TOO MANY BOOKS IN THIS SERIES.

Ok, so I started reading this series, and it was really good. But there are 10 of them. Around Book 8 I started getting bored, because the characters didn't change much, there was no definite plot like in the first four, and the dialogue is like something out of a cheesy movie. Every chapter is ended in dumb quotes like: "Are you only now figuring that out?" or "My name is Halt and we're going to have a chat." I am on book 9 now, and I just want to get the series out of the way.
WHO AGREES WITH ME?

I liked that it was a long series. I can see how some people would get bored with it, but I think I liked how... familiar these were. I fell in love with the first three, then ended up loving the other ones, but fo different reasons. I knew each character like the back of my hand. When the 10th one came, I was sad that the series ended. It was like losing all those friends.

Lexie Agree with you, but there are now 11 books. The last is short stories. He is writing a twelfth- The Royal Ranger- which comes out in October 2013.

Nope I disagree I felt that it was a well written series and it could've gone for much longer.... But maybe that's because I read books for the characters not the plot:)

You're right there. they are to long.. but they are meant for a pretty young audience, and not really a series to delve into.. it's an okay read as long as you don't expect too much..

I was so sad when the series ended. It was one of my favorite. It could never be too long. EVER! So yes, I think you are wrong there. And actually, there are 11 books, the last being The Lost Stories, which is a book of short stories. Flanagan is now writing Book 12- The Royal Ranger, so you may have to read even more. I am so Happy!

deleted user YES! I agree with you. I love this series. And I don't EVER remember halt saying "My name is Halt and we're going to have a chat." Don't make fun of H ...more

Its good as a long series, plus it is actually short compared to many books. This is the kind of series you can really love and like ho there is a lot of it.

Some of the books toward the end of the series got very boring. I love Flanagan's characters, but character isn't enough when the plot drags. I hope his next book will be better.

I like how Flanagan made 10 books then you have the stories with the sad part at t he end then he's all like bam! 12th and final book

Well its over anyways so any debates on whether or not he should of had that many books or not are rather academic now.

This is and still is an awesome series.

I wish there there were more.

I agree completely! It says in the author's notes that he wrote this series to encourage his son to read, but by now, I am sure he has, along with many other young people... But he just keeps on writing!!!
I thought the series would end when Will became a proper ranger, becuase it was such a crucial moment in the series, but it didn't! I really do find myself getting bored when I open these books now, since it's just been dragged on this far.
