A mess, a rather large one.

I'm new I'll grant that, so I am still wading about learning what is supposed to be done and not. I don't know how I'm stumbling on these messes. It started with these 2 books . From what I can tell these 2 books are the same book. I don't know if they are the same edition and such but the books are the same book. If I were at work it would be easy enough to double check the ISBN of them.

Now, I think the last one is another author who was mixed up with the first author(s). The last one should not be J. Mills but Jack Mills, a classification researcher. Who by the way did not write "Don't Lose Your Shoes!".

Agreed. Since one is a GR author and the other isn't (although the same person), you want to edit Liz Mills to be J. Elizabeth Mills. Since J. Elizabeth Mills is a GR author Rivka needs to merge these two - I put in the appropriate thread (GR Authors needing merging).

With the "Elizabeth Mills" profile you need to be careful because some of those are a different person. So you don't want to merge this profile because then the Suzuki book and a few others would be under the wrong author.

I agree that J. Mills has nothing to do with the above authors.

Unfortunately, every book under each author will need to be reviewed individually and then correctly attributed.

And not helpful when the "Data sources for this edition" continues to show the original source when someone renames an author profile.

Or maybe it is since that source can be checked to see the original value.
