Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell is really good. Not as good as Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell but it still is a fave of mine. It just a different kind of book altogether I think. What genres do you like Chris? I'm open too! It's funny because I just started reading YA the past few years. Goodreads got me interested in that genre. I use to read thrillers and chick lit. I think that's why I'm so excited about the Reading Challenge 2015, I feel like I'm going to find new authors and genres.

Anyway, I'm reading Wreck Me (Nova, #4) by Jessica Sorensen

message 1814: by Chris (new)

Chris K. | 1404 comments Erika I don't know I haven't read both of them but I heard FANGIRL is better than Eleanor and Park ..

umm My favorite genres is YA /NA or chick-lit or paranormal or dystopian

It wasn't a fave of mine. I just really didn't like Alaska! So I finished solely for the fact I felt like I had to see it through.

I really love Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell , but agree with Erika it isn't as good as Eleanor and Park. I did relate to the whole fangirl thing because I'm kind of like that with Superman. haha

I'm jealous you are starting Wreck Me (Nova, #4) by Jessica Sorensen . I am so bored with the two books I am reading and want to start it. I'm over 350 pages into one book, but still have 100 left and about 50% into the other, but neither are gripping me. I think I'm going to put one away and start Wreck me too!!

I really liked this one, even though Alaska wasn't really a likable character, but I think it was okay that I didn't like her. If that makes sense. LOL

Vega_girl | 6624 comments Ahh I had to go to my kids award assembly and I come back and you guys are all over the place!!! LOL!!

1. Chris I think I meant Paranormal not fantasy I have a hard time identifying genres
2. I want to read Fangirl but I was not a big fan of Attachments

3. I was also not a fan of Looking for Alaska like Erika I finished it on principle.

4. I think my issue for both is I feel like I read their best book first so I was expecting to much from the next ones. I.e. TFIOS and E&P.

message 1821: by Erika (new)

Erika | 9482 comments I agree with you Barb on 4, so true!!
I have to say I do think Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell is way better than Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

message 1822: by Chris (new)

Chris K. | 1404 comments luckily for me I read Attachments first :D

BUT It seems like I'm not gonna continue Looking for Alaska
I was gonna use it for the 2015 challenge where a book I read but didnt finish

I think Alaska is very different from all the other female characters out there, you either hate her or love her, but I'd say give it another shot! I personally think it's better than TFIOS (nobody shoot me please aha). I especially like how we grow along with Miles as the story develops, and personally I can relate to his introvert personality, so it's interesting to see how that plays out :)

It's a completely different book, so that just means you have different taste and that's good. IFYI, I believe their making Looking for Alaska by John Green into a movie...
