ToBeas_KaTris | 63 comments Everywhere, when I have my book with me and I got the chance, I think. But mostly on the bed or in my room. I don't listen to anything or eat something when I read.

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 374 comments Due to kids, jobs, family- I can make ANYWHERE a reading environment. Stopped at red lights in my car- grab the Kindle and read; in the waiting room of Dr. offices and occupational therapy for my son; kids running amok and cartoons blaring in the background; walking from my desk to another office at work... I learned to make due with whatever life gives me in where I can read.

LOL -- the digital readers have us addicted, i'm never without mine. I thought I was the only one that read at red lights.

Tammy ~Witching Hour Reads~ (03tammy-lynn) | 1434 comments I tend to do most of my reading in a hot bubble bath. :)

message 7: by Scribble (new)

Scribble De Dibble (scribbledoutname) | 2 comments I can read anywhere :P As long as it's comfortably, I slip away quite quickly. I don't even need it to be quiet. Unless people are screaming in my ear I can usually block everything out.

But if I had to pick, I'd say on my bed or on my couch.

message 8: by Duks (new)

Duks (cnduks_) | 1836 comments My bed, or somewhere close to some fresh air. Lately, thanks California weather, been reading outside w/ some cool breeze!

message 10: by Christy (new)

Christy Stewart My favorite places to read are in bed, in the cafe at the bookstore, or at Starbucks. That being said, I will read anywhere I get the chance. I am not good at reading at red lights and that sort of thing.

message 11: by Prinietha (new)

Prinietha | 10 comments Red lights huh... Cool! Livin life on the wild side.. ;)

message 12: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline I read anywhere that is quiet, so usually in a library, in my room or on my couch. I never have the television on when I'm reading. Also, I read while eating pickles and like having blankets.

message 13: by An (new)

An Outside, in a cafe..

message 14: by w :) (new)

Amy (DemonKittie) (demonkittie) | 502 comments I can read anywhere it is quiet, but I prefer my bed. Sometimes I listen to my iPod.

message 16: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 223 comments I get up an hour early for a little alone time from the kids and just life. I get a cup of coffee and I will read for about an hour and it is heaven!

message 17: by Debs (new)

Debs (whatdebsreads) Prefer reading on my bed most nights just before going to bed. SOmetimes in the office too on very slow days. Always make sure to have my ipad with me

message 18: by Brie (new)

Brie (brielikestoread) I've always had a habit of being a night owl so I love reading at night when it's cool, quiet and dark (I read by a lamb or ereader)

Then some instrumental music or maybe the tv on low volume.

message 19: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Turner (tashaturner) I usually read in bed but I'm never without a book or kindle app on my phone or tablet and read anywhere I have to wait even if the wait is just 5 minutes.

message 20: by Anna (new)

Anna I'll read anywhere. My favorites are currled up in a blanket on the couch or my ikea poang chair. In bed before going to sleep. And in the summer I love reading on the deck at the in-laws cottage or on the sunpad of the boat (when not moving).

I don't turn on music since my brain will just block it out. But DH can have the tv or music on and I will still read.

message 21: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Anywhere, I carry books around with me. While I cook, when in the car while husband is driving, any place I get a chance to.

message 22: by Erin (new)

Erin Latimer I can't listen to music while I read, not anymore! I used to be able to block everything out!

message 23: by Ikao (new)

I don't know why! More selective hearing as a kid? :D lol.

I can't read on the bus, cause someone always tries to talk to me in the middle of the best parts!

message 26: by Becky (new)

Becky | 251 comments I usually read in my room.

message 27: by chucklesthescot (new)

chucklesthescot I always read upstairs in my bed to chill out. A nice hot chocolate, dimmed light and a low fat snack...but I'm having to adapt and read during the day on my computer as nearly all my read and review books are pdf files.

Yeah what is it with that? When I'm on a bus with my nose in a book, complete strangers seem compelled to talk to me! 'What are you reading dear?' 'Go away, I'm getting to the big gory, decapitation scene, you nosey woman!'

message 29: by Kristel (new)

Kristel (kristelrose) | 8 comments I don't really like to read in my bed because it's not that comfortable because of the thing behind me when i sit. But that's my only place where my parents don't disturb me.
I can't eat anything whilst reading, because most of my books are paperbacks and it gets really tricky to turn page while I have something in my hands.
I can't listen to music or have anything in the background, that just makes me less focused on the book I'm reading.

message 30: by Fiona (new)

Fiona Hocking (brunswickfi) Not so good at reading at home anymore, rather use reading as an excuse to buy good coffee and sit on it for hours. Also am enjoying the extra time I'm spending lately on public transport - many pages being consumed.

message 31: by Fiona (new)

Fiona Hocking (brunswickfi) Jennifer wrote: "Anywhere, I carry books around with me. While I cook, when in the car while husband is driving, any place I get a chance to."

Pretty sad when you start selecting handbags by the number of books you can fit in it.

message 32: by Heather (new)

Heather Bowhay | 32 comments Anywhere! Anytime! My husband won a cruise to Alaska, and the best place ever was sitting on the top deck, reading a great book, and occasionally glancing up at the amazing scenery along the Inside Passage! Breathtaking!

message 33: by Angelica (new)

Angelica (alsg) Anywhere comfortable/peaceful:

Carla (carlajane) | 57 comments Haha nice, Bre. Cool avi!

message 38: by Rinelle (new)

Rinelle Grey (rinellegrey) I can read anywhere, but mostly I'm in bed, right before I go to sleep. Because if I start reading in the morning, I don't want to stop until the book is finished!

message 39: by Brandy (new)

Brandy Nacole (brandynacole) | 173 comments I usually read in bed, but if it's a really good book I'll read anywhere just to get a little further in the story.

message 40: by Debbie (new)

Debbie I read hardcover books everywhere!! My cozy chair, my local Starbucks, a restaurant smoking and reading at the bar or in good weather, on a bench or outdoor table. And, thanks to my iPad and iPhone I always have a book with me. I like my iPad best for reading in bed. Obviously I'm not monogamous to my reading style preference. Ha!!!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I think part of the joy of reading is doing so in different environments for the atmosphere :)

message 45: by Joeera (new)

Joeera | 49 comments Most of the time I read in bed. I can also read on the bus on my way to work, during my lunch brake at work i read as well and my co- workers are always teasing me, i can also read when I am cooking.

message 46: by Andy (new)

Andy | 44 comments I mostly read in my bedroom with soft classical music playing in the background. It helps calm my nerves.
Though on the other hand if i'm totally into a book and can't wait to grab it and continue reading(which is most of the time) I can read anywhere:
a crowded mall, in the bus, classroom you name. Though I don't think the bathroom goes into the list.

message 47: by Harmony (new)

Harmony Kent (harmonyk) I curl up on the sofa, glass of single malt whiskey in hand. Usually with music playing in the back ground. My next favourite place is reading in bed. I much prefer reading in quiet surroundings where I can lose myself in the fiction, rather than in busier places where it's usually a good idea to remain a little more aware! :)

message 48: by Haikufall (new)

Haikufall | 14 comments I like to read in bed with a movie I have seen so many times it because comforting white noise.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) This fall for some reason I stopped taking long baths and reading. I was in the mood for showers. Have less time after work now. Perhaps when it gets a little colder again (if it ever does here) will want baths more.

I don't read my kindle outside much (mainly when I read outside Im on my lunch break and it's not the best area, don't want to sit there with a tablet in the high homeless, crime population), and I also dislike reading in bed with a kindle because I like reading on my side and it keeps switching the page or the angle of it and bugging me. I definitely dont use it in the bath. So the kindle is restricted to me for the chair.

Paperbacks is what I use outside or in the bath and bed. It depends what book Im into.

Ive been doing something fun - been going and putting on old episodes of bewitched in the bedroom and reading with it on while drinking hot tea before bed. So fun. Ive never done that before. The TV is so rarely on in the bedroom, seriously, but I needed a break from always doing everything in the living room.
