Sara Hubbard Loved this book, and I would love to see more of the character's stories. Can't wait for the movie, too.

message 52: by Celeste (new)

Celeste yes because the movie is coming out soon.

message 53: by Hayley (new)

Hayley Em YES! New book, new book! That would be great, I mena I know some people think that the one is enough, but i think 'what could it hurt?' i mean really, even if the sequal was a total stinker, it wouldnt change that the first was brilliant. I think she should give it a shot. Why not? :)

I really loved this book. If she wrote more of them I would definitely read them. But I think it's good here. I'd probably be more happy with a movie adaptation, as long as no one involved in Twilight had any part in it.

Mia;emma Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes.

She needs to write another one because i want to know more about how wanda copes with Pet!

amazing book bytheway.

Mia;emma if you search the host on here, it has two other books to it&they already have names but it says something like 'Stephanie Meyer MIGHT write a sequel'.

confused.

message 57: by Amy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amy I'd LOVE it if she did write another book, but I've been reading blogs of hers and she's just been saying that she isn't realy in that frame of mind at the moment and doesn't feel like she can write any more books to go with the host or twilight. xxxx

message 58: by Esme (new) - rated it 5 stars

Esme I really really hope she writes a sequal but i wouldnt mind if it was form Burns PoV from when he meets wanda

message 59: by Rob (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rob I saw some entries and book covers at one point, but even the Meyer fan sites only say that Stephenie is "probably" working on the next book at the moment She's said she'd like to make it part of a trilogy and that there are two outlines, but it doesn't seem that the books are actually written yet.

Rkssilk I really love this book and though i love the ending and really do belive that there is no need for another book. I think that i would still read it if they where to make a sequel.

message 61: by Bree (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bree Murray Yes I think she should! I loved this book and can't wait for the movie! I hope she continues with the story!

Asousa YES!!

Ladee I think it stands well by itself, and another book would just complicate it.

message 64: by Emma (new) - rated it 4 stars

Emma B I would love another one, as long as it has an actual plot and not just a deterioration in the relationship and then a resolution. Loveeeed this book!

I total agree with you!

Kelseyc No! This is my second favorite book and I've read it five times. I've memorized what happens in order and I loved how it ended! I was frustrated at the end of the book with her in a new body so I'm wondering how much I would like reading the whole thing from that sad little point of view. Maybe if the point of view was from a seeker or something...but I still wouldn't like it. It's one of those books where you read it,make a movie out of it, and thats it.

message 67: by C. (new) - rated it 4 stars

C. Well, if she did. I would so have to read it over because I forgot completely everything. I just know the main character had like two souls. For me, it was an okay book. Somewhat forgettable I guess, but I can't wait for the movie.!

Cecilia Carreon She should leave the story alone. It was a perfect ending and a wonderful story. I would however like to know how Melanie and Jared reunited and maybe how Ian and Wanda. Just a short story nothing big. I'd definitely love to see how are characters are doing.

Ilana i really liked the ending of THE HOST but i think that it was open ended enough that there could be a great story in book 2. i feel like the discovery of another group of folks just like them is something to be built off of and knowing that they also had someone who was just like 'melanie' in their midst who was working for them and not against them.....well that is just something to build off of .

A Nellysa wrote: "I truly enjoyed this book, but I think one book is enough. if she writes a sequel...I'm sure things will get complicated."

i think i agree with you,i really do want to read more of it,but i doubt it will be as good as origin

Koleen Hansen Yes, I would enjoy if the host became a series

message 72: by Ken (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ken Thomas If she does a book two, it should be an on-going saga of the humans who are still fighting against the Host.

Ronda My heartfelt words to Ms. Meyers? If your hear is in it, a sequel would be most welcome. If other characters are calling to you, Host stands alone beautifully.

Samira Lupiac hell yeah!!! she should...i mean it's a great story, and i think it would make an awesome movie, just this time please make sure the cast doesn't start getting involved with each other, and make people more interested with the actors insted of the actual movie...

Marcey Stephenie Meyer is a one-hit-wonder. She isn't working on anything new, and I doubt she ever will. Which is a shame.

message 76: by Llalania (last edited Oct 21, 2012 05:26AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Llalania Well, I look at this from two sides. As a fan of the book, SO much better than Twilight that they could be by different people, I would like more. Yes, she could ruin it, and yes it could also stand as a solo novel, but I was actually disappointed by the ending. I really feel there is a ton of potential, and that there is more of the story to tell. I'd rather see her try to finish the story of this world instead of not doing so for fear of messing it up. Even if it's ruined, at least the attempt was made.

And there's the author point of view. Frankly, it's her story, she can do anything she wants with it. I don't think she's the kind to write purely for profit. Her treatment of 50 shades kinda proves she's not all about the money or the ego like Rowling was. Even thought Twilight was utterly horrid IMHO, she always talks about ending the story when she felt it was done. I respect that from my authors, so it's really up to her.

message 77: by Gene (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gene yes.. i would like a follow- up

gianotti10@aol.com

forget the Twilight series " It's History "

Marcey Stephenie Meyer is a one hit wonder. She isn't working on anything new.

message 79: by Yayoi (new) - added it

Yayoi At first i want this book to have a sequel, but then I realized that it'll be terrible, because everyone might end up dying.

Jordan I think she should do a sequel but following the other group of humans they found at the end :)

Nichola Marcey wrote: "Stephenie Meyer is a one hit wonder. She isn't working on anything new."

??? One hit wonder literally suggests one hit? She's had 5. Four from the twilight series (love them or hate them they were best sellers) and the host. Whether she works on something new or not the phrase 'one hit wonder' really doesn't apply to her.

message 82: by Ken (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ken Thomas No Snowfia1, the Host is a stand alone book...No sequels. Everyone seems to want a sequel including me...

message 83: by Amy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amy Stephanie Meyer may write 2 sequels to The Host but she just doesnt feel like she can right now. She has no inspiration.
I think theres more information about it on her site so look there if you want more info on any of this.

Julie Baarda Reisinger nope, Host was just perfect all the way thru the end

Swrbb Rye I'd love if she'd work on that.......I remember how I stayed awake till 4 in the morning and had to skip my classes the next day......hahahahah....... I'd love to do that once again!!!:)

Mia;emma oh,hell yeah.

message 87: by Lyra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lyra One book is enough for me. From when I finished the book until now, I never wanted her to write another book for this because the ending of The Host is perfect.
Well, if she could write a book with a new character and not the old casts again, it might work. But, still, it's a no. Haha. XD

message 88: by Ann (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ann Barlow What else is there to say? If there was another book it would have to be about the resistance.
The character's are 2 separate people now.
