I love that anticipation feeling cancellation. We rarely get it in the Chicago area, but sometimes get the hope of a blizzard. :)

We rarely get snow days here in the Montreal area. Toronto calls out the army when they get a few centimeters of snow and we are going to work with 30 cm on the ground. Oh, the joy.
They don't close things in anticipation of bad weather in New England either. We get so much bad weather that stuff would be closed all the time.
Same here in Colorado...Only if there are a couple of feet do they start closing things down...Stinking slow plows are just too good here. Even a light dusting in some other states and the whole state goes down... Bleh! I am currently in the middle of 5 books. I guess I better finish those rather than looking for shelves... :) Or better yet sleep I just worked 13 hours and should probably get some zzz's before Mr. R decides to wake up. :)
Shelf! I am going to friend's who lives 30min away. I was hoping to listen to an audiobook that I could use for the next shelf.
With a little hot toddy porridge on the side to jolt you really awake ... http://www.bobsredmill.com/recipes.ph... which consistes of Zest of one Orange, OJ, oats, salt/pepper, dried cranberries and W-H-I-S-K-E-Y
Long week! Finally finished my book and need a new one...shelf shelf! shelf! shelF! sheLF! shELF! sHELF! SHELF! SHELF!! SHELF!!!
Well girls, the typhoon has reeked havoc on Okinawa so Steph & about 250,000 others no longer have power. Luckily she slipped Mr R's address to us other Mods before she went down with the island. She's fine by the way just powerless. LOL.So, new shelf -
Shelf #3 ~ 9/30/12: 'urban-fantasy'
DIRECT LINK: urban-fantasy
Yay for shelf, but too bad that Steph is out of power. I hope she has a ton of books to read while she's down. Thanks for posting the shelf Sandra!
Sandra wrote: "No problem Paris, enjoy picking a book from such a monster shelf."Yeah I already have a problem making a final decision each week. I'm sure this won't be any easier, even if I've already read a ton of the books on the first ten pages of the shelf. lol
I am glad to hear she is doing ok. Other than having no power that is... You all are being very bingo card calling orderly for Team #9 you know. The first three shelves have been for B1, B2, and B3.
Nope, she's running low. They are officially allowed out of the house now and she's hoping she can find somewhere to recharge.
We have gotten hit by these as well, only a week later. I only lost power for a couple of days, but phone and internet for 4-5 days. I was very happy to have my old fashioned kindle that holds a charge for a week or two and still allows a 3 G connect with a primitive browser. Of course, having lots of cell towers blow down didn't help that.Take care Steph and be careful not to blow to Alaska, where it SNOWED REALLY EARLY YESTERDAY!!! Gone now.
Keep warm, Deidre. Steph, glad to hear that you are allowed out now. Hope there wasn't too much damage.
I saw some of pictures of Alaska's first snowfall of the season from a friend who lives there. Very pretty but glad it was him not me, lol.
Snow! Wow...still OK wearing a tank top, not sure I want to think about winter coming! But, I guess you must be used to that, Deidre! Glad it's not sticking yet though!
Hi everyone! Audrey from Team #1 hasn't checked in for 9 days I have messaged her but she hasn't got back to me yet. What do I do?

Glad it's not sticking yet though!"I am NOT used to this. It is too early! Especially on top of last winter, where we had record snow and this summer where we had record bad summer. We were hoping for a normal fall from Sept to Oct, but noooo, instead we had monsoons. I was in my neighbor's house yesterday, in her daughter's bedroom to see the new paint job, and discovered my roof had missing shingles, on that side (can't normally see it). Great, great, great. At least the paint was pretty cool, deep orange, which really lights up the darkness of winter.

She seemed really excited about this bingo round so thats why I waited to message her but still no word :(
I got a message back from Audrey and she asked that since she has a lot going on just now she is going to bow out. Is it okay for Team #1 to go on with 5 players?
I think there's a list of alternates that will step in. Moderators likely pm'ing them before responding.

Is it okay for Team #1 to go on with 5 players?"Carlyn, we're checking around. I don't think there are any more stand-bys, though if anyone knows someone who is interested, do let us know. We'll get back to you about that, but regardless, your team is still in. Hope you're enjoying your reads this week!

I'll step up, if no one else can/will.
Sandra wrote: "Yay Christina!! Just pop in to Team #1 and introduce yourself."
Will do -- I guess I'll need to read all the shelves she didn't complete, right?
Yep, sorry about that. Check to see what you've read since each shelf was called and you might have some that already fit :)
Sandra wrote: "Yep, sorry about that. Check to see what you've read since each shelf was called and you might have some that already fit :)"I'll check. :) I keep track of my start and end dates, so it shouldn't be too difficult.
Steph wrote: "Thank you, Christina! :D I'll add you to the team member list."
Thanks, Steph. Glad I could help! :)

*Regina, am enjoying! Am especially enjoying the typhoon headed our way because EVERYTHING is canceled tomorrow...that means as soon as Mr. R drops by, I can hunt, read and drink coffee! No drop-offs and pick-ups and run to the stores! Finished that all today!*
**Must add, typhoons are not a recommended way of sneaking in a day off. They can be hazardous to everyone's health, and the electricity supply. Stock up on paperbacks today or you may be sorry tomorrow!**
I almost don't want to go to sleep and waste a glorious moment of this waiting time (do have a book I'm enjoying immensely and wanting to finish BEFORE the shelf....
