I completely agree. Not everything should be forgiven. Charley was a child and Stepmom was a heartless bitch. Even if she's having a change of heart now doesn't mean Charley should, IMO. (hide spoiler)]

REYES : (view spoiler)[ Holy hotness *swoon* but he was a bit of an arse & I'm starting to second guess him which makes me wonder why Charley doesn't. She usually has a unique way of looking at things but it seems as if she's blind when it comes to Reyes & not just in the normal 'early relatoinship' way.

I agree. Darynda does a great job writing Reyes. I swear his hotness almost melts the reader sometimes. LOL! He's Charley's blind spot for sure.

Yeah, I like that they are opposites and so drawn to each other. That said, I'm really curious to see where she's (Darynda) going with their story. The more we learn about Charley, the more I'm feeling they'll never be able to be together and wonder if one will end up having to kill/banish/destroy the other. That makes me sad though, so I don't think of it that way. ;)

Charley/Cookie: (view spoiler)[I hope to God Cookie doesn't leave but I'm worried that with Reyes moving to his new place that it might escalate the problems. Will that push her over the edge in her need to protect Amber? Charley wouldn't survive loosing Cookie, her Dad would drive her to do somethig stupid. She really needs the normalness & the stability (as little as it is) that she provides. IMO anyway & I feel the same with Merit/Mallory...

Also what did you think of the Biker angle? (view spoiler)[It felt like a forced way to have her and Donovan get all kissy face. I like Donovan, I have from the start. But, the bank robbing storyline, other than her Uncle working the case, felt out of place, IMO. Seemed to me like she was trying for a way to lay groundwork for them to get together in a future book. Reyes will go bat-shit crazy. He kept asking for her feelings about him following the kiss. Can't imagine what'll happen if it were to go further. Charley tried to play it off like "Aw, how cute, Reyes is jealous." But, he asked her, point-blank, if she was in love w/Donovan before they had sex.

"If you are [in love with him], you have to send me away. You'll have to do it. I'm strong enough to leave now. I'll not like with you if you love another."

She never answered him other than by not kicking him out. We 'hear' her: 'If I loved anyone in the universe, it was this man, this god who'd risked his life for me countless times. Who'd asked for nothing in return. Ever.'

But, I can see Charley hooking up with Donovan. She seems like a hormone-crazed teen sometimes - not thinking through the consequences of her actions. But, that's also part of what I love about her. She's so powerful, but seems so naive sometimes.
