out for it because he ends up growing up and maturing and getting married and having kids and gets a job.
It just doesn't seem fair that he completely gets away with being a jerk just because he matured. I mean, I could understand if he made his apologies or at least acknowledged that he wasn't the best guy in high school, but everyone from McGonagall to Dumbledore acts like even in his Hogwarts days he was a saint.
It's just annoying.
And Snape had a really rough, lonely childhood and never had anything in life. There's no way he should've been expected by anyone to just *magically* become a great guy. It would've been a miracle!
Meanwhile, what's James' excuse, perfect family, loved by all, for having been such a bully?!?!

And lastly, Ginny.
I could write a whole essay about this girl.
For starters her personality COMPLETELY changed out of nowhere in book 5 just because JKR decided she was going to end up with Harry.
I really didn't mind Ginny till that book. I was pretty indifferent about her, though it was a bit annoying that she nearly killed like 10 people in COS yet didn't say a word because she was scared of getting in trouble (a little selfish if you ask me) but I guess I'll let it slide because she was 11. But as I was saying, I didn't have any issue with Ginny until book 5. She wasn't terrible but it was clear she'd changed and I started to get a little ticked off by her. Then book 6 was just my breaking point.
Ok so, Ginny's basically a Mary-Sue, but kinda a passive aggressive bully if you ask me.
She's just sooo beautiful (even Blaise Zabini thinks so!) and so popular and she gets alll the boys and she's soo great at Quidditch she even plays seeker and she's just sooo great at magic she even got invited to be in Slughorn's Club just for doing that one Bat Bogey Hex!
And yet?
-She acted like she's friends with Luna for charity work. She'd still "accidentally" "slip up" and call her Loony to other people (i.e. the Golden Trio) to make sure people still thought of her as cool and think it was fine to do just as long as she didn't say it to Luna's face.
-The way she made fun of Fleur in Book 6? Completely cruel and unjustified. Sure Fleur was a little stuck up but she really never did anything wrong to Ginny, or anyone for that matter. Calling her "Phlegm" and "a cow" and and pretending to puke into her cereal when she spoke and just being an all around jerk was unnecessary and flat out bullying. She wouldn't do those things when she could see or hear her of course. Which in my opinion makes it even worse.
-She used and took advantage of boys to get Harry's attention, even literally admitting that she'd never given up on him (and that she basically just dated other people hoping he'd notice)
-And can you imagine? For Harry's 17th birthday present she just made out with him!
-She's considered "funny" yet anytime she makes a joke it's at the expense of someone else's feelings.
-Just look at this scene after Harry used that bloody Sectumsempra spell and landed Draco in the hospital wing (a character I don't even like I might add).
"Give it a rest, Hermione!" said Ginny, and Harry was so amazed, so grateful, he looked up. "By the sound of it Malfoy was trying to use an unforgivable curse, you should be glad Harry had something good up his sleeve!"
"Well, of course I’m glad Harry wasn’t cursed!" said Hermione, clearly stung. "But you can’t call that sectumsempra spell good, Ginny, look where it’s landed him! And I’d have thought, seeing what this has done to your chances in the match –"
"Oh, don’t start acting as though you understand Quidditch," snapped Ginny. "You’ll only embarrass yourself."
-Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Anyway I could go on and on but that's all for now, thanks for listening!
