Oh I'm so curious to hear what you think. This was such a dark book and difficult for me to read. Yet, still the writing was a 5 star read for me.

The more I think about it I think it is a 5 star because of they story line, I think the characters just really annoyed me and I think that's why I couldn't right away give it a 5*

I had to think that one through before I gave it 5 stars too. It was definitely a dark book and out of my normal reading box.

I completely get that! I loved this one because the writing kind of blew my mind, but there was definitely some frustration with the characters! I'm happy you ended up liking it enough for 5 stars!

I finished and I really enjoyed it! I really liked Zeb and Sayer. I need to go back and read the rest of the marked men series, because those characters make appearances in this novel...you don't have to have read the marked men series...but this novel kind of makes you want to read it.

Now I'm starting something different than my typical reads. I'm going to be reading

Nice review, it's a shame you didn't recommend audiobooks, because I love them make me read at their own pace.

I finished and I loved it! The author did an amazing job of portraying an unfamiliar setting. I could vividly picture the scenes in my mind and it was awesome! Can't wait to get my hands on book 2 ....but for now I'll be reading

Chris - the first Maddox Brother Book - - I didn't care for (I read it a while ago) and I put off reading the others but the the second one was much better...I'm starting the third when I finish my current read.
