Tahlia, I just moved this thread for you:) There are a couple of other blogging threads under this heading, you can check them out too if you wish:)

After reading this post, I just looked and I'm currently #108 top reviewer for Aus :D
I've just started my blog, it's not 100% for book reviews, but given I read a lot, they do pop up quite a bit.
Feel free to check it out if you'd like.

I'm checking it out now.

Lauren and Lynxie, if you're interested in fantasy or magical realism, I'd be happy to give you any of my ebooks for review. They're all listed on my page. Two of them are short stories, but A Matter of Perception includes both of them plus The Drorgon Slayers Choice - a paranormal romance of 8 chapters.
Message me if you're interested.

There are a few book bloggers here Tahla, but you might have better luck checking out the Book blogger group. Plenty of bloggers there with links to their sites so you can go check their review policies and approach the right ones for you.

Thanks Belle. With my new book out, it's a good time to find some new blogs. I have masses of contacts overseas, but hardly any here.

Well I saw that you had already commented so didn't list you :P

Hehe I'm just an attention seeker :P

Brenda was kind enough to direct me to this forum after I apparently posted on the wrong one. I would LOVE some Aussie followers on my FB page and my blog. I am a Queenslander, new at all this. I just wrote a review on my blog about 'Exit Wounds', One Australian's War on terror. by Major General John Cantwell.

Hi June,
Clancy is a very knowledgable man. It is blog well worth reading!

As I said, really REALLY basic with only 1 post atm...

Good post Ashleigh. left a comment re stereotypes and gender.

because it's addictive and a lot of fun :)

I fully agree with the sentiments expressed in your post on Censorship in your blog, Ashleigh. During my 30 years as a foreign correspondent in Asia I experienced the censorship of authoritarian states and obstacles to freedom of expression. I was horrified by the recent proposal by the Federal Government for a media law to apply new controls over the press and free expression generally.
Fortunately, the legislation has been shelved. But I believe we need to keep constantly alert to resist any efforts to curb freedom of expression in books or anywhere else. You might like to take a look at my post on Defending Free Speech in the left-hand column of my blog:

We have to be particularly on guard against book censorship by stealth through calls for the removal of words or phrases to make a publication “politically correct” and moves by groups or government to apply censorship, as you say, for “the good of the public”.

Now the long task of updating all my scattered links begins as well. What fun :)

I am keen to start a blog but have no idea where to start. What's the best site to set up a blog account?
Thanks for any help (sorry if there is a different thread for this!) :)
I am not a reviewer, I just blog about books I love and then post the review on Goodreads too. I just love talking about books and finding great reads from others.

I would recommend Wordpress.com as a place to start, while blogspot may be easier, in the long run you are better off with wordpress. It's not too difficult to setup and use and there is so many options if you do decide to be a serious blogger.

I really like wordpress. It's fairly easy to use - especially for someone like me who is fairly hopeless with computers.

Hi Angela! I created my blog through blogspot and I found it all very easy which is good because I'm not very 'techie'.

Good luck with the blog Angela. :D

If you decide to give me some feedback, please do it on my tumblr blog's ask, a primate message through here or on the email on the blog. It's easier for me to be notice it that way than a reply on here.

Would love you to drop by and tell me your fav book :-)
