Christopher Paolini (INHERITANCE CYCLE series) discussion
    This sucks

Yea I didn't whatch the whole movie either so it did not contaminate my head with different images of things I already had in my mind...only a few movies have not changed what i thought about originaly...though only one comes to mind for me The Lion The Whitch and the Wardrobe movie(the more modern one was vearry close to what I had in my head...all of the children looked exactly right,Mr.Tumnus and the Beavers and such as wellany way thats the only movie I think has been well done bassed on a book i have read.
Katherine--what about the Lord of the Rings trilogy? If you haven't read that yet, you really really really need to! You will appreciate how well the movies were done, and the characters were definitely cast right.Correct that the movie Eragon was very disappointing. The chick playing Arya looked NOTHING like I thought she was supposed to look like. Am I totally wrong in thinking that Arya in the book has dark hair?
Stinkin' screenplay adapters made her look like some (forgive the term) Indian princess. Definitely not elf.Katie, you think the beginning of the LotR books was too long, don't pick up The Silmarillion. It was painfully slow but things made a lot more sense about Middle Earth history after I got through it.
Kathy--yea I both read and whatched the lord of the rings trilogy, with a few annoying things it was also a vearry well made movie as well!Katie, are you talking about to mush shire in the book or movie?
Katie wrote: "I've never heard of that book. Is it by J.R.R.Tolkien? Does it have a plot?"The Silmarillion is a Tolkien book, but it was published posthumously by his son, Christopher. It is some part geneology, some part legends/tales, and some part history. I didn't really think it had a ton of plot until the 2nd half of the book. However, when elves are mentioned in passing from when the ring was forged and the last battle was fought, what the elves mean by sailing "into the West," and some of the other obscure references, this book puts it all together.
Anyway, I hope they don't butcher Eldest like they did Eragon. I will pay my cash and probably go see it in the theater on 2nd run or something. So what else was horrible about the movies when compared to the books?
UNLESS....they do a remake of the Eragon so they can do a second and a third and a fourth movie.
But what are the chances that they want to do that? I'm not sure that Eragon did very well in the theaters did it?
Is it me, or there is too many KAT in here (hehehe).Back to the topic.
I did watch the movie (eragon) many times, my nephew (babysit)plays it over and over again. Its like Dora or spongebob just an hour and a half long.
I love LOTR though. I have the uncut copy in my comp.
the big difference between LOTR ang eragon is the BUDGET. big budget lots of effects, great script, Good actors, with big budget, I dont mind watching eragon again even if it takes 3 hours long.
There is an opening for a sequel, and my understanding is that contracts were signed for movie rights to the entire Inheritance cycle (ok, at least 3) before Eragon came out. Whether they actually make Eldest is yet to be seen. I have seen some renegade trailers on You Tube, so the movie might already be made, but the economy sucks so bad that they won't release it just yet. If they're smart they release about the time that the 4th Inheritance book comes out.

The movie did great on the box office. It also made top 16 highest grossing film for fantasy. It is the review that is bad (almost all reviews are bad).
Its like Twilight, and yet they are making a sequel.
The book is more elaborate. the book has many bad reviews, even Stephen King criticize it. Now its up to you if you'll be reading the book first, bec if yes, you'll have Rob Pattinson playing as edward. *hahahah*
Wow, you have an updated library. Books here (school or public library) are older than me. that how deprive we are. (T . T)

Ohhhh!yea the guy Eragon...or was it Arya?
yea I remember he was and elf with all the little figurines or something in his house/tower
Interesting... More revealed about the person that is Angela. That woman is cloaked in so many layers you could call her an onion.

Tenga is human. I just wish eragon could turn to full human too. It make it look like human as riders are weak, except if you have tons of eldunari.

Angela or tenga may have a potion that slows aging. It has been discussed in the book, using magic to immortalized oneself or others is dangerous. In humans, only the body is immortalized but not the mind or brain. You can immortalize the mind but you have to erase all memory of it, which make no sense since you'll be a diff. person then.

@ katiean old man can be turned to its teen, but the mind will remain to be of the old man.
You can be turned to a child but your memory will be lost. (which does not make you immortal since youll be a different person again)
Yes it can be done, in Alegasia. but no one is practicing it since the negative effect is worse than the positive one.

eragon is fully human. his form right now is the complete form of a human rider. the elves magic just sped up the process.

Harpoon wrote: "I did not like the movie eragon (poorly done). but because I watched it, every time I read the book or when I read brisngr, the characters that played in the movie keeps popping in my imagination. ..."
the characters were all so ugly
