Where are the specifics for how to choose books for shelves like new to you author and free space, etc
Adele the shelves with an * are personal shelves which means you can read any book that is over 200 pages and fits the criteria (eg. Is by an author you haven't read before - for the *New2You:Author).Free space is a little different. That one you can read at any time after the first shelf is called and you can pick a book from any of the new release threads on the group page or by clicking the Bookshelf link at the right hand side and reading any of those books. I know there is another option to pick from but I just can't think of it right now!
Does that make it any clearer?

Free space is one of three choices (1) any book off the SOS group bookshelves, (2) SOS group's book of the month (any month while game is in play), or (3) SOS current or archived new release threads (there's a thread explaining here ). You're supposed to post which option you used to choose when mini-reviewing book.

Our first shelf is getting closer and closer, HOORAY!While you're waiting, here is the SOS Book Shelf Bingo ROUND SIX Stats spreadsheet. It's an easy way to track teams' progress. Completed shelves for all the teams are marked on worksheet 1, and all the cards (and their progress) are on worksheet 2. If you spot anything that needs fixing, let us know!

Steph, what happens if not all the members of your team have checked in?
AH, you PM them. If they haven't checked in by shelf announcement time, we'll have a Mod discussion about it.

I am LOVING the team names this round!!
I will not be able to stay awake till 1.30am to check the shelf so I will have to check in the morning, unless the announcement time can be changed so that I also get the announcement on the same day as everybody else.I am in the UK so the time difference means I am asleep when you announce it late evening in US time. No worries though as I will check first thing in the morning about 6-7 hours after everybody else.
Adele, don't worry there are plenty of peeps in Europe who are playing. It is actually based on Sunday morning Japan time, so it would be impossible for everyone to get notified on the same day, as this is a world-wide game. No one expects you to stay awake just to find out what shelf it is, especially in the early rounds :D

I'm thinking it might just be better to watch a DVD. I'd be annoyed at myself if I started reading only to realise if I'd waited the book could have counted for bingo. Now it's just a question of what DVD lol :)
I'm trying to knock off some downloaded samples versus starting a new book waiting for shelf. My Ninja (really his name as has an oriental face and had to stop the family from calling him "N.G." for "new guy") has abandoned me because I opened a window:
