Review: Another good shifter unbound read. This one takes us back to the Vegas shiftertown and the alpha Eric. This picks up almost a year after his sister Cassidy and Diego's story. Eric is still keeping tabs on Iona the half human half panther shifter who is coming into her mating frenzy and Eric is trying to stake his claim. He feels a little guilty because his mate died years earlier during Jace's birth and alot of the younger males have not found mates because of the female shortage. But he just cannot think of letting anyone else have Iona. She has also lived for thirty years as human hiding her shifter side and if caught, could bring the law down on her mother and sister for hiding what she is and being un-collared. Another twist is that the government has decided to combine the two Nevada shifter towns forcing Eric to bring in a couple hundred lupine shifters in his town without enough housing and an Alpha of their own that's waiting to challenge him for his alpha position. So we get a peek at Graham and his lupines and a possible mating. And lots of shifter luvin'... We also get to see what the crooked government is up to in experimenting on shifters and a surprise shifter that will be featured in the June 2013 release. Ggrrrrrrawr... He doesn't have a name yet, I'm thinking Quinn??

I really did. I'll admit after her Stormwalker series i had high expectations but thought the first one in the shifter series a little cheesy, but then they have just gotten better and better. The teaser for the next one was good too.

Review: Good world building, some intense and emotional moments, and a satisfying ending.
Ice is an incredible hero - honest, honorable and dignified. He is the personification of goodness which is all the more significant given the fact that he is one of the deprived and as such discriminated against as well as being considered mentally unstable.
Sabelle is a difficult heroine. She is caught between her growing feelings for Ice, on the one hand, and her duty toward her brother and magickind, on the other. Her actions are annoying at times, particularly her inability to trust Ice's obvious love for her. Thankfully, she comes to her senses before I wrote her off completely and is eventually worthy of Ice's devotion. Their romance is emotional and enjoyable.
The secondary characters are the most problematic aspect of the book. Bram is an elitist and manipulative jerk. His personal prejudice against Ice comes to a fore and had me questioning whether I would ever want to read a book with him as a hero - luckily he has a few installments to redeem himself. Lucan also comes across as selfish for much of the book but ultimately makes the right choice so I will forgive him for now.
The plot is action packed from start to finish with some interesting twists and turns, and the villain is as evil as ever.
It should be interesting to see how things develop in the next book.

In this 11th book of our beloved Vampire Executioner, we find Anita getting deeper involved in vampire politics than she ever waited. With Belle Morte in town Anita tries keeping control of something she usually lets have free reign…….her month. With the the ardeur running rampant all over her and others, Richard moodier than ever and rapist serial killer to boot Anita once again raise the occasion to kick ass and take names.
I enjoyed this book a lot. I liked seeing Asher getting to “find home” again. Even the undead need to be loved.

So I didn't love The Shadow Reader but I liked it enough to continue on with The Shattered Dark. I thought the series improved with this book, but it still left me unsatisfied. I still think McKenzie is a decent heroine and she acted much smarter in this book. I bought her relationship with Aren much more here than in the first book. The rebel's politics were explained more and it was shown that everything wasn't perfect once they took the castle. I liked all that but for some reason I just didn't connect emotionally with this book. It was interesting and I enjoyed reading it, but I just didn't feel feelings from it. It's probably just me and I see most readers that enjoyed the first one also enjoying this follow up.

Me too. I keep holding my breath and getting to the books that some people have felt the series starts to take a nose dive. But maybe I'm just really easy to please.

Things I loved about Sweet Dreams...
1. Tatum Jackson...ex-football player, ex-cop, badass tatooed bounty hunter, bar owner and sexy alpha biker. All I can say is YUMMY!
2.Lauren Grahame...funny, insecure, sweet, sometimes cranky, ocassionally bitchy, but most of all sweet and genuine. Her character was so easy to relate to.
3.I loved Buster the cat (a.k.a. Princess Fancy Pants) and Tate's son Jonas.
4.This book made me laugh out loud and tear up at times. I love a book that can take me through a whole gamut of emotions.
5.And of course the steamy romance between Tate and Lauren....sigh

I am dying for the new shelf announcement!

Review:
Eh, I have to say I was expecting more from this book. Everyone seems to LOVE this series and while I ADORED the "Shifters" series from Vincent, this series thus far has been luke-warm for me.
In this 2nd book of the series you have Kaylee, a bean sidhe (i.e. Banshee)and her boyfriend Nash, a male bean sidhe, along with NAsh's brother, Tod, a grim reaper, trying to save the souls of Tod's ex-girlfriend and her little sister after they sale their souls to be rich and famous.
The idea of the banshees I think is fantastic. It's something new that hasn't been over-done yet. However, it just hasn't sunk it's claws into me and made me want more and more.... Some things just didn't hit home for me. For example, Tod is very upset as he tries to save his ex-girlfriend from dying without a soul and living in eternal torment. Yes, okay, that would be awful IF I could believe how deep his love ran for her. I just didn't see that emotion. So it annoyed me that he was going through so much, including sacrificing Kaylee (who you can see he has a relationship with) to save this ex girlfriend. I just didn't see it. The whole story was just sort of silly to me and I couldn't get invested and had a hard time picking it back up. The characters all sort of annoy me. The only character I was rather interested in was "the oldest Reaper still reaping".... Libitina, "Libby" for short. She seemed pretty bad-ass but I didn't see much of her. Bummer. I'm sure at some point I'll read the next one in hopes of finally getting those claws stuck in me and hoping to see what so many other people see in this series.... but I won't be rushing to do so.

@Angie - I didn't really get into that series either. I thought it was okay but it didn't grab me.

I have to give five stars to any book that I finish in a day! I couldn't put it down! It had me looking over my shoulder as I read... how CREEPY! I LOVED it!! Loved the characters, loved the mystery, love(and of course hate!) that there is so much more that I don't know...what was Amelia's mom trying to say to her about her father?! Who are these "others"? What does that cop want from her? etc, etc, etc. A great read... I have moved the second one up to the top of my queue.
P.S. LOVED that I learned so much about graveyards... how interesting.

25% into Wicked Nights and nothing wicked or steamy yet.
10% into Mortal Ties and no Rule yet, WTH...
I'm having Demon shelf ADD, going to give Thin Air a spin.

Talon of the Morrigantes has live hundreds of years under the curse of very angry Celt god to never to find happiness, never to love, for all those he loves will die. Sunshine Runningwolf,a forgetful artist, looking for love in all the wrong places. Can the soul mates finally break the curse and live happily ever after or is Talon doomed to have the love of his live die in his arms again?
Book 3 in the Dark Hunter series. I love this book. The part where Sunshine feeds Talon the soy cheese is great.

Glad I changed books, this one was a keeper... Rhiannon is a smart mouthed bartender in a strip joint that is pretty rough around the edges. She soon discovers that she is a little more talented than just a ghost whisperer and attracts the attention of the vampires. The trendy drug of choice for the rich socialites of NYC is vampire blood, but someone is taking it a step further and Rhiannon is pulled into that world to help discover who is killing the members of several vampire families. I enjoyed the world building and Disco. Pretty big cliff hanger at the end, so I have the next two on hand to continue.

Review:
I liked this one much more than the second book. The switching POVs were better balanced and the story moved along at a much quicker pace.
Mal and Chrysabelle make a lot of progress in this book and I am glad the love triangle looks to be over. Bringing the Paradise City mayor into the story was interesting, and helped to add a human element since all of our main characters are othernaturals. Well, I guess Chrysabelle is human but she's at least enhanced.
The ending was pretty crazy and I am glad I have the ARC for Out for Blood ready to go. Though this series features a lot of familiar archetypes (vampires, fae, shifters), I love learning about Chrysabelle and the world of the Comarre.

I'm almost finished with the 2nd book in the Rhiannon's Law series and am going to try and squeeze the third in before the next shelf. I'd like to try to save and see if it will fit the next shelf, but I can feel another cliff hanger coming. Really glad I picked it up for this week's read.
