Who to play Zoey?

I heard that they're making movies out of this series but they're having trouble deciding who should play Zoey. Whoever the cast people pick, the authors don't like. And whoever the authors pick, they can't for some reason commit to the movies. Your thoughts? I personally have no idea who should play her, but I'm kinda hoping they don't pick some HUGE star, but some new up-and-comer.
