Whenever people talk about crap like that I just zone out. I'm REALLY good at that. Comes in handy when you're trying to read in the corner at huge parties or in a noisy cafeteria. :3

Jocelyn (joc113) | 1326 comments Mod
Oh, yeah, I zoned out mega, but my problem was this: if I hadn't been forced to go to brunch with them, I would have had a quiet snacky thing with my mother and read my book for the rest of the time. Which was the main reason it was so tortuous.

I was thinking of Sep, and Jen, and Si, and Marcia, and Marcellus, and Beetle, and Nicko...

Mel | 956 comments Those are some epic names there...

message 457: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1053 comments I am totally winning, because of these reasons:

Okay, so you know how in stories and books and stuff, there's this distant relative that never associates themselves with their family, never goes to gatherings or writes or anything, and then all of a sudden, they send the main character a box of old mystical artifacts that usually starts them off on some sort of amazing magical quest? Well, my great-aunt, Nancy, she's never visited or anything, and has pretty much never bothered to make contact with my family at all in years. And all of a sudden, just an hour ago, we got this box of a bunch of stuff she sent us. There were beautiful old necklaces and pictures of sunsets she took from Arizona and there were books, eleven or twelve beautiful old books, the kind with crumpled yellowing pages that have obviously been neglected for some time. And I saw the books and I kind of experienced love at first sight, for the first time ever, and even though I don't have any room on my bookshelf I'm going to clear all the extra stuff out and make room for them.

Sorry, that was really long. But I'm pretty excited. XD

How do you mean?

message 460: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1053 comments There is officially more room on my bookshelf!!! I found a different place to put some of my older books, and I'm proud to say that there is still room for even more books. I can't start on my great-aunt's books until I'm done with the book I'm reading now, but I'm pretty sure I just fell in love with them. First time I've loved a book without reading at least the first chapter... XD

Fran (franswims) | 778 comments I am offically a two time state champion in crime busters. I literally couldn't of imagined a better past like two weeks. There are legit no words. Everytime I start to complain I think, "But I went to Disney so it's okay." like Aladdin told me my eyes were really pretty. And I had Rapunzel call my sister for her birthday and she was like how'd you get her in that box?! Ahhhhhhhhhhh I think that nobody else should comment because I win forlikeever.

message 470: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1053 comments Poor LLT!!! This will never beat Frances, but I just finished a 5k, and so I'm winning in my own small little way. XD

message 471: by LiveLoveTumble (new)

LiveLoveTumble | 350 comments Well I lost my kip (which I worked for almost 2 years to get and was soooo close to having for a year) and found out that in 2 weeks the best coach I've ever had is leaving.

message 472: by Fran (new)

Fran (franswims) | 778 comments I'm not going to pretend I know what a kip is but losing a coach is terrible. I hate that, when you've worked with someone for a really long time and that's who you're comfortable with and then they leave. :(

@Ducky, which part?

We had a tournament today for softball and we lost both our games :( I struck out their four hitter who had hit a home run off of another (better) pitcher so yay!

message 473: by LiveLoveTumble (new)

LiveLoveTumble | 350 comments I couldn't find a video of just a kip alone, so in case this doesn't work the way I want it too, the part you should see is from 2:17 on.

message 474: by LiveLoveTumble (new)

LiveLoveTumble | 350 comments Doesn't look too hard, but most coaches say it is the hardest skill to learn in gymnastics. Not the most advanced, but the learning process is the most time consuming and difficult, combined with the fact that it is the first skill for most gymnasts that takes a long time to get. And apparently Gabby Douglas wrote a whole chapter about it in her book, so that should give you some idea about how hard it is...

message 475: by Fran (new)

Fran (franswims) | 778 comments There's so many things that could go wrong while doing that so it makes sense it's so hard. I hope you can get it back!!

message 476: by LiveLoveTumble (new)

LiveLoveTumble | 350 comments Yup me too! It's all about the timing which makes it so hard. My mom says it's just a mental thing though and it was probably just because I was still shocked and upset about my coach, so hopefully it will be back next week.

message 477: by Jocelyn (new)

Jocelyn (joc113) | 1326 comments Mod
@Frances: All of it! It sounds awesome!

message 478: by Jocelyn (new)

Jocelyn (joc113) | 1326 comments Mod
I bet you'll get it back. It does seem like something that isn't so hard physically, but much more difficult mentally.

message 479: by LiveLoveTumble (last edited May 13, 2013 06:43PM) (new)

LiveLoveTumble | 350 comments Yeah, I'm not too worried about the kip right now. This week is just dragging on though... I haven't really been able to get my coach out of my mind...
