I'm sorry may i ask whats wrong with this page that you don't want to "view it". To be quite honest I just recently made a goodreads account and I don't really know how to use this website, i'm still trying to get used to it, i don't know why you are being so rude. I just wanted to people to contribute and write our own fan fiction about lily and severus, its a really fun activity! :)

I see, well it was never my intention to appear as rude. Let's just say I'm not exactly a fan of this and would very much prefer it if it was moved elsewhere so discussions about the book can be separated from those which aren't.
Just stop being a twit! There are so many things that are not about the DH On this! She can do this if she wants. You are not the GR Owner so you can get over it!

He grabbed a leaf from the nearby oak and showed it to me. His palm closed and when he opened it again, it was an exquisite, leafy green butterfly. It fluttered its way through the thick collection of flowers around us. I grinned and he nodded.
"Shall I explain?" He asked.
"Please do." I grinned, as did he. The smile looked odd on his face, almost as if he hadn't smiled in years, having nothing to smile about. Sympathy swelled inside me but, judging by the steely, strong look in his eyes, he just wanted a friend; someone non-judgmental.
"You," he said pointing his hand at me "are a witch." A stunned silence followed.
"A witch? This stuff I can do... is... magic?" He nodded. He gestured in the relative direction that Petunia had disappeared to "she's just jealous, you're special and she only wishes she was."
"But this is the kind of thing you read about, it's just not real..." I trailed off and looked at the grass.
"It is, and there's a school specially built for people- witches and wizards- like you and me."
"How much do you know?"
"Not heaps, but enough so that it's not shocking when I get my letter." I stared, confused at him.
"Letter?"
"Yeah, from Hogwarts, the wizarding school. We go there to learn and control our magic," he said. "They send out a letter to every young witch and wizard around and we go and learn." I really couldn't believe it. Me, a witch? A sudden thought strikes me.
"Is Petunia playing a trick on me?" His expression of total disbelief assured me that she most certainly was not.
"No. How else do you think you can do all this?" I had no answer. Shrugging my shoulders and letting the fact that i was a witch settle in, i sat down and picked at the wild flowers about the ancient oak.

We spent the whole afternoon talking about the wizarding world he told me everything he knew, it was so interesting i couldn't break away from him it was all so fascinating. after that day we became great friends everyday about that same time we met and talked about everything, i always invited Petunia to come but she called us freaks and ran away.
"I know this is all new for you but once you get your letter of acceptance to Hogwarts you know that what i'm telling you is the truth."

One day when I was talking to the boy (who was called Severus) I told him about this."Petunia says we're freaks. And I haven't gotten my letter yet. What if we're both just crazy?" I said.
"Don't worry. It will come any day now. She just wishes she were like us," said Severus.
We sat in silence for a moment.
"Severus, Petunia is always trying to avoid me. It seems like she hates me. What do I do?" I said.
"She's just jelous, don't worry about her," he said. "She wants to be special too. But she's just a Muggle."
"What did you just call my sister?" I said, jumping up, angry now.
I am certainly not trying to be rude, and you are absolutely able to do anything you want here, but I kind of understand what Hina is saying. I am reading through discussions about the Harry Potter books and I find someone wanting to do a group fanfic instead of talking about the books. There are lots of places for fanfics, I just figured this site was to discuss the actual literature, not write or re-write what we thought should have been included in the book but was left out on purpose by the author. That is what sites like Pottermore and other actual fanfic sites are for. Again, I hope you arent offended because that is not my goal, I am just stating an opinion. Carry on :-)

There are so many areas of the GR site, including a 'group' option that allows people interested in doing things like this or starting book clubs or stipulating the parameters of their discussions to do their own thing. This particular section is for discussions about the books, what was liked/disliked, character comparison, etc. I agree with Hina that this may not be the best or most appropriate place for a developing fanfic. Some people hate fanfics, preferring to keep the integrity of the original story intact, and don't want to get conflicting information about what actually happened in the book and what people think should have happened so they write about it as though that is what actually happened. It is effing confusing. Also name calling and being rude to someone- not the most effective way to display any level of maturity.

Absolutely! Some people really love fanfic and they should be able to do it if they want to, and there certainly aren't any rules against doing it on the discussion page.

Hello there Anita! I am new here too, I've only been using this website for a month or so. I've recently discovered a love for Severus and Lily fics too, especially the interesting ones. I found a few I could link you, if you haven't already found any others.

This one is called Ananke, and so far it is my favorite. There is theme in the fandom of Sev getting a second chance and being able to go back, but this one is very different =)

Okay, thank you! And you should finish your books! I know what you mean when you say 'you don't finish them' because i do the same, but for the last couple of years, (Yeah. I said years. i didn't feel comfortable with my writing and stopped for abotu a year. but once i saw a lot of others' writing i decided to continue!) i have stuck to one book, and always have some pen and paper i can use if i have ideas for other stories!

I understand that and appreciate your apology, I probably jumped on you more aggressively than I meant to. I'm sorry for that. I get a little jumped up sometimes when I get talking about some of my favorite books and have noticed that an earnest conversation can quickly turn nasty if not careful.
Wow, just re-read my comments, I got a lot jumped up. Sorry everyone, I didn't mean to be disrespectful about fanfics in general and I hope that I didn't offend anyone too badly. Writing is writing is writing, no matter what form. Just because I don't enjoy reading a type of writing does not mean that it isn't a valid form of creativity.

"Sev!" I called to the boy in the black robes. He turned, flourishing a parchment enevelope identical to mine, as I raced to him.
"Yours arrived too!" I gasped excitedly as i came to a stop. I was almost shaking with excitement.
"My parents don't even know!" He smiled that odd, unusual smile and rolled his eyes.
"Well, are you going to open it?"
"Together?"
"Together." We poised our hands at the opening to the enevelopes. Slowly, carefully, I picked at the coat of arms stamp sealing it, as did Severus. At the same time, we both peeled the tops back and pulled out the thick parchment contents. We plopped onto the ground and explored our acceptance letters and lists.
"An owl, a cat or a toad?" I asked Severus. "What would I need them for?"
"Well, the owls are for posting letters... and i honestly don't know what the toad's for, the cat... i guess, a familiar face?" I imagined trying to get our disdainful cat, Rouge, into a carry cage and bringing him to a school of 'witchcraft and wizardry'. I'd pay for that big time, and Petunia would've killed me.
"An owl sounds cool," I said. But Severus wasn't looking at his letter, rather looking, pale-faced and worried, at a dark shape that was approaching us.

I stepped back from the raging man and all I could see was red. Severus was cowering as his father attempted to drag him away, growling and threatening. Tears built up in my eyes and my cheeks grew hot.
"STOP!"
Mr Snape froze and glared at me. Staring daggers, he came right up close, I could smell the dense scent of liquor on his putrid breath.
"Don't you tell me what to do you-" some kind of force pushed him back and he collapsed in a scowling heap. It was a moment before I realized the odd feeling of energy surging within me. Stronger than the daisies. The unbalanced man pulled out a carved wooden stick from his back pocket. It was a wand, dark and chipped.
"You hideous Mudblood!" he yelled before aiming the wand at me, some incantation playing on his lips.
"Father, no!" Severus ran at the man, bowling him over.
"Run, Lily! Go!" He screamed at me. Without a second thought, I did. I ran. I ran all the way down the road, past the shops and gardens before I stopped outside my house and raced in.
"Lily!" My mother gasped as i flew into the living room. She was making something for Petunia, who was having fabric pinned to her. I held up the thick enevelope, not wanting to talk about Severus, whom my mother is unaware exists, let alone his father's assault. My mother dropped the box of pins she was holding and grabbed the letter, her expression unreadable. Petunia stood scowling at me atop her stool.
"Mother?" I asked. But she was beyond listening, ogling at the letter in wonder. She suddenly raced upstairs. Petunia and I could hear the cupboard open and close, then there was a shuffling of papers.
"You're a freak," Petunia whispered suddenly. I was in a moment of shocked silence. Mother padded back down the staircase right then with an identical enevelope. Though it looked older and the writing was black rather than emerald, in a different hand.
She was positively beaming.
"Lily, your great-grandmother..."
"STOP!"

"Run, Lily! Go!" He screamed at me. Without a second thought, I did. I ran. I ran all the way down the road, past the shops and gardens before I stopped outside my house and raced in.
"Lily!" My mother gasped as i flew into the living room. She was making something for Petunia, who was having fabric pinned to her. I held up the thick enevelope, not wanting to talk about Severus, whom my mother is unaware exists, let alone his father's assault. My mother dropped the box of pins she was holding and grabbed the letter, her expression unreadable. Petunia stood scowling at me atop her stool.
"Mother?" I asked. But she was beyond listening, ogling at the letter in wonder. She suddenly raced upstairs. Petunia and I could hear the cupboard open and close, then there was a shuffling of papers.
"You're a freak," Petunia whispered suddenly. I was in a moment of shocked silence. Mother padded back down the staircase right then with an identical enevelope. Though it looked older and the writing was black rather than emerald, in a different hand.
She was positively beaming.
"Lily, your great-grandmother..."

Then I packed my things in a suitcase and went into Diagon Ally.At the wand shop I saw Severus.

Severus managed a weak smile, "I'm okay."I was furious, "No! Your not okay! Your dad did this to you?" He looked down at his feet. I couldn't believe a father would act this way to his son.

A torn look shadowed his bruised face. He took a deep breath.
"Yes," he said, hiding his eyes. "It was because of you." My shoulders slumped and I brushed my red hair from my eyes.
"Does that mean..." I started, he looked up. "Does that mean we can't be friends?" I finished in a shaky voice. His expression abruptly changed from fearful sadness to raw determination.
"No," he said with such assertiveness that a lion wouldn't have dared disagree. "I can choose my friends..." the last part was a muttered afterthought, almost internal conflict. He shook his head and changed the subject.
"Have you got your books?"
"Yeah, all but the... er, Dark Defence?" I say uncertainly. He smiles that small, rare smile.
"Defence against the Dark Arts." His eyes lit up at the very mention of the subject. What are the Dark Arts? I asked myself.
We headed to a store entitled 'Flourish and Blotts'. It was an odd name but it had so many books on so many subjects that I'd never even heard of that I forgot about the name in a matter of seconds. I picked up a book about something called Transfiguration, called 'From Pencil to Python' by Julio Laquedar. An old man with a large, toothy grin beamed from the cover. I was startled to find that the man often waved and changed expressions. At one point he actually LEFT the cover!
"Have you seen this-?" I looked around for Severus but he was gone.
"Sev?"
"Over here!" I heard from the back of the shop. I started down the long wooden isles toward the back of the shop. The rows got steadily darker and more ominous as I neared Severus. The skeeves crawled up my spine, an unwanted, tingly presence. There were mumbling rasps coming from no visible mouths, I had only to assume it was the books themselves that were talking. I shivered but was reassured when I caught up to Severus. He was steadily uttering soothing words to a very red, very irate looking book. It growled and snarled but he soothed it eventually.
"How did you know to do that?" I asked in amazement.
"Well... most unhappy things just need some kind of... happiness..." He said somberly. His statement suggested something beyond merely words. He brightened and said;
"It was also on the back cover." I laughed but couldn't shake off the feeling that there was some unspoken meaning behind his words.
We purchased our books and went to a place called 'Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour' and licked away at exotically topped, bulging ice-creams.

Out of nowhere a young boy about our age comes wearing unusual robes that I've never seen anyone wear before. They seemed a little big for him. Petunia seemed really scared and then she started running back home. I was all alone with him i was completely shocked and i didn't know what to say.
