Désirée question

My Mom recommended this book to my book club. We read it a few years ago and really liked it. Desiree is an interesting woman and she is what makes this book very interesting to read. Desiree is a woman of character in Paris when she is from another country. She married Napoleon and becomes a queen one day. This story has parts that are based on history. Whether you will like it or not is up to you. I would read it again if I had the book. Enjoy.

If you like historical romance, you will like this book. I read it for the first time when I was in high school. My copy has been read and re-read many times. When the librarian at my school was removing their copy from the shelves, she was kind enough to give it to me.

Basically, it is about a young Frenchwoman who marries Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte who eventually became the King of Sweden. Great love story. Covers the time from the early years of the French Revolution through the rise and fall of Napoleon. As I used to tell my students: give it the 50 page test. If it hasn't grabbed you by then, it probably won't. Enjoy.
