not sure when we were going to get the ball rolling, but I wanted to add..I really enjoyed this second installment, much more than the first..
I loved the blooming relationship between Jae & Ryder and was thrilled at the eye-opening realization that Lucien and Caia finally came to.
it really encouraged my hunger for the third book..can't wait to contiune!
I absolutely love Jae and Ryder lol! There journey from the beginning has always made me laugh! I'm thrilled that Lucien and Caia are finally finding their middle ground now, even though there was a few times i wanted to crawl into the book and scream at them lol! But I'm now all ready for the next installment i can't wait to find out what happens!!!
I agree about Caia and Lucien finally getting their life together back on track. This second book kept me guessing about what was going to happen the whole way through. I think I actually gasped audibly at the end when we discover who the "mole" is in the book. Can't wait to start 3rd book.
Yes there were quite a few surprises! I loved when Lucien finally got his eyes opened as to how his actions were effecting his relationship and finally understood why Caia was acting how she was. I think someone should have slapped him for that kiss though...
If memory serves me correct when i read the part where 'that kiss' *Rolling my eyes from his stupidity* happened in the book i repeatedly head butted the page muttering 'stupid man, stupid man!!!' Lol!!!
Oh my goodness...I should be kicked out for failing this...
Thank you guys for going ahead...
This book really made me fall for Jae and Ryder even more. Really loved him!!
I still got so angry with the relationship of Caia and Lucien sometimes...But, was so glad when certain things worked out too...
I wanted to strangle Rose...And was blown away at some of the surprises as well...

Laura wrote: "If memory serves me correct when i read the part where 'that kiss' *Rolling my eyes from his stupidity* happened in the book i repeatedly head butted the page muttering 'stupid man, stupid man!!!' ..."Yes!!! OMG! I mean she defiantly needed smacked around many times through out... evil scheming little huzzy! But yes the kiss truly earned him some punishment in my thoughts!
And what about Rhuben!? OMG! I had a feeling there was something not quite right, but i was hoping that i was wrong! Well wasn't i optimistic lol!
lol I knew when I read River Cast that man was hiding something! Have you read book 3 yet? wait till you read book 3!!! lol... I find it very difficult discussing without including ALL books :) I was so very happy that Jae and Ryder were finally brought together and that she came home and found out how loving and understanding her family and friends all were... I was a bit irritated she let Rhuben keep hanging around though... not that she could have got rid of him, I'm quite sure he would have stayed even if she told him to leave.
I haven't read book 3 yet but have ordered it and eagerly awaiting its arrival!!! I thought that Samantha had touched upon Jae's emotions on how she dealt, and was still dealing with what happened to her in such a delicate way but with so much truth to it! Does that make sense? And that it's good that she hasn't just gone something bad happened to her and now she is absolutely fine, which i find to often in books xx
Laura wrote: "I haven't read book 3 yet but have ordered it and eagerly awaiting its arrival!!! Jae went through so much and even with her running off and venting and rebelling and all she still had a lot to deal with. I just loved that even though she thought she'd do better out on her own that she wasn't truly happy until she was home with her loved ones :)

Totally agree!! I, too, love how she wasn't truly happy until she was at home with her loved ones....

I was shocked when I heard about Rueben, I kept trying to decide who was going to be the mole, but I really thought he was going to be in league with someone else...I'm really interested to see what's going to happen in the third book....and basically like everyone else, I LOVED Jae and Ryder in this book, maybe a little more than Caia and Lucien at times...but that moment when Lucien told Caia he loved her was PRETTY amazing, it reminded me that I did actually still like them lol <3
I also loved it when he told her he loved her! It sure took him long enough!!! Those two sure did make things hard on themselves!
Amy wrote: "I also loved it when he told her he loved her! It sure took him long enough!!! Those two sure did make things hard on themselves!"you can say that again...I wanted to shake some sense into them more than once, but my kindle did not respond so well to my attempt to do so!

Yes you have to be careful when reading from a kindle they aren't very forgiving lol.. many times while reading the trilogy I had to remind myself of that!
Ok, first, I should be thrown out, Kathryn. I've been through goodreads and saw NOTHING. Today I get an email showing all your comments from the 30th and now today I see you ladies have been conducting quite a discussion all on your own...as if you couldn't anyway. Anyhow, as always, loving the comments. Your reviews are GREAT! Ruben, Ruben RUBEN! Like Amy said, wait until Blood Solstice! OMG!!! Lucien...well, if I wasn't so angry at Rose, ugh...I wanted Caia to kick both their arses. For me, Jae and Ryder made River Cast. Jae showed such courage and strength. Wanting to preserve the pact by going it alone...such a crazy and brave move. And her powers??? AMAZING! Her homecoming brought on more than a few tears. And the ceremony?! Well of course more tears.
Are there any other side characters you find interesting... or amusing? I like Marion and Saffron. The tension between Saffron and Ryder is too much fun. Her tauntings are hilarious. I also love Vilhelm and Laila. Laila is such a mysterious creature and she definitely sheds some light on Caia's other side. Any battles moments that stand out? The training? MORE on Lucien and Caia?
So what are your thoughts on the Centre? Marita and the Council? Kirios? And what about Rueben??? Any guesses as to what might happen next?

Hmmm I can't guess cause I already know!!!! lol I will say though that I had my guess as to what was going to happen but when I read Blood Solsstice I was in for more surprises :) but that only makes me love it more! I like being surprised it keeps me interested! I do love Marion and Saffron and especially Saffron and Ryder's interaction... and then when Jae joins in on it!! I so enjoyed Marion telling Lucien what an idiot he was being lol... And poor sweet Laila! I'm so glad Caia saved her <3 Her and Vilhelm are so sweet together :) And the fact that Ryder took them at their word and trusted Caia and protected them till she came back made me love him even more! I totally understand Jae's reluctance but after getting to know them she was right there protecting them too!!!

Lol. I'm the same way. Some surprises shock and nearly kill me, but what would be the fun without them. Oh yes, Jae and Saffron ganging up. Haha Ryder! Jae's reluctance is completely understandable. She does indeed come around. She's definitely a girl I want on my team. A true tour de force.
I loved Marion giving Lucien the whatfor. I really love her character too. She's got a few surprises of her own. I found the two covens fascinating. Sam's creativity really shows with all the different forces and how they segregate.

Yes she is very creative! I love all her books and how she writes. I love how everyone in her stories are "normal" like... no prince charming who does it all right.. just like every other man a bit of an idiot in personal affairs lol and the same with all the characters, they all have their own attitudes and characteristics that you either love or hate or both but it all works so well together! Everyone is different and yet they still fit together :)

I have loved all of her books as well. Slumber still remains near the top, though I really can't pick a favorite. The Lunarmorte trilogy is the first I read. No Prince Charming for sure. For me they all seem so real. People you could meet anywhere, in the right circumstance. So relatable. She definitely knows how to stir my emotions. ;)

Shelley (Bella) wrote...stir my emotions...."For sure..she has a unique gift..I felt so angry with the first book, and then the second book I was a ping pong ball...
sad, aching, happy, proud (is it weird to feel proud when the characters pull their head out..and listen to your insane screaming??) and then devasted at the turn of events...I truly can NOT wait to see how this plays out!
Yes!!! You it's completely normal to feel proud when they finally listen to you :) But don't get to happy about that because they will stop listening to you again lol.I'm currently trying to figure out how to write my review of Blood Solstice. I don't like to put spoilers in my review but this time I can't figure out any way to keep from doing that... unless I leave it simply at OMG!!!!! lol

Sheri, I am laughing out loud at your comments. Ping pong ball is so apt a description. Sometimes I feel like the are trusting my sanity and resolve.
All I can say about the next one is hold on to your hats...again!

Lol. I love your not so subtle hint not to get too happy. Blood Solstice is another helluva ride. It is hard not to spill some when you're expressing your feelings for these characters you've followed through such a trying journey. I really want to read your review now. ;)

Everyone else, just want to be sure you're coming along ok. Need to get those reviews up. If you're not able to keep up, please try to have all 3 finished, with reviews, by the end of the challenge. We know life throws us curve balls. I've had a few tossed at me lately, so I completely understand if some of you are struggling. Just let us know where you're at...and if we can help.
Happy reading, guys!
P.S. I recommend adding friendships with all involved here. I know most of you, and this is a really great group of gals. Lots of diversity...yet so many similarities, great rec's, and just generally good, fun, kind people. Good to know and share with. ;)
