Women and Men discussion
Trying to find a Copy?

agreed - you may eventually find one for 60-range, but you could wait a year for it. And it's really not worth waiting all those extra months to save $10. At $78, it's still a bargain for the experience you'll have!

I hope someone picks it up.

Can you link me to the seller? I think I'm going to take this deal

This is their amazon page ; but I don't see their McElroy anymore ::

Luke informed me it was sold. Time to start the haggling with other sellers online!

I have an extra copy of Women & Men that I have decided to deacquisition myself of, and am probably going to post it on eBay soon. I'd be just as happy to strike a deal in this fine forum.
It's in near perfect condition, seemingly unread. I found this copy in a used store some years ago in Yellow Springs, Ohio, home to Antioch University. There are no marks in the book, nor damage. The jacket is very slightly yellowed from its original cream color, and the jacket also has one minute tear (0.5 cm) on the back edge.
$60 + shipping (from Canada), or best offer! Reply here or at M.Siefring@gmail.com. Pics available too.

Sweet! Hope someone here takes you up on your offer!

But supposedly we have a due date for the second [edit: third?] edition...
I don't know what to do.

Depending upon preferences of course ; but this is one of those that are especially beautiful in hardcover. The advantage of the forthcoming edition (aside from $$$) is that it should be the most textually accurate possible. Joe's making sure every letter is the right letter. But this hardcover is one beautiful thing and (personally) I'd have it no other way!

Nathan, are you aware of textual inaccuracies (typos or otherwise) in the Knopf edition? When I read it in 2011 I didn't pick up on any, or if so, only the exceedingly rare typo.
I am glad to have found a buyer through this forum rather than elsewhere!

I don't recall having been struck by any. But now that you mention it, I sure do hope Joe and/or Dzanc provide us with a list of any changes/corrections made for this new edition.

Thank you Terry for posting your book offer on here first. And thank you Nathan for starting this group in the first place.

Not sure. The Book Dep listing almost looks legit. One of us'll have to get an email shot off to Dzanc. But the date feels almost right ; just need some hard confirmation. Fingers=crossed?

Very cool! Now if only amazon would get their page cleared up (isbn is still MonkeyBicycle) and/or Dzanc would get their page set up ;; we could get some of these good gr's some pre-orders.

Ditto. I have 4 copies of it already! What not a 5th? Though this is more to support Joe than Dzanc

Still no update on the Dzanc edition.

Joe's webpage is now listing it for "Fall 2017".
B&N has it listed for pre=order, pub's on "7/11/2017", for $22.95 (list) and a healthy 39% off.
amazon's classic scrambled egg still has "Monkeybicycle Issue 5" associated with the isbn, but does have the generic yellow Dzanc cover now ; but the price is still wrong.
I'm pretty much fatigued waiting for this thing.

Every convo I've had with him recently, he just kinda elides the answer about when it's coming. We'll get it when we get it. He's cooking away at water--close to finished, he claims. Also been talking about a novel he's been working on since the late '40s nearing completion, another novel which has been excerpted on the internet (Voir Dire), not as close to done and secret whispers of a novella. I can say no more.

Joe's page still says "Fall 2017". I've heard no further updates.

Given the condition it's in, I have to agree, it sounds unread. From a collector standpoint, that's good. From fan standpoint, not so much.
