Review: A fun, romp of a read. I wavered between 3 and 4 stars; went to 4 because will be continuing the series. More chick-lit meets cozy mystery than paranormal with an "ordinary" chick stuck in DMV style civil service clerical job, here come the hotties and a mystery. Lots of one liners that in the right mood are funny but could be irritating if not in the mood. Likable characters. Very misleading cover. Paranormal came in in that some characters were demons, vampires, trolls, witches, etc. but not really at all plot essential. Heavy foreshadowing lost some luster for me as easily solved mysteries although heroine remained clueless—partly 'cause the hot guys knew stuff they did not let her in on which almost made me drop a star. Overall, I liked.

I can't imagine, once winning shelf called, there being a chance for another shelf needing to be called unless potential winning teams were way, way behind on winning row/column stamps and last minute lost multiple team members. some of the potential 4 in a row teams aren't in good shape with stamps looking at all the cards, but a whole lotta stamp requests going on this week. I suspect some people were waiting to see what stamps to focus reading on.
I asked last time, and there's no time-of-post overlap that would be considered a tie. That is, if two team captains posted a win within 30 seconds of each other or at exact same split second — whatever post goodreads puts first is the winning one. Last round was during all those over capacity error messages and I had visions of losing even if finished and was posting first but getting the dreaded "over capacity" message while another team posting made it thru. Did not matter since last shelf call was not a potential win for team I was on; but, during winning weekend it took me more than 30 minutes to get past the over-capacity messages. So glad (*knocks on wood*) not seeing "over capacity" all the time when I try to use goodreads.

My Review:
So many funny moments in this one despite the dire circumstances. There's a new group of strange supes that register as human in town. They're part of a gladiator style fight to the death tournament. They've almost killed Derek and no one can beat them at the games. Kate and company decide they need to put a stop to them before they overthrow the pack. This book also sheds some light on Kate's mysterious blood and lineage. Also I'm starting to love Andrea more in each book.

Can't wait for the next Kate Daniels book though. Sometime in 2013 (grumble, grumble).

Another fantastic book in this fantastic series, and my favourite so far! Rhiannon is up against a bunch of half-demons, and oh boy, if she isn't the scarier one. Besides an action packed, revenge filled storyline, there is a lot of heartbreak in this instalment that I have to admit I didn't see coming at all.

Anyway, my review will be up by tomorrow, Saturday at the latest.
@ I'm saving the third one in Rhiannon's Law. Do you know if the author plans on going on or is it a trilogy? Seeing as you've been pimping them out so diligently ;-) which I find very admirable by the way.

Until next shelf, I don't see any "strategy" for our card other than just keep reading. If "favorite series" is called, drop all reads to concentrate on that shelf.
Other than favorite series, shelf calls that get us 4-in-a-row without being a potential BINGO for another team are ghosts, dark fantasy and paranormal fantasy.
Anyone looking at our card see anything different?
BINGO game ending potential shelves to requote message 501 in BINGO discussion thread:
"...18 shelves left; 4 will be game ending. They are, Magic (4), Psychic (9), Sci-fi Romance (11), and YA Pnl (15); 22.2% chance of game ending with next call."

They all look geared up in case Saturday shelf is a potential winning one. *crosses fingers* hoping it isn't. Would be nice to be in the running ...

Series catch up shelf
What?! I didn't even understand where this book was going for over half of it. The plot just felt all over the place. Ridiculous!

SERIES CATCHUP (Personal Shelf

Jennifer: Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs, ★★★★★, 10/15/2012, here.
Stephanie: Definitely Dead by Charlaine Harris, ★★★✩✩ 2½ stars, 10/26/2012, here.

Jenne: 13 by Kelley Armstrong, ★★★★★, 10/15/2012, here.

I want favorite series, ghosts, dark fantasy or paranormal fantasy. (4 in a row for us, no BINGO for another team).
As expected, except for a couple of "demons" shelf stamps -- every team currently with a 4-in-a-row potential has gotten their 4-in-a-row ones stamped as of today just in case shelf called might give them a BINGO.
Wow, that was a lot of reading. Like the reading we should do if favorite series, ghosts, dark fantasy or paranormal fantasy gets called, *whip cracks*.

I really enjoyed You Slay Me by Katie MacAlister. It's the first of her books I could actually finish. Usually I find them a bit silly and not very funny at all.
This one though, this one was different. I giggled my way through it and I'll definitly be reading the entire series.
Things I liked in no particular order: Independent heroine, snarky demon, Drake Vireo, dragons and more dragons, set in France, lovely banter, shit just happens and heroine hasn't a clue, mate? what mate?, my-way-or-the-highway Drake Vireo. Yes, and the sex scenes were steamy.

Thanks Deb :-)

I have a new book in a favorite series downloaded from pre-order and a few bought for buddy reads and BOTMs I am itching to read and afraid to start in case fit a shelf....I don't wait well.

Blast! It isn't so still searching. My favorite series....I never made a favorite series shelf; really should have prior shelf call as none seem to be on it except ones already read. Possibilities: Magic Burns (not bought yet),The Angel Experiment (have), Some Girls Bite (was going to buy for November buddy read....hmmm), Spider's Bite (not bought yet), ...
Okay. Will do

Yes, I think so. Gives us 4 in a row and a mad race to BINGO if YA Paranormal called next. Demons only gives us 3 in a row.
Of course if demons book really engrossing and you are likely to finish this weekend, your judgment call.

Nope Deborah, it was right on time, definitely not 3 hours out. It was just after 6.30am Japan time.

I did not remember postings being that early; but, the time stamp on the posts sure looked like.

Time stamps can be all over the place, I know, I'm in Aust and some of them can be really whacky.

What page of favorite series shelf is that on? I had trouble finding.
Ooh, cool, not sure when they did but I just saw a "jump to page" option. That's going to be a godsend feature on smartphone apps. Now if mobile app group discussion would let you go to or sort by newest posts first...

Whip-cracking time! This week, we really need to get all reads up to date in case next Saturday's call is not a game ending one (because it will be a 4-in-a-row call for us and so many other teams that a race will get underway).
If it is a winning call for other teams, likely game over unless they all goof and cannot finish their shelf in two weeks (highly unlikely). At that point, well, it's been fun playing.
Otherwise — please, please hurry!
