For my FREE SPACE I'll read
. It's the book of the month for September. Is that ok? I mean we do start playing in September.
Your good Jennifer. Can be any book of the month while playing. I forgot to say mine was picked from the SOS goodreads book shelf.
I think on the free spaces, just remember to note how you picked when you make your mini-review. And I think I got all the free spaces noted back on team status plus all the votes so far.
I'm off to work and will check back in around 8pm Central time. Hope we can come to a vote by then. Can't wait to start.
Jennifer wrote: "For my FREE SPACE I'll read God Save the Queen. It's the book of the month for September. Is that ok? I actually read that one for a different group buddy read and wound up giving it an odd review.
Well, I am the most indecisive person I know, but after a lot of going back and forth, my vote goes to Triple Dog Dare Ya.And now onto the next decision: what to read for my free space? Will let you know as soon as I figured it out.
I like triple threat...Also, I will probably get my free space book from the bookshelf. I was looking, and there a lot of options *seeing how there are like 92 pages* I happen to own a few that are on there and just haven't read them yet.
Votes on Team Name:3 for Triple Threat (me, Stephanie, Jennifer)
3 for Triple Dog Dare Ya (Kerstin, Amber, Jenne)
Of course it's a tie! Anyone want to break by changing their vote? Or want to toss it out to random.org? Or come up with a hybrid "The Triple Dog Dare Ya Triple Threats" (not really coming together for me but maybe someone else can do better?)
Gee, that hybrid thing sounds mean and threatening. Separately they just sounded like we were raring to go and to win. Hmm..."The Team That Got Tied Up Trying To Choose A Name" ?("Tied Up" without having to ask the Home Depot guy what rope was the most comfortable...nope, not going there)
or "Team 3" or "The Team That Got Tied Up"
or some foreign language translations of "team 3" like "équipe de trois" [French] or "equipo de tres" [Spanish] or "チーム3" [Japanese] or "tîm o dri" [Welsh], "joukkue kolme" [Finnish], "fhoireann trí" [Irish], "Zespół trzy" [Polish], "echipă de trei" [Romanian]
--gee it's time for me to go to bed; the French "équipe de trois" sounding naughty to me. I think I've been hanging out on the wrong goodreads threads ... I'll check back probably in another 5 to 6 hours.
Feel free to vote and pass me right by if anyone changes their vote or comes up with something good y'all agree on.
Stephanie wrote: "Yeah...the french one does sound kind of naughty...Trouble with Tribbles."
Great. Now I like that one. And the song "TNT" running thru my head in between Star Trek theme and Atomic Dog's Nothing But The Dog In Me lyrics. BOW WOW WOW YIPEE YO YIPPE YAY...
Maybe an even number of team members not the best idea in event of a tie? I know, I'll make another list for the 5 of you to vote on, one final answer. I am not voting since am already captain. That way will not be a tie. So, one last vote for these options:
1 for Trouble With Tribbles (Stephanie)
0 for Triple Threat
0 for Triple Dog Dare Ya
0 for The Team That Got Tied Up
"a.k.a. équipe de trois" can be a private little attachment for all of the above if anyone got a chuckle over how that sounded.
4 more to cast one last FINAL vote
One last vote to decide (and I am deliberately being smart enough to not give 5 people 5 choices to tie it up again—anyone else see a potential tie or reason would not work?)
Oh, speak up Stephanie if you did not mean to vote but were just tossing something into the ring.
Oops, I guess two answers could get two votes each and create a 2-way tie again. If that happens, the "1" vote for a different answer gets to switch and break the tie with deciding vote.I am unplugging cell phone and pagers and actually going to bed. So sometime tomorrow thru weekend shelf announcement, our team name will have been decided :) I really like all of 'em at this point so will be perfectly happy with whichever wins. Note to self, way past time to redo the playlists on the iPad
At 3am my time, not sure I am making sense, but will go with whatever you guys decide.
Lol why not. Every time I think I am on team 3 and I try to come up with a T word....THAT...is what pops into my head.
I'm sticking with my original vote as well. Triple Dog Dare Ya it is for me!And I'm going to read
for my free space, which is on the group shelf.
@ Kerstin. I wish I could read that one again for the first time.@ Jenne. Damn, you're giving me new ideas.
So I'm officialy putting the mojo to Mr. Randomizer*you must call 2012 for the first shelf* he he he
TEAM NAME VOTES - CURRENTLY1 for Trouble With Tribbles (Stephanie)
1 for Triple Threat (Jennifer)
1 for Triple Dog Dare Ya (Kerstin)
1 for The Team That Got Tied Up (Jenne)
and 1 more to vote to actually decide the name!
So, whatever Amber wants, that's decided. Okay with everyone?
( If Amber cannot decide, we'll never know if she darted over to http://random.org and rolled 'em thru; I am seriously happy with any of them.)
Jenne wrote: "Sounds good! How ironic we went from a tie to now everyone has voted for a different one."*snicker* so glad this teams looks to be a fun, easygoing one despite all the time zone differences. Guess can put thumb screws away. (the rope was a joke; never bought or used....I mean the silk ties are just so much handier...and so unnecessary for my sluggish age group ;) )
At start of team thread I checked and think all the shelf lists match BINGO card and the spreadsheet showing all the cards—but if anyone is bored and can double check me I'd appreciate it.
Jennifer, I absolutely adore the IaD series! I'm trying to pace myself though, to be able to savour them for longer, lol.Daffodil, thanks for stopping by :) Happy reading to you too!
Deborah, I quickly looked over our BINGO card and the spread sheet and everything seems fine.
Yay, we'll soon have a name!
Sandra wrote: "No need to check for at least another 10 hours or so Deborah."Not true....has been posted even earlier than this. I'm headed into some meetings so wanted to make sure. Should be back out and checking about 5 hours from now.
I'm so excited. Obsessively checking every hour on the hour. Confusing myself with the time zones. I don't know what's what and I don't care :-)
I am in Barnes and Noble and just saw shelf...will choose mine and catchup everyone's postings in about aN hour.
I'm going to read Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews (a botm for another group this month anyway so works out nicely)
