D.G. | 2752 comments You're good, Daffodil. I haven't even picked my free space book let alone read it.

Shelf!

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments OUCH!, Paris, my dear. Earaches are the worst! Feel better soon.

Daffodil, did you mention red velvet brownie cheesecake bars? YUM!

Our next shelf announcement is up ~ 'Favorite Author'. This is a personal shelf. Any book (200+ pgs) written by one of your favorite authors is allowed. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Happy Reading, Everyone! :)

Paris (pah13) | 1183 comments Thanks Steph! and thanks for posting the shelf. Reading will have to distract me.

Although I do have a question...I know we normally try to steer clear of re-reads, but with a shelf like this are re-reads okay?

message 254: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wss4) Quick question. I do not label my Goodreads shelves as anything other than TBR, currently reading, etc. So when I choose my read for this week 'Favorite Author' I am hoping that I can just pick a book of one of my favorite authors, even if it is not labeled as such?

You can pick any favorite author. There's no need to have a label. :)

Updated to add: I realize that might be a bit confusing. If you don't tag your books -- that's okay. I don't either, so if I was playing I would just pick which ever of my favorite authors I was in the mood to read. :)

message 256: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wss4) Thank you Christina.

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Wendy wrote: "Thank you Christina."

You're welcome!

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Christina's exactly right. There is no need to tag or shelve the book you choose as anything other than 'currently reading'. :) If it's a book by one of your favorite authors it's allowed. Re-reads are allowed.

Mandy Beyers (mandybeyers) | 346 comments If I want to read an anthology, is that okay? One of the authors is the favorite but I would read the whole book.

Sandra | 25908 comments Yes, as long as you read the whole book, that's fine Mandy :)

Deidre (AlaskaReader) | 267 comments Hey all, I was going to sit this one out, but someone had to quit in team 6 before she could even read a book. So Steph dragged me out of my cave.

Just so you all know, team 6 in the 6th SOS Bingo already has two in a row, so sorry Paris, this time it has to be Six Sirens to the finish!

message 263: by Deidre (new)

Deidre (AlaskaReader) | 267 comments Has anyone made up the Bingo sheet showing all the teams like last time? I tried my hand at it but Excel is not my forte.

message 264: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome to the round Deidre. Good luck to Six Sirens

Dang it. I hope I wasn't the jinx for our team last time cause this time my team doesn't have 2 in a row yet. Grr. lol

Good luck Deidre! Glad you're playing again!

At least my team isn't alone. Teams 8 and 12 don't have two in a row on theirs either. But my team is kicking some reading butt.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 2179 comments Hey, team 16, once all read and stamps requested has 3 in a row so I'm not really upset about the 2-in-a-row'ers!

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments Team 14 also has 2 sets of 2 in a row.

Judithe | 6566 comments It's going to hit most of the country (Japan), in fact. Project for tomorrow...tie up everything that could blow away! Already have enough books on hand though, just in case!

But no worries, even if the Japan side is out, (knock on wood), Australia is pretty quiet.

message 278: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Yikes!! That seems to be a lot this season, or is this amount normal?

message 279: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments It's still Hurricane/Typhoon season until the end of November.

That won't be happening, as Judithe said either she or I will post if Steph can't.

The Assassin's curse - Fast read and lots of fun.

Oh, funny story. My teenage boys were being very quiet so I checked up on them. They were in Kid2's room sprawled out on the bed with Kid3 reading a book out loud to Kid 2. Kid3 says - "It's the only way he understands books." Homemade audio books.

message 300: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Nice. :) That is very sweet.
